Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 845: Chapter 509: New Survivors?

”It’s nothing.” Xu Xin got up from the ground, his brow slightly furrowed.

That pillow just now, in Xu Xin’s hand, was as heavy as a big rock.

Why is that?

And the pen just now too, much heavier than an ordinary pen.

Clearly, it’s a plastic-cased pen, yet it feels as heavy as a gold bar.

His current state, it seems...

Is he being restricted from interfering with the things in this world?

Although he can touch them, he can only affect those insignificant things.

For example, the dust on the subway handrail can be wiped off by him, and just now, the plastic ballpoint pen can be tossed up by him.

But that’s all.

Anything heavier...

He tried to pick up the water cup on the desk, but he couldn’t lift it.

”Bro, you’ve turned into a weakling in this world, huh?” Xu Ying laughed out loud, ”You can’t even lift a cup.”

As she spoke, she looked at the blanket on her bed, ”If I cover you with the blanket, will you be unable to move?”

”...Alright, stop it!” Xu Xin said helplessly. He was indeed powerless right now, and he felt that Xu Ying might really do such a thing, quickly stopping her actions and continuing their previous conversation, ”I don’t want you to forget me. You definitely have to remember me well, otherwise, I completely don’t exist in this world.”

”What do you mean then?”

”But, you shouldn’t discuss me with others anymore. For now, I should only exist in your mind.” Xu Xin said, ”You don’t want others to keep thinking you’re mentally ill or having psychological problems, right?”

”It’s all because of you!” Xu Ying said discontentedly, ”You disappeared without a word, everyone around entirely forgot about you, only I remember. Do you know I almost went crazy at the time! If you hadn’t come back, I might have really lost my mind!”

”I didn’t vanish by choice, alright.” Xu Xin sighed, ”Anyway, you have to tell others that it was your issue before, now you’re normal, and get back to your normal life.”

Xu Ying’s expression was obviously a bit unhappy, muttering, ”Doesn’t that mean admitting that I was mentally ill before... Ah, your eyes are so intimidating. Okay, okay, you don’t care, why should I care.”

Understanding Xu Xin’s current situation, she naturally wouldn’t be as stubborn as before.

She also doesn’t want to be taken as a weirdo all the time.

”That’s good then, also, how long have you dropped out of school?” Xu Xin frowned at her.

”What for? You instigator want to educate me now?” Xu Ying immediately stood with her hands on her hips, glaring at him.

”...Anyway, go back to school tomorrow! Not attending school anymore, you’re really out of line!”

”It’s none of your business! Humph. Fine, I’ll go back.” Xu Ying lay back on the bed, ”I finally figured out your stuff! But you told me so many things about that world, just how am I supposed to study seriously...”

She suddenly sat up, glaring at Xu Xin, ”I used to study hard to get into a better school than you and step over you, now you’re gone, what am I studying for? I might as well drop out and find a decent person to marry!”

She even learned to be sarcastic.

”Well, when I come back, I’ll introduce a few to you, take a look and marry one.” Xu Xin laughed.

”You... you promise to be back soon, I’ll do as you say!” Xu Ying looked at him, a hint of stubbornness in her eyes.

”Alright, I promise.” Xu Xin immediately said.

Anyone can make promises.

But whether he could fulfill it...

He felt a bit unsure.

However, compared to before, he feels more confident now, after all, although he’s not truly back, he sees hope.

At least he’s able to communicate with his sister.

”Hey, maybe you’ll have to stay here in this state forever.” Xu Ying said mischievously, ”If I lock you in the room, you probably can’t even open the door, right bro?”

”You’re getting braver, aren’t you?” Xu Xin said, annoyed.

Then, he looked at his hand.

Though he didn’t know why, deep down he was very aware.

He wouldn’t stay here for long.

He felt he would soon return to the original world, back to that... familiar Crystal Palace.

So, he treasures his time here very much. Although he hasn’t said much useful stuff to his sister, he genuinely feels warm.

These once boring and even somewhat annoying daily moments now seem extremely precious.

There’s nothing more to say, he sat in the chair, continuing to recount his experiences in that world to Xu Ying.

Time slowly passed by, Xu Xin glanced at the clock hanging on the wall.

There’s also time in the subway station, and it’s been nearly two hours since then.

He felt he was getting closer to the limit of his stay.

Perhaps... it’s a deja vu?

As if he had done this before, knowing how long he can stay in this world in this state.

”...Bro, you have too many women around you now, don’t you?”

Xu Ying looked at him with disdain in her eyes, ”Jerk! Sister-in-law Wenxi is so pitiable!”

”...I haven’t done anything, right?” Xu Xin was speechless again, ”After all I’ve told you, this is what you’re concerned about?”
