Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 940: Chapter 540: I Don’t Want to Become a Monster (Part 3)

”Talking like I’m some kind of super fat person...” Zeng Tao muttered.

”...” Shi Wanyun opened her eyes and looked at Xu Xin.

She could sense the impatience in Xu Xin’s tone and knew that Xu Xin’s patience with her had reached its limit.

But...

”I can’t say...” She closed her eyes again, ”If I speak, I’d rather be dead than alive. Unless you inject me with the genetic drug to get me out of control, even if you kill me, I won’t say it.”

Her voice was very firm, even her hands, originally clenched behind her, relaxed and it was evident she was showing a look of ’do what you want, I’m not saying anything.’

”... Zeng Tao.”

”Ah? Oh oh!”

Zeng Tao understood Xu Xin’s intention, and immediately let go of the strength in her legs, fell back down, and pressed on Shi Wanyun’s back again.

”...Ah!”

Shi Wanyun’s eyes flew open, her mouth opening silently for two seconds before she finally couldn’t help but let out a scream. Her legs instinctively kicked again, striking against Zeng Tao’s back.

But Zeng Tao was unmoved.

”... I... I won’t say it!” Shi Wanyun’s voice was already somewhat strained, and carried the hint of tears, ”I... I don’t want to become one of those hairy monsters!”

Hairy monster?

Xu Xin’s eyes shifted.

”Alright, get off her.” Xu Xin sighed.

”Oh...” Zeng Tao nodded, got up from her, muttering as she retreated behind Xu Xin, ”Such a big person, getting pressed a bit and you start crying, isn’t it embarrassing...”

Saying this, she sat cross-legged beside Mimi, wanting to lean against Mimi, but the originally sleepy and listless Mimi suddenly jumped up, dodged Zeng Tao’s movement, and then opened her mouth to huff a breath at Zeng Tao!

”Huff—”

”... Even you are dodging me! And blowing breath at me!”

Xu Xin’s mouth twitched a bit.

... Don’t you think about how heavy you actually are?

However, Shi Wanyun, who was no longer being pressed, did not get up at this moment.

Her head, originally turned to the side, was now facing down, buried in the bed, her hands still behind her back, unmoving.

She obviously didn’t want Xu Xin and Zeng Tao to see her expression.

However, her flushed ears had already revealed her mood at the moment.

”... Don’t you know, that position you’re in now is even more embarrassing?” Xu Xin kindly reminded.

Shi Wanyun’s body shuddered, and she immediately turned over to sit up, moving to the other side of the bed, with her back to them, facing the wall.

When she turned over and got up, she couldn’t help but let out a grunt of pain, and the bones in her back clearly made a sound.

And now, while sitting with her back straight facing away from Xu Xin, her body was slightly trembling. It was evident that she was injured from being pressed, and even her bones might have fractured, but she forced herself to bear it.

Xu Xin could understand this.

As the strongest in District 1, how could Shi Wanyun have ever endured such grievance and embarrassment?

She probably maintained her dignity even up against the towering tree on the backside of the planet in the face of alien invaders, never thought she’d lose her face here.

”With spinal damage, be careful of paralysis.” Xu Xin spoke, ”I won’t force anything, say what you think you can say, I’ll give you a pill to heal your injuries, and then take you to inject the drug.”

Xu Xin’s words made Shi Wanyun immediately turn to look at him.

Her eyes were somewhat red, obviously wanting to cry but suppressing it.

And her turn had also stirred up her injuries, making her straighten her back and causing her body to tremble.

But she still looked firmly at Xu Xin: ”Do you mean it?”

”Of course.”

Xu Xin felt there was no need to insist anymore.

From earlier observations, Shi Wanyun’s physical abilities were not that strong; Zeng Tao could easily suppress her at close range.

Of course, she wasn’t weak either, given that even Xu Xin couldn’t break free from Zeng Tao’s suppression in such a scenario. Being physically suppressed by Zeng Tao, probably no one could escape by force.

... Perhaps Wang Lei could?

Anyway, the drug wouldn’t enhance a person’s strength, even if she were injected, she would still be easily suppressed by Zeng Tao.

Everything she originally had was confiscated. Even her clothes were changed into ordinary ones purchased from the point store, so there was no worry of her using any tools.

Plus, when she tried to escape, it coincided perfectly with when Keke looked up at the sky and suddenly ran away.

Xu Xin was really curious.

What exactly did she know? What happened just now?

... If that’s the case, let’s invest in a drug.

If she still doesn’t speak after the injection...

Then it’s as if she never existed, considering the drug a waste.
