Chapter 624: Chapter 624: The Personal Guard of the Moon Soul Fairy

As soon as Gongyang Ren said these words, Gongyang Ying was stunned.

Her eyebrows tightly furrowed, she still shook her head, insisting, ”This must be his tactic to clear his name. I’ve encountered this man before; he is beyond redemption.”

Facing his granddaughter’s stubbornness, Gongyang Ren also felt somewhat helpless, as he had been deceived quite severely.

”How about this, let him be your personal guard for a few days, give him some promises, and see how he behaves before deciding.”

Her grandfather’s abrupt decision made Gongyang Ying widen her eyes in surprise.

”Also, I always feel that this man is not so simple, and he might have other motives. You should observe him closely.”

Upon hearing this, Gongyang Ying finally agreed and then she left the pavilion.

At that moment, Gongyang Ren called out, ”Someone come here, keep a close watch on Soul Eater, do not let him leave your sight for even two hours a day.”

The more he observed the situation in Wang Hun State, the more he felt there was something off about Soul Eater, yet it seemed there was nothing wrong.

His prowess in Military Dao stood out because he was originally a general; his strength in Martial Arts was strong because he was originally a disciple of Tieshan Sect.

But for some reason, Gongyang Ren just could not feel at ease.

Meanwhile, Gongyang Ying, accompanied by Aunt Mian, proceeded within the Imperial Advisor Mansion. Aunt Mian, with a fierce expression, said, ”Miss, what was the Imperial Advisor thinking, allowing this Soul Eater to be your personal guard?”

Aunt Mian was very indignant about this.

Soul Eater was too evil, the risk too great; who knows what could happen if he stayed close to Miss.

”It seems grandfather suddenly appreciates Soul Eater quite a lot; there are hardly any who could disadvantage him. He might really be planning to promote him.” Gongyang Ying felt extremely annoyed, speaking in an equally annoyed tone.

In the end, grandfather even praised him commendably.

Aunt Mian then twitched her mouth. The grandfather and granddaughter of the Imperial Advisor had indeed never suffered such a setback before.

”Anyway, I won’t let this scoundrel stay close to me for too long. I must find a way to catch him out, to possess a secret about him that he can’t reveal publicly,” Gongyang Ying gritted her teeth and said.

With that, Gongyang Ying was set on uncovering the secrets of the Soul Eater Leader.

That way, the secret of the Moon Soul Battle Body won’t become her Achilles’ heel; she can’t always let Soul Eater lead her by the nose.

Thinking this, they made their way to Sikong Jing’s resting room.

Upon seeing Sikong Jing, Gongyang Ying took a set of clothes from Aunt Mian and threw them out, saying, ”From now on, you are my personal guard, and from hereafter, you’ll follow Aunt Mian’s orders.”

Taking the guard uniform, Sikong Jing was stunned and said, ”Personal guard? Shouldn’t you be relegating me to some corner?”

This was truly beyond Sikong Jing’s expectations. Logically, Gongyang Ying definitely wouldn’t want him to clear his name and would surely try to throw him into a forgotten corner of the Imperial Advisor Mansion.

However, that didn’t happen...

And Sikong Jing really didn’t want to be any personal guard; right now, he needed to conceal himself.

Still, that’s it, he wanted to lay a trap for Mo Ci!

For this, he even had naughtily made Gongyang Ying cry by being too headstrong... and yet he ended up having to be the personal guard.

To Sikong Jing’s reaction, Gongyang Ying’s eyebrows shot up, and she sharply retorted, ”I also think, I even less want to see you, but my grandfather says you have potential, so you should stay by my side for now.”

Uh...

Sikong Jing was truly at a loss for words, helplessly saying, ”How about, Miss, you talk to the Imperial Advisor and let me just stay in some corner?”

At this remark, it was Gongyang Ying’s turn to be at a loss for words, and then she became furious.

