Berserk God of War

Chapter 605: Chapter 605: The Soul Stealer, Too Terrifying

Meanwhile, as Gongyang Ying and the others looked at the collapsed cliff, goosebumps covered their bodies and their faces turned pale; they could only retreat in a frenzy, fearing that the cliff might break off again.

Such a chaotic retreat immediately exposed the weaknesses of the Jianghu people: they were disunited.

As they withdrew, there was complete disorder.

”Ahhh...”

Suddenly, screams resounded, and someone yelled, ”There are Soul Stealers under the ground.”

Suddenly, hands sprouted from beneath the leaf-covered ground, pulling one Jianghu person after another down, and the entire team devolved into chaos once more, with shrieks echoing in the forest at the cliff’s edge.

”Everyone, don’t panic, don’t move rashly.”

Gongyang Ying shouted out when she saw the situation, but it was already no use, as the sight of more people being dragged underground sent everyone into even greater panic.

In light of this, Gongyang Ying could only grit her teeth and say to Yan Qihuan and the others, ”All masters of the Extraordinary Realm, immediately search underground for the Soul Stealers, even if it’s just to capture one alive.”

Now they must at least capture one Soul Stealer, as that would give them a chance to rally their spirits.

Boom, boom, boom...

Masters of the Extraordinary Realm sprang into action, bombarding the ground, instantly causing a swirl of falling leaves to rise.

The scene became even more chaotic, and then the screams stopped abruptly, leaving nothing behind; the Soul Stealers had vanished as soon as they realized the masters of the Extraordinary Realm had retaliated.

Even though holes were blasted one after another, not a single person could be found.

And when everything finally calmed down, they discovered they had lost a total of ten thousand people.

”Gulp...”

All swallowed hard, looking around in panic.

They felt as if many things were watching them, yet they could not find anything at all.

The feeling was too eerie, too terrifying!

”Swoosh...”

Suddenly, a message arrived abruptly, landing in Yan Qihuan’s hands. After a few glances, he said, ”The Moon Soul Fairy, the secret Daoist Martial Team discovered a hiding spot of the Soul Stealers, just five kilometers ahead in a depression.”

Gongyang Ying was startled, then she also received a message, coming from the Moon Soul Group.

The message conveyed was exactly the same as the one Yan Qihuan received...

Gongyang Ying took a deep breath and said, ”Everyone, do not panic, we have discovered one of the Soul Stealers’ trap points. There are about five thousand people there. Now let’s go together and counterattack them.”

Again, Gongyang Ying had utmost trust in the Moon Soul Group.

And so, everyone adjusted their state of mind and set off together, stopping at the four-kilometer mark.

After observing, Gongyang Ying then ordered, ”Send thirty thousand people to strike in, others on guard.”

This time, she was very confident.

Because the Moon Soul Group was still monitoring those five thousand Soul Stealers hidden in the depression, and she had received numerous messages along the way, the Soul Stealers had not moved, which proved they hadn’t noticed their approach.

Thirty thousand people launched an assault while Gongyang Ying and Yan Qihuan stood by at the far rear, on alert for other possible emergencies.

Just like that, the thirty thousand quietly pressed towards their target.

As they drew near, Gongyang Ying called out, ”Fire arrows...”

Whiz, whiz, whiz...

Streaks of arrow light shot out, and the sounds of impact followed.

Blossoms of blood erupted, and at the same time, the Soul Stealers were heard screaming loudly, ”We’ve been discovered, run fast!”

The five thousand so-called Soul Stealers scrambled out, their sense of panic utter and complete.

”Chase them, kill them.”

The thirty thousand people at the forefront, upon seeing this, immediately charged into the fray.

However, just at that moment, Gongyang Ying suddenly felt that something was off, a very bad premonition, and shouted, ”Don’t chase, stop!”

Unfortunately, the people of Jianghu are just that—people of Jianghu; they simply do not follow orders, especially not when faced with such a golden opportunity.

Then those thirty thousand met with tragedy.

A thunderous boom sounded as the Soul Stealers’ ambush point collapsed entirely. The thirty thousand plummeted down, screaming piercingly, while the Soul Stealers in the midst of their escape stopped in their tracks.

Looking back, their faces bore no trace of the panic from moments before.

Instead, they burst into collective laughter, with one voice shouting, ”Hahaha... I knew you guys were watching us from behind, and this is the pit we’ve prepared for you. Come on over!”

One by one, they extended one hand and curled their fingers towards the direction of Gongyang Ying and Yan Qihuan.

”Gongyang Beauty, our Boss wants to take you as his wife. Come over here!”

Another voice joined in, drowning the air with laughter.

Suddenly, beneath the red veil, Gongyang Ying’s face flushed with unfathomable anger. This was yet another trap, deliberately set by exploiting the communication channels of the Moon Soul Group and the Daoist Martial Team—absolute scoundrels!

”Soul Stealer, how dare you humiliate Miss Gongyang, I will kill you all.”

At that moment, Aunt Mian was also furiously upset, having felt too stifled on the journey, and she couldn’t help but unleash all her strength as she rushed in.

She stepped on the collapsing pit, vanishing like an apparition as she shot forward.

”Aunt Mian, don’t be reckless, get back here!” Gongyang Ying, seeing this, was terrified and immediately shouted for her to stop.

Although Aunt Mian was a powerhouse of the First Realm of Inquiry, facing the multitudinous Soul Stealers was still too dangerous, and who knew what other moves they might have, she could only shout out loud.

But it was too late, Aunt Mian had already charged above the pit.

Then suddenly, with a swishing sound, a net emerged from the collapsed pit with a flurry of dust, shooting straight towards Aunt Mian.

In an instant, Aunt Mian was entangled by the net...

But she was full of confidence and scoffed, ”You think this shabby net can trap me?”

Having said that, True Qi burst forth, intending to shred the net into pieces, but the next moment, she froze. The True Qi retracted without warning, and then she screamed, ”Bastards, this net is poisoned...”

”Haha, how else could we deal with the high-level experts among you without some poison?” laughed the five thousand Soul Stealers wildly.

As the words fell, the Soul Stealers started to pull at the net that trapped Aunt Mian, emitting sounds that were unutterably wicked.

Gongyang Ying’s eyes almost burst with rage as she half-whispered, half-shouted, ”Moon Soul Team, rescue her.”

The Moon Soul Team wasn’t supposed to reveal themselves at this time, but now they had no choice.

Swish, swish, swish...

The hidden masters of the Moon Soul Team finally appeared.

One after another, they emerged and slashed fiercely through the net, rescuing Aunt Mian from the clutches of the Soul Stealers...

At the same time, Gongyang Ying commanded with overwhelming fury, ”Go, capture a few of the Soul Stealers alive for me.”

Following her command, some carried Aunt Mian back, while others charged at the Soul Stealers...

”Capture us alive? In your next life!”

Suddenly, the Soul Stealers broke into macabre laughter.

Gusts of wild wind rose from behind them as Flying Demon Beasts burst forth from the forest... The five thousand Soul Stealers lightly leaped aboard, riding the flying beasts and turned to flee.

In the blink of an eye, they vanished without a trace, leaving only their malevolent laughter echoing behind.

The Moon Soul Team had no mounts and could not possibly catch up. Even if they wanted to mount and give chase, they wouldn’t have had the time, and even if they had, it would be useless. In the air, they could be overwhelmed and killed by five thousand Flying Knights.

In the end, not a single Soul Stealer was captured.
