Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 923: Chapter 535: The Popular Crystal House

Hanging up the call, Xu Xin once again observed the group of mutant creatures affected around him.

They were no longer completely unconscious in slumber, but showed some subtle movements.

Especially the leopard in front of him, its claws had already started flexing subconsciously; it always felt like it would swing its sharp claws in its dreams.

”Can either of you sense any obvious changes in them?” Xu Xin picked up Keke, who had been lying on the leopard, and placed him on his shoulder while turning to ask Lou Fei’Er and the other person.

Both of them had mutant bloodlines and had always been very sensitive to other mutant creatures before. They should be able to feel something.

To his surprise, they both shook their heads.

Lou Fei’Er looked at the still sleeping mutant creatures around them, touching her smooth chin, and said, ”I don’t feel any changes; we can only sense they possess the power of bloodline mutation. At least from my feelings... they don’t seem to be weakened.”

Jin Yue also nodded and said, ”Just looking at the bloodline mutation, they’re still strong. Although the leopard’s bloodlines seem dull, it’s still an intermediate mutant creature.”

Is that so.

Xu Xin pointed at the second-floor Crystal City building where they had just jumped down from, ”Let’s go up and wait for these affected mutant creatures; they seem to be waking up soon, and we still can’t guarantee they won’t hurt us.”

The three returned to the top of the second-floor Crystal City building.

Xu Xin sat at the edge of the Crystal City building, waiting for these creatures to awaken.

The movements of these affected mutant creatures were getting increasingly bigger, with some even turning from lying positions to belly up, limbs moving with completely unguarded actions.

Even if they were asleep in a dream, the pain they seemed to have in their previous unconscious screams was gone, and they looked somewhat... comfortable?

”Xu Xin, are you planning to let Wen Guixin use her ability against the mutant creatures surrounding us?” At this point, Jin Yue asked from the side.

”That’s the plan.”

Xu Xin looked at the somewhat restless beast group still surrounding Crystal City outside, ”Now with Crystal City as a shield, other mutant creatures dare not approach here, but they also don’t seem to intend to leave. With Wen Guixin’s ability as an offense and Crystal City as defense, we should easily drive this wave of beasts away.”

Jin Yue looked at the group of mutant creatures, ”If they enter Crystal City, they’d also be affected, right? If these affected creatures could help us...”

”Do you think with the current situation, they’d be controlled to rush in?” Xu Xin pointed at the mutant creatures below, ”Rather than letting them become a hazard outside Crystal City, we should kill them all. As for creatures with giant beast bloodlines... this world lacks none of those.”

”...You’ve got a point.” Jin Yue nodded lightly.

”Ah, it’s awake!” Lou Fei’Er said softly, ”One of them has woken up!”

Xu Xin immediately looked toward the direction Lou Fei’Er pointed.

Indeed, it was a black bear. It changed its original lying position on the ground, slowly standing up, then scratched its black head with thick bear paws, and let out a... somewhat puzzled bear call?

Judging by its appearance, it seemed like... it could control itself now? And perhaps had gained some wisdom?

”Its actions are really out of place...” Lou Fei’Er grumbled.

Certainly.

Because bears themselves can stand on two feet, this mutant black bear was doing just that.

Adding its head-scratching action, it seemed like a human wrapped in a black bear suit.

Apart from this black bear, other affected mutant creatures also woke up one by one, each initially appearing slightly dazed like the bear.

They turned their heads curiously like babies, surveying their surroundings and even using their paws to nudge their still-unconscious counterparts around.

Some even gathered together, ”Owoowo”ing, not knowing what they were saying.

Xu Xin immediately activated his mind-reading ability.

A flood of information instantly surged into his mind.

”Where... is this?”

”What just... happened?”

”Why are they all... lying on the ground...”

”What’s happening now...”

”I don’t know...”

”But it’s so comfortable, really comfortable here, don’t want to leave...”

The voices of the affected mutant creatures around poured into his mind.

If he hadn’t seen with his own eyes that the surroundings were filled with mutant creatures, he might think a group of people had just awoken and were conversing.

At the same time, because his mind-reading ability’s range was around three hundred meters, the thoughts of mutant creatures outside Crystal City, untouched by influence, also rushed into his mind.

”Kill kill kill kill...”

”Eat him!”

”Charge, charge, charge!”

”Hungry! Hungry!”

The thoughts of these outside mutant creatures were much simpler, almost single-mindedly wanting to rush in and wreak havoc.

And the surrounding affected creatures also nearly all woke up, forming small groups like human crowds, conversing with each other using animal noises about something.
