Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 835: Chapter 506: Déjà Vu and Illusions (5,000 Words)

”Why is it empty here?” Zeng Tao looked up at the appearance inside the Crystal Palace, feeling a bit disappointed, ”Is this palace just like those buildings outside? Disappointing...”

The interior of the Crystal Palace was empty and open, with a soft, bright, gleaming white light as far as the eye could see.

Everyone had just been shocked by the beauty of the scenery, and now they all snapped back to reality.

”... Is there really nothing here?” Lou Fei’Er looked around.

Xu Xin felt a constant stir in his heart upon entering the palace interior.

He sensed that something deep within the palace was attracting him, urging him... to move faster towards it.

The first floor of the Crystal Palace was a vast hall. At the other end of the hall, there was a staircase leading to the second floor.

The hall was large; they probably needed to walk about two hundred meters to reach the other end.

Gazing at the staircase, he subconsciously took two steps forward.

”What’s wrong with you?” Shi Wanyun, standing behind him, noticed his unusual behavior and asked softly.

”... I might know where to go. Follow me.”

Xu Xin’s words startled the women around him.

”Huh? What do you mean? You...” Zeng Tao wanted to ask for clarification, but upon seeing Xu Xin’s somewhat strange expression, she immediately shut her mouth, dared not speak any further, and obediently followed behind him.

Lou Fei’Er slightly widened her eyes, showing a look of ’I knew it,’ and followed along.

When she saw the stone statue carved with Xu Xin’s face upstairs, she felt that this place was definitely related to him, and now it seemed so.

Jin Yue, of course, said nothing and immediately followed.

”What’s going on...” Shi Wanyun was a bit surprised, but seeing that no one else objected, she followed up as well.

Xu Xin moved forward one step at a time, relying on his intuition.

This place gave him a curious sense of... déjà vu.

He constantly felt that he had been here before, and everything here seemed unexpectedly... familiar to him?

”Ying...” Keke, squinting slightly at the bright light around them, glanced around, then closed its eyes again, nestled its head into Xu Xin’s arms, and buried itself, ”Ying...”

Xu Xin gently rubbed its small head and continued forward.

Behind, Zeng Tao tugged Lou Fei’Er’s arm, pulling her back a few steps, then whispered, ”What’s really going on? You didn’t seem too surprised; do you know something?”

”Why don’t you just ask him yourself?” Lou Fei’Er whispered back.

”Um... I’m scared.” Zeng Tao hesitated, ”His expression was so strange just now. I’m afraid I’ll interrupt his thoughts, and he’ll scold me.”

”Well... I can’t really say, it’s just some conjecture. Let’s observe the situation here first.” Lou Fei’Er didn’t explain because it was related to Xu Xin, and since Xu Xin hadn’t explicitly stated anything, she felt it wasn’t her place to explain.

”Okay... but on this first floor, that staircase is the only way to go, right? Let’s head over and take a look!”

”Did you guys encounter anything while upstairs?” Shi Wanyun seemed to guess something and asked softly.

”Well... there were indeed some strange occurrences, but if you want to know, ask Xu Xin, that’s probably best.”

”Now is not the time to talk about such things.” Jin Yue glanced at them, then leaped forward to catch up with Xu Xin.

Xu Xin turned around and looked at them somewhat helplessly, ”You don’t have to worry so much. I just have a peculiar feeling, that’s all. Everything else is quite normal, no need to whisper behind my back. Besides, I can hear you.”

”Ah!” Zeng Tao scratched her head, then ran up in front, looking up at Xu Xin, ”Then tell me, what’s really going on? What exactly is this place?”

”How would I know?” Xu Xin chuckled exasperatedly, ”This is my first time here too, though...”

Though there was always a strange sense of déjà vu.

”Though what!” Zeng Tao immediately circled around in front of him to block his path, but not entirely blocking it, simply moving back as Xu Xin advanced, ”Can you not leave your sentences incomplete!”

”Though... be careful!” Xu Xin’s gaze suddenly sharpened, and he reached out to grab Zeng Tao’s arm.

Of course, the current Zeng Tao was not her powerless self, and it was impossible for Xu Xin to pull her with his strength.

Xu Xin’s gesture made Zeng Tao instinctively step back but she quickly reacted, going with his pull smoothly.

Meanwhile, above her head, there was the sound of a ”click” from the mechanism!

”Ah!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed in surprise behind Xu Xin.

Jin Yue’s pupils contracted sharply.

Shi Wanyun squinted her eyes slightly.

”Zila!”

Two arrows whizzed closely past the back of Zeng Tao’s head and back, scraping against her purple-grade steel armor, and plunged directly into the ground!

”What was that!” Zeng Tao leapt forward and then turned to look back.

On the ground, two arrows emitting a glowing white light were deeply embedded in the crystal floor, their ends still trembling slightly!

Although the crystal floor appeared to be mainly white, it still had some transparency, so everyone could vaguely see the head of the crystal arrows was made of a black, unknown metal.

Moreover, each arrow sunk two-thirds into the ground, showcasing their formidable power.