”To be my personal guard, is that a grievance to you?”

She was simply about to explode with rage, as many men were desperately trying to get close to her, yet this Soul Eater actually refused.

And wasn’t he thinking of making a comeback?

Staying by someone’s side must be better than hiding in a corner, what kind of nonsense idea is that?

”That’s not necessarily true, I’m just afraid of being misunderstood, I have my own devoted lover,” Sikong Jing could only make excuses, ”Besides, I don’t want people to say I’m living off a woman, that it’s because of Miss Gongyang that I have a chance to succeed.”

Her mouth agape, Gongyang Ying was utterly confounded by Sikong Jing.

Aunt Mian couldn’t help her fury, barking, ”You’re just a lowly guard, who could misunderstand that? Which family’s young mistress could be misunderstood to be involved with a guard? Aren’t you too full of yourself?”

In response, Sikong Jing’s lips twitched, and he reluctantly agreed.

Further argument would probably raise suspicions; Gongyang Ren was not so easily fooled.

Thus, Gongyang Ying left angrily with Aunt Mian, and Sikong Jing was reassigned to another room, inside the guard quarters within where Gongyang Ying resided, he now served as a personal guard.

Staying in the room, Sikong Jing glanced out the window and murmured in secret, ”As expected, someone is watching me.”

Two figures were lurking outside deeply hidden, but how could they escape the eyes of the Master of Ten Thousand Beasts?

”Gongyang Ren really suspects me.”

”He will probably send someone to find Lu Lungan to verify my identity, I won’t be staying at the Imperial Advisor Mansion much longer...”

The Tieshan Sect wouldn’t care whether he’s truly a Disciple, but Lu Lungan would definitely care that he’s a forsaken General.

Soon, just as Lu Lungan sends someone, his fake identity could be exposed, and this certainly won’t take long.

Maybe just ten or fifteen days...

Which means, Sikong Jing could only keep up this disguise for another ten or fifteen days, after which he would definitely be exposed as the fake Soul Eater Leader.

”I must quickly draw Mo Ci here.”

Sikong Jing thought secretly; after arriving, he certainly couldn’t just wait idly, not knowing if Mo Ci would come.

After all, it had already been two months since he infiltrated the War Soul Dynasty... Perhaps, Mo Ci might have come and left without finding anyone.

Thus, Sikong Jing must provoke the snake out of its hole, but now being Gongyang Ying’s personal guard gave him a headache.

The reason he chose the Imperial Advisor Mansion as the ambush site was also strategic.

Because inside the Imperial Advisor Mansion, there were powerful masters and powerful demon beast mounts, all of which could be used as leverage.

And there were also Martial Arts Arrays available to hide his and the Iron Bone Flying Vulture’s presence, delivering a fatal strike to Mo Ci; otherwise, getting close to Mo Ci elsewhere would be extremely difficult.

Now, staying by Gongyang Ying’s side, he could very likely be detected by Mo Ci at the first moment, and that would not constitute an ambush.

”It seems, I still need to think of a plan,” Sikong Jing said quietly.

...

Time flew by and three days passed in an instant.

Since Gongyang Ying had not left the house, Sikong Jing, as a personal guard, naturally just stayed obediently in the mansion, and even so, Gongyang Ren’s surveillance never ceased.

But, Sikong Jing didn’t mind.

During these three days, he constantly used the Little Demon Beast to familiarize with all the arrangements inside the Imperial Advisor Mansion.

Finally, on the fourth day, Aunt Mian appeared and coldly told him, ”Get ready, you’re going out with the young mistress.”

A glint flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes, the opportunity had arrived.

He promptly put on his guard uniform, then set out with Gongyang Ying’s Unihorn Thousand-step Horse carriage, accompanied not only by Aunt Mian, a Dao Inquiry Realm powerhouse, but also several members of the Moon Soul Group.

The two supervisors from Gongyang Ren also followed closely behind.
