Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 843: Chapter 508: She Really Is My Little Sister

”No, I want to be alone for a while.” Xu Ying shook her head.

With that, she walked into the room.

Xu Xin immediately followed her inside.

Their mother, seeing Xu Ying’s stable condition, sighed in slight relief.

Xu Xin followed Xu Ying but didn’t enter her bedroom, instead, he walked into his original room.

”Huh?”

Then he was taken aback.

This room was now decorated like a little girl’s space, completely different from how it was when he left.

Has this room become Xu Ying’s bedroom now?

Oh, right, earlier when he came, she locked herself in this room.

After Xu Xin entered, Xu Ying immediately closed and locked the door.

”Why did you move into my room?” Xu Xin was a bit puzzled.

The family moved to this house when Xu Xin was about to go to college.

Because during high school, he rented an apartment near the school, and in college, he only came back home during the winter and summer holidays and certain family reunions. Usually, he only stayed home for a few days, so his room was actually just a small study with a bed crammed inside.

In fact, back then, this room couldn’t even be considered his room since it also had shared bookshelves and a desktop computer.

But now, this originally a study, has completely turned into Xu Ying’s bedroom.

The bookshelves were gone, replaced by a wardrobe, the computer was moved out, leaving only Yingying’s study desk.

The bed became a large one, and the sheets and decorations all had a girly style.

”Why do you care!” Xu Ying instinctively shot back and then plopped down on the bed, ”I just like living here!”

”Yingying?” came their mother’s worried voice from outside the door, ”Who are you talking to?”

”Ah... I’m talking to myself!” Xu Ying shrunk back and called out hastily towards the door.

Outside, their mother’s slightly relaxed mind tensed up again.

Yingying was definitely talking to someone just now!

...Could it be, she hasn’t gotten better, but instead... has gotten worse?!

She wanted to knock open the door but thought Xu Ying would never let her in, plus, she couldn’t agitate her. Otherwise, if she did something impulsive, the door was locked, and she couldn’t get in at all.

With nothing to do outside, she planned to go out and directly bring the doctor to their home.

She couldn’t let the symptoms worsen!

”Great, now Mom probably thinks your mental illness has worsened, you’re starting to see your fantasy’s beloved brother and talking to the air.” Xu Xin said, spreading his hands.

”...Disgusting!” Xu Ying lowly rebuked him, ”Besides, it’s because of you! If not for you... so what exactly is going on with you?”

Xu Ying, a bit uncertain, looked at Xu Xin, reaching out once again to grab him, but her hand passed through again.

She couldn’t touch him, and others couldn’t see him, which completely overturned her previous understanding.

She even doubted whether she was a lucid mental patient.

”Could it be... you’re really something I imagined?” Xu Ying suspiciously looked at him, touching her smooth chin, ”Is my imagination so strong that I could imagine a brother? Then can I imagine a handsome guy?”

”Hey, your brother is quite handsome, okay?”

”You...?” Xu Ying glanced at him and waved him away with disdain, ”Even if you’re my imagination, I’ve seen that face of yours for over a decade in my memory. I’m sick of it!”

That girl...

”About this matter...”

”Yingying, I have to go out; there’s a patient’s condition at the hospital that requires my attention.” Their mother’s voice came from outside the door as she found an excuse to leave, ”We’ll talk properly when I return.”

Xu Ying’s eyes brightened instantly, and she quickly replied to the door, ”Go on, go on, work is more important.”

Outside, there was the sound of the door opening and closing, followed by silence.

Xu Ying immediately ran to the bedroom door, opened it, and peeked outside. After letting out a sigh of relief, she closed the door and turned around, saying, ”Finally gone, now we can talk freely. Tell me everything you know and don’t know!”

How could I talk about things I don’t know...

Xu Xin shook his head, sat down on the chair at her study desk, and began to recount his bizarre experiences during this time.

Although his narration was calm, the story was full of twists and turns, incredibly eerie.

As a result, Xu Ying, sitting on the bed listening, wore an increasingly strange expression on her face.

Finally, she couldn’t help but interrupt Xu Xin.

”Do I look like a fool?” she stared straight into Xu Xin’s eyes, filled with anger.

Apparently, she didn’t believe it at all.

”...Once you dropped out, you’re indeed kind of foolish.” Xu Xin retorted.

”Well, isn’t that because...!” Xu Ying held back unnecessary words, continuing to stare at him, ”So you’re deceiving me?”

”...Everything I said is true.” Xu Xin shook his head.

”Survival? Treehouse? But... how could there be such...”

”I can appear before you like this, hasn’t that already shattered your perception?” Xu Xin asked back.

”But... you might just be my hallucination.” Although Xu Ying easily became angry before Xu Xin, her mind was still very clear.

Even after talking with him for so long, she still considered the possibility of whether this brother truly existed.

After all, even though she always believed her brother existed, the current situation was that others couldn’t see him, only she could, and she couldn’t touch him.

This indeed made it hard to believe.

Anyone would think it’s a hallucination.

”Hallucination?” Xu Xin picked up a pen from the desk and threw it to her.

Xu Ying instinctively caught it, then widened her eyes, looking at Xu Xin.

”Can a hallucination throw a pen to you? Don’t think you have telekinesis, do you?” Xu Xin laughed.

However, he frowned slightly.

Why does this little pen feel so heavy?

Heavier than a metal block.

And Xu Ying’s lips slightly parted.

It’s real...

It’s really real!!

”...Brother! It really is you!” She suddenly stood up, wanting to hug Xu Xin but had no way to, so she could only stand before him, looking at him excitedly, ”You really do exist! I knew my insistence wasn’t wrong!”

”Yeah.” Xu Xin nodded, showing a slightly bitter smile, ”In this world, probably only you can prove my existence.”

”Hmph, I’ll never forget you! You damn brother!” Xu Ying sat back on the bed, her eyes slightly reddened, but her face carried a joyous smile, ”So, what happened next? Tell me quickly!”

”Where did I stop just now?”

”You talked about catching a wolf as a mount and named it Silver King! What a terrible name...”

Oh right.

Xu Xin instinctively glanced at the wristband on his wrist.

Though the wristband was still there, it no longer had any function, couldn’t store anything, nor could it retrieve anything.

”After that, I...”

Xu Xin continued to narrate his experiences to his sister.

Xu Ying listened intently.
