Berserk God of War

Chapter 647: Chapter 647: Three Days Later, the State Preceptor Hosts a Banquet

Master Zhang was perplexed and asked, ”What excuse should we use?”

After a moment of contemplation, Sikong Jing replied, ”Just say that Sikong Jing has heard of the unmatched beauty of the Moon Soul Fairy Gongyang Ying, and he is displeased that she only wishes to marry men from the War Soul Dynasty. He wants to have a good spar with her.”

”Alternatively, you can say that after Sikong Jing has killed Lian Zhuiyu, he claims that Gongyang Ying will be next. Make something up.”

Having left these words behind, Sikong Jing saw that the so-called pursuing troops were now quite far from the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace, so he slipped away from the group, blending into the streets and completely disappearing from sight.

Master Zhang stared blankly at Sikong Jing’s departing figure and for a moment couldn’t make sense of the situation.

What does Mo Ci’s pursuit have to do with the Imperial Advisor Mansion and Gongyang Ying?

But now Master Zhang was fully following Sikong Jing’s orders, and so he led the pursuit team all the way to the Imperial Advisor Mansion. Although he was only a tutor from the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace, his menacing approach still resulted in an audience with Gongyang Ren.

”What did you say? Sikong Jing harbors malicious intentions toward me?”

Gongyang Ying was also present during the audience with the State Preceptor, and when she heard Master Zhang’s account, she couldn’t help but widen her beautiful eyes in astonishment.

”Yes, Sikong Jing said before killing Lian Zhuiyu that Zhuiyu looked as ugly as a pig’s head, unbearable to behold, and then he said he wanted to see what the Moon Soul Fairy looks like. He plans to visit soon.”

”He also said that Miss Gongyang, who has declared she would only marry men from the War Soul Dynasty, has seriously irked him.”

”If he could marry the young miss and take her back to the Long Night Empire, the young elites of the War Soul Dynasty would surely be devastated...”

Master Zhang really did make up as he went along.

However, if Sikong Jing knew that he made up the story this way, he’d definitely want to give him a good beating.

I, Sikong Jing, only said I wanted a spar, yet you’ve spun it as if I also want to take Gongyang Ying back to the Long Night Empire. You’ve sowed the seeds of enmity quite perfectly. If this reaches Yue Xi, you and I are far from done.

Indeed, when Gongyang Ying heard these words, her anger immediately flared to the fullest.

Master Zhang then said, ”Please, Imperial Advisor Gongyang and the Moon Soul Fairy, if you receive any news of Sikong Jing, you must inform our War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace.”

At present, the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace still needed to maintain the facade of relentlessly pursuing Sikong Jing, hence the need to leave such a message.

Thus, Master Zhang led the students in bidding farewell and departed.

”This Sikong Jing is simply too arrogant, to actually fantasize about forcefully taking our young miss back to the Long Night Empire.”

After seeing off Master Zhang and the others, Aunt Mian’s eyes brimmed with murderous intent.

For Miss Gongyang, these words were both lecherous taunts from a disgusting man and a trampling and challenge to the dignity of the War Soul Dynasty. The Long Night Empire was their arch-enemy!

Uttering such boasts as taking the granddaughter of the Imperial Advisor back to the Long Night Empire was a blatant contempt for the War Soul Dynasty and the Imperial Advisor Mansion.

”Hmph, I very much look forward to the arrival of Sikong Jing. I will make sure that he comes... but never returns,” Gongyang Ying’s eyes blazed with a murderous gleam. Recently, she had been tormented by Shihun, and now this despicable man was harassing her, thinking she was as malleable as clay?

Yet she forgot that when she framed Sikong Jing for killing Gong Bei Qiang, she too took pleasure in it.

Such matters can only be considered as each to their own, based on differing stands.

”This Sikong Jing is indeed very bold. Despite being pursued by several parties, he still dares to be so audacious.”

Gongyang Ren also slowly spoke, and suddenly, a sinister glint flashed in his eyes as he drew out a cold, mocking smile.

”Issue my command. Three days from now, the Imperial Advisor Mansion shall host a banquet to entertain the young elites of all parties. Further, spread the word that if Sikong Jing dares to come, and if he can defeat my granddaughter Gongyang Ying, I will revoke the warrant for his arrest and guarantee his safe departure from the War Soul Imperial City.”

