Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 926: Chapter 536: Yingying, Am I Still Your Brother?

”If you want to make a move, you better be careful.” Xu Xin looked at the beastly crowd outside.

Outside the city, the number of mutant creatures was vast. At a glance, it was still a dense mass of various animals filling the forest, making it impossible to tell just how many there were.

But Xu Xin had the map in his mind.

Right now, the number of mutant creatures surrounding Crystal City was indeed terrifying. The number of beasts in any previous beast tide could not even compare to one-tenth of this one.

Not to mention, all these creatures were gathered around Crystal City, densely encircling it.

If, as Lou Fei’Er mentioned earlier, one-tenth were intermediate mutant creatures...

Then just the number of intermediate mutant creatures in this beastly crowd encircling Crystal City could compare to the total number of beasts from the previous beast tides!

Given the current situation, even if Xu Xin wanted to go out, if he didn’t return, it would absolutely be a one-way trip to death.

Thinking of this, a slim chance of fortune sprung in his heart.

If it weren’t for the role of Crystal City, with the resources they currently had, they probably couldn’t withstand the attack of this group of mutant creatures for long. Not only would the World Tree be unable to protect them, even their own lives would be involved.

Looking at it this way, it seems like those alien invaders are determined to destroy this still-growing World Tree and kill them.

However, this made him even more eager for the growth of this World Tree.

”Not to mention those low-level mutant creatures, there are very many intermediate mutant creatures outside, it seems better for you not to go out.” Jin Yue spoke, explaining the current situation to Wen Guixin.

”I see.”

After hearing this, Wen Guixin was not the least bit surprised or scared.

With an indifferent expression, she said, ”Don’t worry, this matter is not worth fretting over. Don’t forget, besides my mental toxins, my strength itself is top-notch; even if there is any trouble, I can still break through and run back into Crystal City with no problem.”

Indeed.

She now had purple-level equipment and weapons, along with the healing medicine provided by Qi Xuefei. Unless directly receiving a fatal injury, there was no big issue.

”But I don’t plan to make a move just yet.” Wen Guixin crossed her arms in front of her chest, leaning against the outer wall of the crystal building, ”I’m waiting for news from Zhao Xiaochuan.”

Zhao Xiaochuan ... has probably also come to the outskirts of Crystal City, like her.

”He should have already infiltrated the beastly crowd by now. He said he wants to try and find out who is controlling these mutant creatures to attack us.” Wen Guixin glanced at her watch and pursed her lips, ”What’s the point of finding them? Are we going to persuade them rationally and emotionally? Just let me help finish them off.”

Xu Xin wasn’t surprised; he had already guessed Zhao Xiaochuan would do this: ”Then let’s wait, at least he can find out the truth behind this operation, whether it’s like Shi Wanyun said.”

The person controlling these mutant creatures, whether they are survivors from other regions, and if so, what kind of threat made them do this.

Honestly, Xu Xin didn’t want direct hostility with other regions, as they were all humans after all. Their enemy should be alien invaders; if regional conflicts started directly, if region 188 started massacring people from other regions...

Wouldn’t that mean falling into the ploys of those alien invaders, beginning to consume each other in civil war?

If possible, cooperation would be the best way.

”Then I’ll go in and bond with these guys!” Lou Fei’Er turned her head towards the interior of the building, ”This big cat is so cute, it looks just like Mimi!”

With that, she walked inside and sat in front of the leopard, chatting with it of her own accord.

Xu Xin also glanced inside.

Of course, the leopard looked like Mimi.

On the surface, a cheetah is essentially a slimmer version of a leopard. If they stood side by side, some might even mistake them for a mother leopard with her cub.

At this moment, this leopard’s size was similar to Mimi’s, but since Mimi was initially smaller by a bit, in terms of beast and mutation level, Mimi was much higher.

In terms of size, maybe their straightforward power confrontation would be about the same, Mimi might even lose a bit. But in agility and speed, Mimi would likely far exceed this leopard.

If they were to battle, the leopard might not even have its claws out before its throat is slashed by Mimi’s sharp claws.

Not to mention Mimi is about to advance to a higher level, probably in a couple of days, the influence of Crystal City is making the giant beast bloodline increasingly strong.

As he just envisioned, letting Mimi take charge of controlling these current peripheral beasts would likely be the most suitable choice.

”Zhao Xiaochuan sure is slow...” Wen Guixin boredly fiddled with her fingers.

Jin Yue kept standing beside Xu Xin, observing the situation of the mutant creatures outside.

”Xu Xin, can’t you determine our location? Check Zhao Xiaochuan’s location for me, is he still in the beastly crowd?” Wen Guixin impatiently asked Xu Xin.

Xu Xin shook his head: ”Your locations, I can’t see... hmm?”

He paused slightly.

Just now, his attention was entirely on the countless red dots densely surrounding Crystal City, not noticing the green dots representing his companions.
