Berserk God of War

Chapter 612: Chapter 612: Beast Blood Soldiers, Willing to be Thieves?

Early the next morning, as the sunlight arrived on schedule, Gongyang Ying stepped out of her room without having slept well.

By then, Sikong Jing had already taken his seat at the same stone table as the day before. Seeing her come out with a weary face, he smiled and said, ”Good morning, Miss Gongyang. I have had breakfast prepared for you. Please, have a seat.”

Gongyang Ying stared at Sikong Jing with an expressionless face, trying to read the war situation of Wuwang City from his countenance.

But she could not see through him at all.

Eventually, she sat down with insouciant grace, wanting to ask but feeling too anxious, she held herself back. Picking up her chopsticks, she took a piece of tofu and put it in her mouth. It melted instantly, the taste exceptional!

Gongyang Ying couldn’t help but praise, ”This tofu is excellent. Seems that even among the Soul Stealers, there are those with such culinary skills.”

Her words were sincere.

And she needed to continue appearing even more nonchalant, lest she be looked down upon by mere mountain bandit leaders.

”Miss Gongyang, you are mistaken,”

Sikong Jing looked at her with a smile that was not quite a smile and said, ”This is not the work of a Soul Stealer chef. This tofu comes from Lord of Wuwang City’s private cook. If you like it, Miss, please eat more.”

As expected, the casually composed Gongyang Ying’s chopsticks began to tremble in her hand as she stared at Sikong Jing in disbelief.

”Wuwang City...”

Unable to hold back any longer, Gongyang Ying finally voiced her question, only to be interrupted by Sikong Jing, ”Miss Gongyang, would you like to know about the war situation in Wuwang City? It would be better for Lord of the Wuwang City to tell you himself.”

No sooner had his voice fallen, Sikong Jing clapped his hands together.

At once, there were roars from outside the courtyard: ”Let me go, you bastards, let me go...”

Following that, a middle-aged man was brought in by the Soul Stealers, and if it wasn’t the Lord of Wuwang City who she had seen a few days ago, then who else could it be?

Behind him, all the core figures of Wuwang City were being held captive by the Soul Stealers.

Unconsciously, Gongyang Ying had already stood up.

Across from her, the Lord of Wuwang City froze the moment he saw Gongyang Ying and then began to shriek hysterically, ”Miss Gongyang, Wuwang City has been taken! The Soul Stealers launched a surprise attack overnight and have occupied the entire city.”

With his eyes bloodshot and tears streaming down his face, he said, ”All the crucial figures from the important positions in Wuwang City have been captured as well.”

Following this, the others who were behind the Lord of Wuwang City also began to shout out, confirming the truth of the matter. Before dawn, Wuwang City had already fallen into the hands of the Soul Stealers, the city’s defenses no sturdier than paper.

The Soul Stealers were simply too terrifying.

Gongyang Ying trembled all over and abruptly turned to Sikong Jing, ”Soul Eater Leader, this is no longer the work of thieves, but that of rebels.”

To take down a city was openly rebelling!

”Miss Gongyang is exaggerating. I am merely raising the stakes,” Sikong Jing said indifferently, shrugging his shoulders. He then ordered the Soul Stealers of the 66th Army holding the Lord of Wuwang City, ”Take the Lord of Wuwang City down with the other Jianghu people, and strip him of everything on his person.”

”Also, let Die Lian assign them some farm work to do.”

”They might be staying with us for a while, so they can’t live off us for nothing.”

Sikong Jing’s voice was completely indifferent, but its content nearly made the people of Wuwang City vomit blood. They were to perform farm work, unbefitting of their status, something they had never done before. Even as captives, they expected to be treated with courtesy.

However, regardless of how aggrieved or resentful they were, they were still forcibly taken away.

Afterwards, Sikong Jing called over Ning Jingjing, saying, ”Wuwang City is too weak. Let Sui Yu continue the assault. Tomorrow, I want to see the Lord of Mowang City... Remember, after taking it down, send over some local delicacies.”

Pausing, Sikong Jing pointed at Gongyang Ying with a smile, ”Miss Gongyang said she would like to taste all the delicacies of Wang Hun State.”

