Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 831: Chapter 504: So Why Is Shi Wanyun Here? (3)

Back then, there were quite a few survivors worldwide, around fifty or sixty people, who received this reward.

Among them was Shi Wanyun.

So, he had every reason to suspect that Shi Wanyun now possessed an affinity amplification, which increased her affinity.

When she was randomly transported to his place, her random amplification happened to be affinity amplification.

Could such a coincidence really exist?

This was the first point that made him feel uneasy.

The second point was what she said to Xu Xin and the others after they met.

Her explanations seemed a bit too much.

Xu Xin hardly said a word, and she basically explained the situation here in full detail.

With an indifferent expression and a gentle tone, she revealed everything about herself to him.

In a very unfamiliar and dangerous environment, she completely exposed her situation to someone she had actually just met for the first time.

Would a normal person do that?

If she had been panicked or joyfully pouring out her words, he might not have thought much of it, but she...

Too calm.

Maybe... it’s just her personality not to express emotions outwardly?

Or maybe, because he is her lifesaver, she was unreserved?

...It’s also possible.

...Damn it.

Xu Xin rubbed his temples.

Right now, due to the effect of affinity, he was coming up with excuses for her to escape suspicion himself.

To be honest, leaving aside his current doubts, he had a very strong liking for Shi Wanyun.

Has such a thing happened before?

No.

It seems that, at least, Shi Wanyun’s affinity amplification could almost be confirmed.

As for why he didn’t echo Lou Fei’Er’s words just now, it’s because...

Just now, Lou Fei’Er and his conversation might have been overheard by her.

After all, if she could have affinity amplification, then... why couldn’t she have hearing amplification as well?

Moreover, her own abilities are still unknown at this point, so it’s best to be a bit careful.

He certainly didn’t want to alert her.

”What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?” Shi Wanyun saw Xu Xin rubbing his temples, immediately approached him, looked into his eyes, and asked with concern.

This behavior was not problematic, after all, he was her lifesaver.

Caring for a lifesaver is perfectly normal for anyone.

But is there any motive behind this behavior...

”I’m fine, just a bit troubled, considering this place is too large, it’s almost impossible to explore it thoroughly.” Xu Xin replied casually.

He didn’t ask Shi Wanyun about the affinity amplification, even if he asked, it would be meaningless.

She would surely say it was just today’s random amplification or she chose this amplification for some reason.

No matter the situation he imagines, all he would get is such an answer.

Also, although she might have come prepared, but... she probably won’t be against him, right? Maybe she did so just to seek refuge?

Damn, influenced by the affinity amplification again, always thinking positively!

She once climbed up that tree, and on that tree...

In short, there might be something suspicious!

I’ll ask about the tree later to test her.

”We’ll just explore that castle, right?” Lou Fei’Er glanced at Shi Wanyun and then said, ”I don’t see anything around here, Keke couldn’t find anything, she fell asleep, let’s speed up!”

Shi Wanyun’s affinity made Lou Fei’Er not very wary of her, but somehow, she just felt a bit uncomfortable with Shi Wanyun’s actions.

As if she saw... a shadow of her former self.

”Hmm, then let’s speed up.” Shi Wanyun said softly, ”A few hundred meters ahead is the insect swarm, you should be careful.”

Xu Xin nodded.

Shi Wanyun, if you are like I suspected, then you truly are as I described before.

Won’t lie.

Because your lies, like before, always try too hard, making others suspicious instead.

Lou Fei’Er just now suspected Shi Wanyun, possibly because a professional saw the flaws. After all, if it weren’t for hearing amplification, he probably would have died from Lou Fei’Er’s extremely thorough acting.

Compared...

Shi Wanyun is still much inferior.

Of course, this is based on the premise that she indeed has a problem.

If she has no problem, then all the better.

The Lone Wolf from Area 1, second strongest region, if there is no problem, he definitely wants to keep her.

The group quickened their pace and soon approached the insect swarm.

Just then, in front of them, near the insect swarm, there was a sound of...

A door being opened?

”What sound is that?” Lou Fei’Er asked, surprised.

Who could it be?!

”The bugs outside are all gone, you can come out!”

Lou Fei’Er’s eyes lit up immediately: ”Ah, it’s Xiaotaozi!”