The moment these words were spoken, Gongyang Ying widened her eyes in disbelief, and Aunt Mian was also full of confusion.

Considering that the two major academies are now hunting Sikong Jing, why would her grandfather still protect him and allow him to leave the War Soul Imperial City?

”Ensuring his departure from the Imperial Capital doesn’t equate to ensuring his safe exit from the War Soul Dynasty...”

Seeing the incomprehension of the two women, Gongyang Ren stroked his white beard, and smiling, he explained, ”And besides, how could he possibly defeat Ying’er?”

”More accurately, he wouldn’t dare to come.”

”Doesn’t he just want to provoke chaos within the War Soul Imperial City for the sake of the Long Night Empire, to make a name for himself? I’m giving him the opportunity now... If he doesn’t dare to come in three days, what do you think will happen?”

With Gongyang Ren’s explanation, Gongyang Ying and Aunt Mian suddenly realized, exchanging knowing looks.

”If Sikong Jing doesn’t show up, the reputation he’s built these past days will be swept away completely.”

”People will say that the Martial Arts Genius of the Long Night Empire is but a coward, an utter joke.”

Gongyang Ying quickly caught on, his face breaking into a smile.

These days, the name Sikong Jing had spread through every street and alley of the War Soul Imperial City, and everyone knew just how formidable the genius of the Long Night Empire was.

This was extremely detrimental to the prestige of the War Soul Dynasty.

Thus, upon receiving the notification from Master Zhang, Gongyang Ren decided to turn the tables. Regardless of whether Sikong Jing appeared at the Imperial Advisor Mansion or not, there would be no way out for him, either death or a completely tarnished reputation.

This would also indirectly dampen the spirit of the Long Night Empire, boosting the prestige of the War Soul Dynasty.

”Right, if he doesn’t come, he’s just a coward,” Gongyang Ren said, a cruel glint in his eyes.

Hearing her grandfather’s words, Gongyang Ying was full of anticipation for the banquet in three days.

Soon, the news that the Imperial Advisor Mansion would be holding a banquet in three days to entertain the young talents spread like wildfire. Naturally, the provocative words regarding Sikong Jing also spread, and the entire War Soul Imperial City was filled with anticipation...

And the War Soul Star Palace naturally wouldn’t say anything, as they approved of the Imperial Advisor Mansion’s approach of luring the snake out of its hole.

They were just afraid that Sikong Jing wouldn’t dare to show up in three days!

In the War Soul Imperial City, at Wanbao Pavilion.

After escaping from the pursuit of Master Zhang’s team, Sikong Jing came here.

At that moment, a hurried figure approached, exclaiming, ”Junior Brother Sikong, you must see this announcement from the Imperial Advisor Mansion.”

The speaker was none other than Lang Yisuo, Senior Brother Lang of the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace.

Soon after Sikong Jing set off, he had also arrived at the War Soul Imperial City. As it happened, his father, the head boss, had seen merit in his recent performance, and even entrusted him with the management of the Wanbao Pavilion’s business within the War Soul Dynasty.

At the same time, Sikong Jing also needed him to transport some items.

Firstly, the Thousand-year-old White Ginseng could be sent back for treatment to Beigong Xianfeng through the channels of Wanbao Pavilion. Secondly, the new Six Symbols Divine Dragon Sword Skill could be etched into the Green Jade Tube to be given to Shen Qingye...

Lastly, the purpose for Sikong Jing’s visit to Wanbao Pavilion: he needed Wanbao Pavilion to transport some Little Demon Beasts for him.

Now, the demon beasts had been delivered.

Hearing this, Sikong Jing took the notice from Lang Yisuo’s hand and then stood dumbfounded, soon followed by roaring laughter.

”Imperial Advisor Gongyang truly knows me well,” he said.

”I didn’t even know how to exactly time Mo Ci’s appearance at the Imperial Advisor Mansion, but Gongyang Ren has helped me out.”

Although he had let Master Zhang convey the news that he would visit the Imperial Advisor Mansion, Sikong Jing truly didn’t know when Mo Ci would appear. This uncertainty made it difficult for him to gauge...

But now, it was settled. During the banquet at the Imperial Advisor Mansion in three days, Mo Ci would definitely appear.
