Starting Off Survival With A Small Treehouse

Chapter 812: Chapter 498: Another World Awaits

The trees in the direction the insects are moving are falling one by one!

The insects responsible for gnawing at the treehouses are climbing up each tree and quickly devouring them!

The speed at which the trees are falling is much faster than before. In five seconds, a tree covered with insects would fall directly, and in ten seconds, it would be devoured without leaving even wood shavings!

Although not every tree along the way suffers this fate, almost every other tree falls and gets devoured!

This is too fierce!

The insects seem to be trimming the jungle for being too dense!

”The trees are falling down piece by piece! It’s over, it’s over, they’re coming!” Li Wenxi’s voice was very panicked. ”What do we do? What do we do? It seems like we don’t have a way to defend against the insects... huh?”

Li Wenxi’s voice suddenly stopped, followed by a surprised and slightly joyful exclamation.

”Did the campfire work?” Xu Xin immediately asked.

”Yes! Most of those insects have been attracted to the campfires around the treehouse!” Li Wenxi said in surprise. ”I didn’t expect those campfires to attract these swarms controlled by the giant insects!”

Inside the treehouse, the previously chaotic survivors also got excited, and voices even transmitted to Xu Xin through the communication.

”Hahaha, I knew it would be fine, why were you all panicking!”

”Damn, you were the most panicked just now!”

”Staying at Brother Xin’s place is too thrilling!”

It seems like there isn’t much of a problem on the treehouse side.

The giant insect seems only able to control the movement direction of the insects, but that’s about it.

Otherwise, those insects wouldn’t have been distracted by the campfires and would have given up attacking the treehouse.

Insects are no longer emerging from the ground, and the ones around have dispersed. Once again, he saw the silhouette of the giant insect through the gaps in the lush canopy.

A grayish-white, stout, long insect body curved and stood nearly thirty meters high in the air, with circles of blood-red markings now glowing, and its gaping maw emitting an angry roar.

Probably dissatisfied that the insect swarm didn’t attack the treehouse but instead rushed into the fire.

Even so, the giant insect did not approach the treehouse and remained motionless in the air.

Could it not get out?

”Wenxi, don’t use the heavy crossbow yet. Let’s go take a look first.”

How this giant insect emerged from the ground and what changed on the surface, he needed to check it out.

After all, there are still three of his people there; using a powerful weapon without understanding the situation...

”Go over?!” Li Wenxi was shocked.

”Huh?” Lou Fei’Er also sharply turned her head towards him, almost on the verge of tears. ”Are... are you serious?”

”Are you afraid of insects? You didn’t seem as afraid of those giant insects underground.”

”But... but it can summon little insects!” Lou Fei’Er was resisting with all her might, even pulling Xu Xin’s arm in the opposite direction. ”I really can’t handle those tiny squirming things! And... this giant insect is extremely dangerous. You can’t go over there!”

”Yeah, isn’t this too dangerous?” A worried Li Wenxi tried to dissuade him through the voice chat. ”Don’t go over there, isn’t it ideal to attack from this distance with the heavy crossbow?”

”Don’t worry, Keke hasn’t said it’s dangerous, right, Keke?” Xu Xin rubbed Keke, who was perched on his shoulder, looking at the giant insect.

Since the surrounding insects scurried away, Keke had been watching over there.

”Meep...” Keke tilted its little head.

Its expression was as if it discovered something but was unsure.

”Meep!” The little guy pointed a tiny paw forward and squeaked.

Was Keke suggesting for him to go over?

It seems there’s indeed a need to take a look.

”But... but this insect is stronger than the trolls we’ve faced before!” Lou Fei’Er still wanted to persuade Xu Xin not to go.

”Oh? Is that what you feel?”

”Yes! That’s how I feel! Now, I’m not afraid of those high-level mutated creatures like the trolls, but this insect makes me feel scared again!”

Lou Fei’Er firmly grabbed Xu Xin, not wanting him to go over.

As expected, his previous thoughts were right after all.

But...

This giant insect, although it looks high-level, seems unable to move freely.

”Keke said there’s no danger.” Xu Xin gently rubbed Keke’s head.

”Meep...?” Keke tilted its little head but didn’t refute.

”Then what about those three people?” Xu Xin looked at her.

”Ah...” Lou Fei’Er shivered suddenly.

Due to fear and chaos, she had momentarily put it aside, but now recalled it and was hesitant.

”Alright, I’ll go check it out. If you’re scared, I’ll store you in the bracelet.”

”I’ll... I’ll stay outside.” Lou Fei’Er glanced at Xu Xin and shook her head.

Xu Xin raised his head to look at the giant insect that was still occasionally moving slightly in the air and activated his bracelet to unleash the Silver King.

As soon as it came out, it arched its back and bristled all over, baring its teeth and growling low at the distant giant insect.

”Are you really going over? Be careful, I’ll stay connected with you through the call, let me know if you need help!” Li Wenxi advised nervously through the voice chat.

”Okay, I understand.”

Xu Xin immediately mounted the wolf.

The Silver King was much faster. If the giant insect launched an attack on him, he could dodge it thanks to the Silver King’s speed.
