Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 823: Chapter 502: You’re Saying This Is... a Tomb?

However, things were not as easy as the two imagined.

This door simply wouldn’t budge.

Although Xu Xin’s strength was not as good as Ma Hongwei or Zeng Tao, he strengthened himself daily with potions.

But this door wouldn’t move at all.

Not even an inch.

If it required more strength to open, he should at least be able to move it a little, but now it wouldn’t move at all.

”This door should be opened with a mechanism,” Xu Xin frowned.

”Mechanism?” Lou Fei’Er rolled her eyes slightly, then looked around and sighed, ”No way...”

Insects covered the ground everywhere, making it difficult to find the mechanism.

She really didn’t want to fiddle with these bugs anymore...

”Keke, can you sense where the mechanism is?” Xu Xin turned his head to ask Keke, who was lying on his shoulder.

”Whee.” Keke shook his little head, indicating he didn’t know.

”Even Keke doesn’t know...” Lou Fei’Er felt even more exhausted.

”Then let’s just kill all these bugs,” Xu Xin glanced around and said.

”Kill them? How are you going to... ah.” Lou Fei’Er hadn’t finished speaking when she saw Xu Xin take out a mutated vine from his backpack and realized, ”You’re going to set it on fire?”

It’s okay outside, so it’s naturally okay down here too.

Although killing all this group of bugs might take some time, because crawling insects are not as fast as flying ones.

But they didn’t need to clear the area completely, as long as the bugs weren’t so dense.

Xu Xin walked to the center of the pit and lit the mutated vine.

The mutated vine instantly ignited a fire nearly three meters high, shooting up to Xu Xin’s head.

”Wow, this fire is burning so fiercely!” Lou Fei’Er exclaimed.

Xu Xin also instinctively stepped back two steps.

Ground fire never burned this fiercely!

Why did the underground flames burn so intensely?

The light instantly illuminated the entire underground pit.

Immediately, all the insects in the pit were drawn to the firelight and rushed towards it!

They didn’t even care about the repellent on Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er anymore, gathering towards the light!

”Ah! Xu Xin! Xu Xin, the bugs are going to crawl on me!” Lou Fei’Er, who had no trouble fighting underground mutated giant insects as large as vehicles, now screamed in terror because of this swarm of small bugs.

She took out spray and frantically sprayed it around her.

But nothing could stop the bugs in their pursuit of the light.

”Whee!” Seeing the bugs also crawling towards Xu Xin, Keke cried out, ”Whee whee whee!”

Xu Xin immediately grabbed Lou Fei’Er, stepped down, jumped in place, and leapt to the top of the statue.

At this point, the bugs on the statue had also been attracted by the light, and the ground bugs no longer climbed up, so it was temporarily safe here.

Lou Fei’Er kicked off and brushed away the bugs that had climbed onto her shoes and legs, then sat directly on the statue, complaining in a trembling voice, ”My God, I’m most afraid of these little things. If these things crawl into my clothes, I’d really want to die...”

That scene, not to mention her, even Xu Xin couldn’t handle it.

”Alright, it’s safe now, let’s observe the surroundings.”

”Mm...” Lou Fei’Er stood up and started observing around.

The bugs were swarming towards the bonfire at their fastest speed, in large numbers.

The bonfire ignited by the mutated vine showed no fear of the insect swarm, and the bugs rushing into the fire not only didn’t stop the flames but made them burn even more fiercely!

The flames directly shot up into the air five or six meters high, illuminating the entire underground pit even more brightly!

On the ground around the human-faced statue, waves of bugs surged towards the bonfire, while more waves of bugs came from farther away.

Meanwhile, the stone wall of the pit, originally crawling with bugs up to ten meters high, was slowly descending.

Soon, the stone wall would be fully revealed.

”Carefully observe the surroundings!”

”Oh, okay!”

...

Zeng Tao felt very bored.

She had a lot to say, but Jin Yue said very little, barely speaking at all.

A moment ago, she accidentally asked Jin Yue, ”Hey, do you have any special experiences in this world? Tell me about it.”

Then she realized she had said the wrong thing, leaving herself speechless.

Jin Yue’s special experience was just too special.

What was she even asking!

The atmosphere became very awkward.

To conceal the awkwardness, she immediately examined the low structure thoroughly, not even missing the cracks in the corners.

But this stone building truly had nothing.

It was a very, very plain stone house, with no signs of use at all, as if it had been this way since its creation.

”What exactly is this place used for...” Zeng Tao felt a bit speechless, ”Was this underground marvel built by the ancient emperor of this world just for show? Who could be so idle, building a marvel underground, afraid of others seeing it?”

Hearing Zeng Tao’s complaint, Jin Yue’s eyes suddenly moved.

”Magnificent underground construction, afraid of being seen?” She murmured to herself.

”Exactly!” Zeng Tao moved closer to the door to listen to the insects’ chirping outside, ”Hey, those bugs still haven’t left... How long are we going to wait...”

Jin Yue, however, looked at the stone door, deep in thought.
