Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 814: Chapter 499: This Giant Insect Is Actually a Little Cute (4800 Words)

In an instant, the light was too intense, and Xu Xin’s vision was filled with white light.

The wind pressure from the explosion made Xu Xin and Lou Fei’Er, who were in the jungle a hundred meters away, struggle to stand steady.

”Ugh...” Keke buried her little head and curled up in Xu Xin’s arms.

”This explosion is too strong!”

Even though neither had a firm grasp of the situation, Lou Fei’Er couldn’t help but exclaim.

”...Indeed.”

Watching such a fierce explosion from this distance was enough to make one gasp in amazement.

The view in their eyes gradually returned, and the explosion produced a mushroom-like rising smoke again, obscuring the location of the giant insect.

”How is it?” Xu Xin nervously looked towards the direction of the explosion.

”No... I don’t know, but...” Li Wenxi’s nervous voice came from the watch, ”That insect seems to be alive! I can vaguely see its insect body in the smoke!”

Xu Xin watched through the gaps in the dense canopy in the jungle, unable to see the full picture, but Li Wenxi’s position allowed her to.

”It... it is indeed not dead!” Beside him, Lou Fei’Er’s throat moved, and she said in terror, ”I can still feel its oppressive force, and... it seems even stronger! Is it... is it going to get angrier!”

”Ugh...?” Keke let out a puzzled sound.

Xu Xin squinted his eyes.

The insect not dying was already within his expectations.

He never thought that this strike could kill the giant insect.

After all, even the weaker Blood Pattern Giant was only severely injured after being hit by the same strike and still managed to keep its head intact.

Let alone something stronger.

Moreover, the most important thing is, it’s an insect.

The vitality of insects is absolutely not to be underestimated!

Even the ordinary insects on Earth, some can survive after being cut into several pieces, and each piece can even grow into an individual.

The vitality of insects is extraordinarily strong, much more resilient than mammals whose life can be endangered by internal organ damage.

This giant insect is likely the same!

It probably has even stronger vitality!

Even if only its head was blown off, to it, it might not be considered a severe injury.

But...

He didn’t intend to kill the insect; as long as it left, that would be enough.

Hopefully, after this strike, the giant insect would retreat in the face of difficulty.

Right, mind reading!

Now that the surrounding insects have been killed by the explosion, it’s the perfect time for mind reading!

He immediately activated mind reading.

”...It hurts! It hurts so much!!”

In his mind, sharp screams began to echo immediately!

Indeed, it’s not dead.

However, the inner voice gave him some surprise.

This insect is so huge, yet its inner voice is very sharp.

”...Dangerous... too dangerous...”

Its current inner voice made Xu Xin raise an eyebrow and feel a bit pleased.

This guy is starting to retreat!

”Damn... why are the experiment subjects here so strong, it doesn’t make sense... I shouldn’t have come here...”

...?

Xu Xin’s smile froze.

Experiment subjects, is it referring to them?

And that last sentence...

The insect, indeed, had just arrived recently and was the culprit of this insect tide!

”...I want to go back; I don’t want to be here... this isn’t what was promised!”

Promised?

Who did it promise?

The force that sent it here?

But judging from the tone of its inner voice, it doesn’t seem to be controlled by the other side; it’s more like... helping?

At this time, the thick smoke produced after the explosion had dispersed, and the surrounding survivors observing the situation finally saw the situation clearly.

”My god, the insect’s entire head was blown off!”

”Even that terrifying mouth was blown away!”

”Hahaha, this thing is close to dying, right!”

”Damn, this is too thrilling! Why can’t I contact others right now! I want to tell the whole world about this!”

”Wait...! This insect... this insect is still moving!”

”Its head! Its head is growing back!”

”Xu Xin, Xu Xin!” Li Wenxi’s voice was very anxious, even carrying a crying tone, ”The insect’s head it seems is growing! It... its head is about to grow back!”

From Xu Xin’s angle, not much could be seen, but from Li Wenxi’s and the other survivors’ angle, they could clearly see the flesh at the explosion wound of the insect rapidly wriggling and growing; it might only take a few minutes before the blasted-off head grew back!

They only had this one big weapon!

If this didn’t work, they would completely be defenseless!

”What?!” Lou Fei’Er was already struggling under the pressure of the giant insect, and hearing this nearly caused her to collapse, ”Xu Xin, what should we do? What should we do?”

Even the Silver King beneath Xu Xin was very restless; if Xu Xin wasn’t riding on its back, it might have already turned and run away.

”You two don’t panic; it’s okay.”

Xu Xin’s voice was very calm.

Being able to read minds is great; it allows perfect control over the enemy’s psychology and the next move.

This insect’s level is indeed very high, and its inner voice is quite clear, allowing Xu Xin to easily hear it.

Like now.