Ning Jingjing gave a slight smile and went to carry out her orders.

”When did I say I wanted to try every delicacy?”

Gongyang Ying’s heart was roaring, her fists clenched tightly as she glared at Sikong Jing and shouted, ”Soul Eater, you’re so crazed, indifferent to the stability of the War Soul Dynasty, aren’t you afraid of being struck by lightning?”

”Haha...”

Sikong Jing burst into laughter upon hearing this, ”It’s Miss Gongyang who’s disregarding the stability of the War Soul Dynasty. I’ve put forth a bargaining chip; all you had to do was agree to resolve everything, but you thought it insufficient.”

After a few laughs, Sikong Jing stepped out of the courtyard, no longer paying any attention.

Don’t forget, Sikong Jing is, strictly speaking, a man of the Long Night Empire -- the sworn enemy of the War Soul Dynasty, in a fight to the death.

He led the 66th Army deep into the War Soul Dynasty; wasn’t that dangerous?

This was also about a war fought for the Long Night Empire, or more precisely, for Beigong Xianfeng.

War, mercy to the enemy is cruelty to one’s own people. Invincible God General Sikong Jing would surely understand this.

If it were Gongyang Ying entering the Long Night Empire, perhaps she’d be even more ruthless.

”Bastard, I absolutely cannot sit here and wait for death.”

Gongyang Ying’s fists crackled as she clenched them until Sikong Jing vanished; finally, she couldn’t resist dashing out of the courtyard.

But as soon as she stepped out, she was surrounded by people, unmistakably Lian Guang and the Absolute Night Wolf Guards.

”Miss Gongyang, where are you going?” Lian Guang asked.

In an instant, Gongyang Ying looked at the surrounding Absolute Night Wolf Guards in astonishment and exclaimed, ”Beast Blood Soldiers.”

Right then and there, Gongyang Ying realized that the Absolute Night Wolf Guards were the elite Beast Blood Soldiers of the dynasty.

Lian Guang just shrugged, offering no answer.

But he was on high alert; Gongyang Ying was a supreme Martial Arts Genius, and Commander Sikong had instructed to be careful with her.

As expected, Gongyang Ying shouted, ”With just you, you want to stop me... ”

She really could no longer bear it and wanted to go out and save people, even if she couldn’t save them, she wanted to vent her frustration by killing a few soul thieves. She didn’t take these Beast Blood Soldiers seriously at all, and resolved to kill them first.

”As Beast Blood Soldiers of the dynasty, you choose to be thieves. You all deserve to die.”

Fury overflowed as Gongyang Ying roared, wildly attacking the Absolute Night Wolf Guards... but soon she realized her mistake, the Beast Blood Soldiers before her were terrifyingly strong, each one of them among the elites of soldiers.

Hundreds of Absolute Night Wolf Guards attacked her together, and for a moment, she could not fend them off.

Ultimately, Gongyang Ying was fiercely forced back into the courtyard.

Meanwhile, Lian Guang stood on the wall of the courtyard and said, ”Miss Gongyang, our Boss said he’ll overlook it this one time. If you try again, he will start by killing a thousand people for fun.”

After speaking, Lian Guang leaped back outside the courtyard, continuing to lead the Absolute Night Wolf Guards in their vigilance.

Left alone, Gongyang Ying shook violently, she, ranked 31 on the East Plain Thousand Dominator List and the treasured granddaughter of the State Preceptor, now found herself trapped in the hands of mere soul thieves, unable to even leave.

”Why does Soul Eater have such terrifying Beast Blood Soldiers, where did he get them from?”

What’s more terrifying was this question: Beast Blood Soldiers were the war blades of the War Soul Dynasty, and the top Beast Blood Soldiers were hardly inferior to the War Soul Harvest Soldiers; yet these men had turned bandit.

When Gongyang Ying first saw these hundreds of Beast Blood Soldiers, she was infuriated.

”Rumor has it that Soul Eater was once a general under Lu Lungan. What in the world happened back then?”

Now that she had calmed down a bit, she couldn’t help but to mutter.

Having control of Beast Blood Soldiers, Soul Eater Leader must have witnessed some significant event while in Lu Lungan’s army.

Of course, this question was not one she could answer at the moment.
