Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 810: Chapter 497: What Have We Unleashed?!

She glared at Xu Xin.

Compared to when Xu Xin first captured her, she had really changed a lot.

”This...” Over the voice, Li Wenxi also didn’t know what to say.

She wanted to bring those two back, but she didn’t want Xu Xin and the others to risk themselves.

But, as someone who hadn’t been involved in this matter, she didn’t have much say, so she could only remain silent.

”Do you even hear what you’re saying?” Xu Xin shook his head, ”Would I do something like that? If we go down, what if something happens?”

”Then... if we don’t go down, are we just going back like this? Then you go back, I’ll go down myself!”

Lou Fei’Er immediately wanted to jump down.

”Don’t jump.”

”I...” Lou Fei’Er stood at the edge of the pit, clenching her fist, taking a step forward, then stepping back again.

She then pursed her lips, looking at Xu Xin.

It seems that his contract’s constraint is still there.

Then what was up with Zeng Tao earlier?

Influenced by something?

But Lou Fei’Er wasn’t affected.

Could it be...

”There’s something below, and my map ability tells me that now Zeng Tao, Jin Yue, and Qin Fu are already far from us, otherwise I wouldn’t be unable to sense them,” Xu Xin said.

”...So what should we do?” Lou Fei’Er looked at him and asked.

”It’s my turn to act, right?” Li Wenxi suddenly spoke up from the voice comm.

”That’s right. I will use explosive bolts on this dug-out pit, and you can observe the exact location of the explosion using the control panel. If the explosive bolts are ineffective, you fire a delayed explosive heavy crossbow at this location! Ah, not the large-scale ones, just an ordinary one.”

His treehouse’s control panel had long been updated to purple level, with an observable range extended to a kilometer radius. Unfortunately, the jungle has recovered, and the control panel can only see the connected lush canopy, not what’s in the jungle.

But having him guide is enough.

Letting Li Wenxi use the ordinary explosive heavy crossbow can blow a big hole in the ground.

He was really curious about what was below.

”Okay! Got it! I’m ready!”

”Is this method satisfactory?” Xu Xin glanced at Lou Fei’Er and asked.

”...Yeah, um... I’m sorry.” Lou Fei’Er lowered her head, then raised it again, taking a crossbow out of her backpack, ”Let me do it!”

Xu Xin nodded, taking a few steps back.

Lou Fei’Er aimed the crossbow at the pit Zeng Tao had just dug and pulled the trigger immediately.

”Boom!”

Firelight burst from the pit, and Lou Fei’Er swiftly retreated several meters at the instant of the explosion to avoid accidental injury from the blast.

”Oooo...” Keke peeked into the pit.

”Did you see it?” Xu Xin asked into the voice comm.

”Yes, ready to fire anytime,” Li Wenxi’s voice came.

”There seems... no reaction inside.” Lou Fei’Er glanced into the pit and turned her head.

Xu Xin also walked over to take a look.

Indeed, the explosion had left nothing but black ash from burnt explosives below, but the explosive bolts weren’t powerful enough, leaving the pit mostly undamaged.

”Then let’s go big. We back off a bit.”

Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er moved about twenty meters away.

”Alright, Wenxi, go ahead, fire it.”

”Okay! I’m firing it!”

Li Wenxi chose a lobshot approach since there were too many trees blocking direct shots, and 800 meters was too far.

With the mechanical sound of the heavy crossbow clicking, an explosive heavy bolt flew skyward, drawing a perfect arc before plunging into the dug-out pit!

The bolt pierced through the canopy effortlessly, hit the target directly, and lodged into the pit!

”Boom!!!”

A brilliantly bright firelight and a massive explosion roared forth, stirring a considerable shockwave through the jungle!

Debris flew wildly among the trees, and the nearest tree fell with a crash!

This time, that pit was definitely blown apart!

Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er immediately wanted to go over and take a look.

”Ooo!!”

Just as they moved a step, Keke let out a cry, a voice filled with terror and urgency.

Then, it pushed Xu Xin’s face in the opposite direction.

The meaning was clear!

Run, get far away!

Xu Xin instantly understood Keke’s message, his pupils narrowing, he grabbed the about-to-run Lou Fei’Er and dashed in the opposite direction: ”Run! Something’s happening!”

”Huh? What...” Lou Fei’Er hadn’t finished her sentence when suddenly the ground began to tremble!

Moreover, the tremors grew increasingly intense!

The two sprinted over a hundred meters.

By then, the ground’s vibration was so severe that they had to hold onto a tree for balance!

Xu Xin turned back to look: ”What on earth happened?”

”Ah! Xu Xin, run, run!” Li Wenxi’s voice came from the watch, ”From the ground... something is emerging from the ground...”

Her words were drowned out by a tremendous, ground-shattering noise!

Immediately following, a gigantic figure overshadowed the moon and stars in the sky!

”————”

The deafening noise shook the forest, forcing Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er to cover their ears.

”What is that!” Lou Fei’Er screamed loudly.

”Ooo!” Keke buried its little head directly.

In that direction, a colossal entity, tens of meters high, appeared!

The gargantuan gray-white elongated figure was covered in rings of red stripes, with a massive jaw full of rows of sharp teeth at its top, opened to the fullest in the direction of the main treehouse!

A bug!

A giant bug!

A giant bug with a terrifying huge mouth full of sharp teeth!

Below, it turned out to be a giant insect!

”Ah! Xu Xin, all around... more bugs, they’re...!” Lou Fei’Er clutched Xu Xin’s arm tightly.

Xu Xin could feel her beginning to be afraid again!

... Is it another power level suppression?

Wait...

This sound...?

All around, the sound of insects started to rise, gradually getting louder and louder!

Loud to the point where he could barely hear what Lou Fei’Er was fearfully saying or Keke’s whimpering calls!

Swarms of bugs, from who knows where, erupted to fill the entire forest instantly!

What have they stirred up here!

Wait!

Damn it, Zeng Tao and Jin Yue, could it be...!
