Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 950: Chapter 544: Have You Taken a Bath Yet? (2)

The emerald green tendrils appeared even greener against the backdrop of the luminous white light, making the surroundings as beautiful as a fairyland.

At this time, under the treehouse, there were already quite a few survivors wandering around.

Ji Chaoyang glanced at those survivors: ”The World Tree hasn’t fully matured yet, its function is unclear, and it’s hard to draw conclusions now, but I have a direction.”

Saying this, he touched his backpack and took out a vial of potion.

”Is this... Giant Beast Potion?”

It was the Giant Beast Potion left for them in that crystal house.

A potion that allows creatures to acquire giant beast bloodlines, or enhance existing giant beast bloodlines, while accelerating the body’s growth to quickly cultivate into a giant beast.

The number of this potion far exceeds that of the [Genetic Potion], with at least a thousand vials available.

”My idea is to select the stronger ones among these mutated creatures and let them take the Giant Beast Potion to become true giant beasts that can aid us.”

Ji Chaoyang shook the vial containing the orally administered Giant Beast Potion.

”As for the other mutated creatures... I haven’t figured out how to deal with them yet. We’ll decide when the World Tree matures. Perhaps we should try giving one of the mutated creatures the potion now to see its effect. But at the very least, we can’t just keep them for nothing.”

Xu Xin was lost in thought, just about to say something when his watch started vibrating.

He raised his hand to check and saw it was a call from Zeng Tao.

His eyes lit up: ”It seems that Shi Wanyun has awakened.”

He answered the call, and sure enough, Zeng Tao’s voice came through: ”Xu Xin, Shi Wanyun is awake now, you should come over quickly!”

Ji Chaoyang was also drawn to this development.

Xu Xin had already told him about Shi Wanyun’s situation before, so he knew what was going on.

”How is she doing?” Xu Xin asked.

”She’s doing well, with a smile on her face, but she won’t say anything until you come back. I’m really...” Zeng Tao’s voice was quite discontented.

”Alright, I understand, I’ll be there right away.”

After hanging up, Xu Xin looked at Ji Chaoyang: ”Want to come along?”

”No.” Ji Chaoyang shook his head, ”I haven’t interacted much with her, and my presence might affect her. It’s better if you go alone, just be careful. I’ve got things to handle here.”

”Okay.”

Xu Xin quickly arrived at Zeng Tao’s treehouse.

Then he realized he could no longer control the tendrils of Zeng Tao’s treehouse.

This surprised him a bit.

But... indeed.

Now it seemed that Zeng Tao’s treehouse was... parasitic on the World Tree?

In fact, perhaps his own treehouse was also parasitic on the World Tree; it just retained its treehouse core.

”Zeng...”

Before he could finish speaking, the treehouse tendrils suddenly drooped down, pulling him upwards.

Zeng Tao walked up to Xu Xin in two steps, looked up, and laughed, ”Haha, now you can’t just enter my treehouse at will, it feels so much safer!”

Xu Xin glanced at her: ”You aren’t safe already?”

From any perspective, she was quite safe.

Zeng Tao looked down at herself, then recalling something, she suddenly looked up angrily, ”What do you mean? You...”

But Xu Xin had already walked past her, making his way to the bedside.

There, laying by the bed, was Mimi, yawning.

Shi Wanyun, who had been lying in a coma on the bed, was now sitting up, tidying her slightly messy hair.

Her skin was much fairer and smoother than before, and her complexion was much rosier.

Her clothes were soaked with sweat, clinging translucently to her body, giving her a captivating, albeit slightly disheveled appearance that Zeng Tao could never match.

At this moment, she smiled at Xu Xin.

Xu Xin looked her up and down: ”You... have you taken a bath?”

”...A bath?” Shi Wanyun was slightly stunned, then realized what he meant, and softly said, ”Not yet. If you wish to do that kind of thing, I can go wash. However... I have no experience in this, so I might not meet your expectations.”

Xu Xin was speechless: ”...That’s not what I meant, I was saying...”

This woman...

”You pervert! Still thinking about such things right now! You... wait... How come you don’t need a bath?”

Zeng Tao looked at Shi Wanyun, surprised: ”I didn’t notice earlier, how come you didn’t... well... shed your skin?”

”Shed skin?” Shi Wanyun was first surprised, then thoughtful, ”Is it the situation after injecting the potion?”

Xu Xin’s heart skipped a beat, asking, ”Do you know what Zeng Tao means by ’shedding skin’? Have you experienced it before?”

After injecting the Genetic Potion, cellular metabolism accelerates rapidly, causing the skin to peel layer by layer, much like reptile shedding.

But how would the average person know what shedding skin is? Shi Wanyun’s attitude made it clear she knew.

”Yes.” Shi Wanyun nodded lightly, ”Are you talking about the skin peeling layer by layer, and new skin growing out?”

”Ah? You really went through it?” Zeng Tao asked in surprise.

”On the far side of this planet, on a giant tree much like the one you’ve planted here, I have indeed experienced the kind of ’shedding’ you mentioned.”

”Oh?”

Xu Xin quickly moved a chair to sit opposite her: ”You’re finally going to share your story.”

”Of course.” Shi Wanyun nodded gently, ”As I said, as long as you can meet my requirements, I will tell you everything.”
