Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 801: Chapter 494: Swarm of Insects Rushing into the Flames!

The insect repellent potion?

Good stuff!

”What materials are needed?” Xu Xin immediately asked.

”She has everything here, mugwort, oregano, mint... I don’t really understand. She has plenty of these materials, we don’t need to provide herbs, nor could we. According to Xuefei, spraying this potion on the body should have a strong insect repelling effect.”

This really is good stuff!

Although the flying insects and crawlers haven’t harmed them yet, it doesn’t mean they won’t attack later.

Having something to repel insects is good, so he can go out!

After hanging up the call, he immediately returned to the treehouse and contacted Ma Hongwei.

Ma Hongwei said the heavy crossbow on his treehouse and the things inside were best not abandoned, so he planned to do the same around his treehouse.

Xu Xin let him be.

He also contacted Qin Fu, who was outside for unknown reasons.

Qin Fu was still close to his treehouse, and his watch could be used normally.

”What are you doing outside?” Xu Xin asked straightforwardly.

”Boss, I found something unusual around here!” Qin Fu’s voice was muffled, he must have covered himself up tightly, given his location in the jungle, where insects were swarming, ”I feel I can find the source where these insects are born!”

”Oh?” Xu Xin’s eyebrows relaxed, ”Are you sure?”

”Not sure, just a feeling, I’ll contact you once I find the unusual spot, boss.”

Hanging up the call, Xu Xin felt things were handled quite nicely.

Everything was relatively smooth.

But it’s not time to rest yet.

Because...

”Xu Xin, should I go back and start some fires around my treehouse?”

Li Wenxi asked worriedly.

”I’m planning to do just that.” Xu Xin nodded, ”Your treehouse must be protected.”

Her treehouse wasn’t a parasitic treehouse; if her treehouse were gnawed upon, the other treehouses parasitized on hers would be lost directly.

A group of people would become homeless.

It’s not just her treehouse but also others’.

Especially Qi Xuefei, Qin Yunlong, and Qin Yunhu’s, where no one is currently present!

”I’ll help!” Lou Fei’Er stood up.

Jin Yue and Zeng Tao also expressed their willingness to assist.

Currently, with this temperature, only they could operate outside the treehouse normally.

”Alright. You go and help Wenxi and Sister Xuefei start the bonfires, I’ll go explore the other members’ places!”

”Got it!”

”Understood!”

The three women headed out immediately.

Xu Xin quickly contacted Ji Chaoyang, telling him he’d start bonfires around Qi Xuefei’s treehouse.

”Thank you.” Qi Xuefei’s voice came through, ”My mosquito repellent potion will be ready soon.”

”Relying on you.”

Ending the call, Xu Xin prepared to head out immediately.

”Whew...” Keke tugged at his pant leg.

”What’s up, Keke?” He looked down, ”Is there danger outside?”

”Whew!” Keke nodded her little head.

”What danger? Are you talking about those insects?”

”Whew...” The little fellow tilted her head and then shook it, ”Whew.”

She meant she wasn’t sure.

But he still had to go out.

”Be careful!” Li Wenxi saw Keke’s attitude and felt a bit worried too.

”Don’t worry, the insects aren’t attacking people now.”

Xu Xin didn’t waste any time; he quickly descended from the treehouse and transported to Wen Guixin’s side.

As soon as he transported, he saw several bonfires.

Though not as many as over at his place, they were already ignited.

Countless insects were swarming into the flames!

”Why are you here?” Wen Guixin poked her head out of the window.

”No worries, just checking how you resolve this. I’m using this method too, good that you can handle it.”

”It’s not a method I thought of.” Wen Guixin pointed inside the treehouse, ”They came up with it. Okay, I’m closing the window, it’s too hot outside!”

Saying that she proceeded to close the window.

”Let me tell you something, Sister Xuefei will soon make the mosquito repellent potion.”

”That strong?!” Wen Guixin halted her window motion with a bit of surprise but then shook her head, ”It’s useful for people like you who can go out, not for me. No way I’m going out, it’s too hot.”

She closed the window, ending the conversation.

Xu Xin started two fires at relatively open places and then headed to Wang Lei’s side.

Things were still unhandled at Wang Lei’s, but he knew to keep the lights off in the treehouse.

”Brother Xin, you’re here?”

Xu Xin immediately went up and told them the solutions.

”I should go back!” Qin Yunlong, who resided with Wang Lei, immediately stood up, ”To protect my treehouse!”

The nighttime temperature was just around forty degrees; short-term outdoor activity wasn’t a problem, so Xu Xin didn’t stop him.

He then went to find Zhao Xiaochuan, who was setting up bonfires outside.

Upon inquiry, Qin Yunhu had already returned.

Seems this side is a bit smarter.

He quickly checked Li Wenxi’s place.

The surrounding bonfires were similar in number to his side, and the temperature was unbearably high.

Luckily, no one lived here at the moment.

Returning to his treehouse, he basically came back simultaneously.

”We’ve completed our task!” Zeng Tao’s little face was all rosy from the heat, ”Watching those flying insects rush into the flames is satisfying!”

”Such dumb bugs, but it’s good they’re dumb.” Lou Fei’Er sighed.

”Alright, let’s head back.”

They all returned to the treehouse, ending the night protection measures.

Sitting on the sofa, Xu Xin exhaled deeply.

”Finally done,” Li Wenxi leaned beside him, ”Should be okay tonight, right?”

”...There’s still an issue.” Xu Xin stroked Keke lying in his arms with one hand, and rubbed his temple a bit troubled with the other.

The insect matter should be considered temporarily settled.

On returning, fewer insects rushed into the fire clearly.

Not because insects aren’t attracted to light, but many already died, so the insect density greatly reduced.

Yet...

The bonfire temperature affected tonight’s plan.

Originally, he planned to spend the night observing if the nighttime temperature rose unusually, but now...

He had manually raised the surrounding temperature himself.

...What to do now?
