Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 925: Chapter 535: The Popular Crystal House (Part 3)

Xu Xin looked around at the other crystal houses, and it was the same situation everywhere.

A stark contrast to the increasingly chaotic and seemingly agitated mutant creatures outside Crystal City.

The group of mutant creatures outside had started to stir again, howling incessantly.

Meanwhile, the thoughts of the mutant creatures inside the houses were somewhat amusing.

”It’s so noisy outside.”

”Disturbing my sleep...”

”Let’s go out and kill them... forget it.”

They were all remarkably lazy, but that was understandable—perhaps like Lou Fei’Er before, suppressing the mutant bloodline required energy, and now they were probably very tired.

”Ying!” Keke suddenly jumped off Xu Xin’s shoulder and directly into the house.

This little guy...

It ran in front of a black bear whose paw was larger than Keke’s entire body.

The black bear was lying on the ground, and Keke pushed its bear paw with its little claws: ”Ying Ying Ying!”

”Roar...?”

”Ying!”

”Hey, do you think we can communicate with them normally now?” Lou Fei’Er raised her eyebrow and shouted into the house from the window, ”Hey, you guys in there, can you understand what I’m saying? I’m one of you!”

The mutant creatures inside looked over.

”She’s one of us.”

”She’s strong.”

”So tired, don’t want to talk.”

The mutant creatures lifted their eyes briefly before going back to sleep.

It seems these mutant creatures indeed can communicate now.

...Is this the function of Crystal City?

Capturing these mutant creatures directly from the heart?

Keke ran around the house, greeting all the big creatures, but they were all too tired to respond, leaving Keke bored as it ran back.

”Ying!” Instead of climbing back on Xu Xin’s shoulder, it headed to another crystal house.

Xu Xin decided to try communicating with the beasts inside the house to gauge their attitude.

If he could recruit these beasts, that would be perfect!

”You guys, you should be able to understand me, right?”

Xu Xin thought for a moment, walked to the entrance, and said, ”It seems you really like it here, we are the owners of this place, and we welcome you to stay, but since you live here, you have the responsibility to protect this city.”

His words immediately caught the attention of the beasts inside, and they looked over at him.

Even the beasts on the second floor appeared at the top of the stairs and looked down.

”He’s the owner of this place...?”

”His aura... is so comforting.”

”Can’t discern his strength...”

”Want to follow him...”

”Can we live here?”

”Isn’t it our duty to protect this place?”

Their thoughts flowed in again, and the mutant creatures made friendly sounds.

Their response to Xu Xin’s words was much stronger than to Lou Fei’Er’s, which made Lou Fei’Er a bit annoyed: ”What’s this about, when I talk they ignore me, yet when you talk, they all stand up?”

The leopard even walked up to Xu Xin, rubbing its head against him to express goodwill.

Well, it seems that as someone associated with this city, he can receive the goodwill of these influenced mutant creatures, just like the city itself?

This feels really nice!

If they could really protect this city, that would be so reassuring!

Now, the outskirts of Crystal City probably have a circle of influenced creatures, which directly provides them with a defensive force!

They wouldn’t even need to worry themselves; these influenced mutant creatures would be the best defenders of Crystal City’s outlying areas!

This is truly wonderful!

Hmm... there are many mutant creatures, and integrating them into the defense system isn’t an easy task.

Xu Xin patted the leopard’s head, and it affectionately licked him with its barbed tongue.

Looking at the leopard, Xu Xin suddenly had an idea.

...Perhaps Mimi could command them?

Mimi is about to advance to a high-level mutant creature, and its strength surpasses most of these intermediate creatures, so if it could lead this mutant creature army...

”Xu Xin? Are you there?” At this moment, a voice came from afar.

It was Wen Guixin’s voice.

She finally arrived.

She didn’t have a mount, and there were no creatures inside Crystal City for her to infect and control, so her arrival was rather slow.

”Here!” Xu Xin walked out of the crystal house and saw Wen Guixin approaching from not far away.

”We’re here!” Lou Fei’Er also waved at her.

Jin Yue followed behind them, silent.

”Ah, you’re here?” Wen Guixin quickly ran over and curiously looked around, ”What’s the situation around here? What about the influenced mutant creatures?”

”Inside the house.” Xu Xin pointed to the interior, ”Here’s what happened...”

He briefly explained the situation.

”You mean, we have an army of beasts?” Wen Guixin exclaimed.

”It’s certainly possible,” Xu Xin nodded.

”Hmph, but they seem to only listen to Xu Xin, they barely pay attention to me,” Lou Fei’Er shrugged.

”Oh, is that so?” Wen Guixin was surprised, then pursed her lips, ”Well, it doesn’t concern me anyway, I’ll leave it to you guys then, I’m not suited to interact with them, my goal is...”

She looked outside Crystal City, a smile forming at the corner of her mouth: ”Is it my turn to act now?”
