Berserk God of War

Chapter 626: Chapter 626: Academy Exchange Meeting

”Qiu Baichu, what qualifies you to call out Senior Brother Dou? You haven’t even touched the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List,”

an apprentice from the War Soul Star Palace yelled at the person who had just shamefully mocked others.

At that moment, a man from atop the Demon Dragon descended to the ground and offered a fist salute to Gongyang Ying.

”Qiu Baichu, Chief of the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace, pays respects to Miss Gongyang,”

The man turned around and said to the crowd from the War Soul Star Palace, ”Indeed, I haven’t made it onto the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List. However, ranking in the 900s is hardly worth mentioning. Do you know what rank Sikong Jing from the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace has achieved?”

”98th, and he’s just an apprentice from a Subacademy of one of the Three Great Academies. What’s there for you guys at the War Soul Star Palace to be proud of?”

As soon as these words were spoken, Sikong Jing, who had been watching the spectacle, was stupefied, and then his mind became a mess.

He was ranked in the top hundred in the new East Plain Thousand Tyrant List? How could this be?

Could it be that, despite his careful concealment, he was still discovered by the unerring Overlord Commerce?

No, if he had been discovered, his ranking would not be just 98th, but closer to Gongyang Ying’s... Perhaps it was a rank calculated by Overlord Commerce, based on his previous rate of progress.

Damn it, Overlord Commerce is really going to kill someone.

Not only entering the top hundred but also achieving 98th rank... This position might be inadvertently seen by his sister Sikong Ling. What’s even scarier is that, like with this Qiu Baichu, his reputation in the East Plain Northern Land is growing bigger.

Now, one could easily hear his name within the War Soul Dynasty.

Sikong Jing’s fists were clenched so tightly that they cracked.

He felt an even more urgent need to slay Mo Ci and was extremely eager for the fail-safe ”Supreme Forget Love Technique.”

Of course, no one here could understand Sikong Jing’s current turmoil. The apprentices from the War Soul Star Palace shouted, ”What a joke, no matter how strong Sikong Jing is, he’s just a student from the Long Night Holy Dragon Academy... Not right, he’s not even a student of the Holy Dragon Academy anymore.”

”Exactly, what does it have to do with you if you have no connection to Sikong Jing?”

”The War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace, all you know is to bully by flaunting powerful connections, absolutely hilarious.”

The apprentices from the War Soul Star Palace relentlessly mocked Qiu Baichu and others, striking with madness.

”Hmph, everyone knows what happened with Sikong Jing being expelled from the Long Night Saint Dragon Palace. Anyway, he’s from a Subacademy of our Holy Dragon Academy. Has any Subacademy of your Xingluo ever had a student within the top hundred of the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List?”

”It seems that historically, not a single one, right?”

The apprentices from the War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace also retorted, and all of a sudden, the two major academies were at daggers drawn.

No matter how the Holy Dragon General Academy tried to profit, the deadly rivalry between Subacademies had always remained unchanged, turning green with envy upon sight of each other.

While the two sides were bickering non-stop, a few simple and old-fashioned horse-drawn carriages approached.

A woman’s voice came down from one of the carriages.

”War Soul Sacred Dragon Palace, War Soul Star Palace... you guys are still so funny.”

”No matter how much you fight, you’re no match for our Heavenly Dao Academy. Whether it’s Long Night or War Soul Subacademies, we have students on the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List in all of them, almost every Subacademy of ours has achieved that.”

Upon her words, students from both Xingluo Palace and Holy Dragon Palace stopped their shouting and said coldly in unison, ”War Soul Heavenly Dao Palace, Xu Youyou.”

The woman on the carriage, named Xu Youyou, was indeed the Chief apprentice of the War Soul Heavenly Dao Palace, an individual ranked in the 600s on the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List. And as she said, the Long Night Heavenly Dao Palace also had positions on the East Plain Thousand Tyrant List.

And Sikong Jing was well aware that among the Three Great Academies, the Heavenly Dao Academy was the strongest.

This trip turned out to be rather interesting, as it was a gathering of the subacademies of the War Soul Dynasty, which most likely indicated an exchange meeting between academies. Gongyang Ying must have been invited to attend.

At that moment, Gongyang Ying indeed stepped forward and gently said, ”Everyone, please stop arguing. I’ve heard that students from the Main Academy will participate in this exchange meeting, which should be seen as an important opportunity for enhancing one’s Martial Arts.”

With these words, a glint of excitement flashed in Sikong Jing’s eyes—it appeared that students from the three Main Academies would be attending.

This made things even more interesting.

Coaxed by Gongyang Ying, the apprentices from the three subacademies eventually calmed down, although each still glared at each other with an unyielding demeanor, reminiscent of bulls locking horns.

Ultimately, everyone was welcomed by the War Soul Star Palace and proceeded to enter.

Clearly, the main venue for this exchange meeting was set at the War Soul Star Palace.

As soon as he entered, Aunt Mian coldly said to Sikong Jing, ”Go take care of the horse carriage, and remember to feed the Thousand-step Horse...”

Without showing a pleasant face, she threw a bundle of the Thousand-step Horse’s favorite feed at Sikong Jing.

Gongyang Ying naturally did not say anything either, and chatted amiably as she walked away with the people from the three subacademies.

Apparently, she really disliked having Sikong Jing around, and found it quite refreshing to give him the kind of work meant for a servant.

After watching the group leave, Sikong Jing still maintained a carefree smile. He turned to the apprentice from the Star Palace beside him, and was then led by these apprentice-serfs to the War Soul Star Palace’s horse pens.

After settling the horse in the pen and finishing the feeding, Sikong Jing turned to leave.

He pondered what to do next when suddenly, a lofty voice called out...

”This horse pen isn’t bad, throw that Unihorn Thousand-step Horse out for me.”

At those words, Sikong Jing’s head snapped up.

He saw a group of people arriving at the other end of the pen, several of them riding large black horses with faint starlight shimmering in their fur, clearly a breed even more noble and rare than the Unihorn Thousand-step Horse... the Starlight Warhorse.

These individuals were also dressed in Star Robes, but their apparel was different from Dou Youchuan’s.

They were, like Ji Tingyue whom he met at the Long Night Peng Family, students from the Xingluo General Academy.

In the next instant, a middle-aged man burst forth, commanding the apprentices in front of the pen, ”Are you deaf? These are students from the Xingluo General Academy. Have you not thrown out the Unihorn Thousand-step Horse yet?”

The middle-aged man also wore a Star Robe and was a high-ranking member of the War Soul Star Palace, currently entertaining the students from the Xingluo General Academy.

”Vice Master Dou, this, this...”

The complexions of the apprentices changed drastically, and then one apprentice stuttered out his response, unconsciously glancing towards Sikong Jing.

But before he could finish... smack!

A harsh slap resounded upon the face of the lead apprentice.

With a cry of pain, the apprentice was violently slapped away, and the one who dealt the blow stepped forward, the very man the apprentices referred to as Vice Master Dou, that is, the middle-aged man.

He bellowed, ”How dare you give me excuses, can’t you even act like dogs?”

As he spoke, Vice Master Dou turned back with a beaming smile toward the students from Xingluo General Academy, saying, ”Young masters and ladies, these apprentices really don’t know their place. I will surely discipline them severely.”

”Now, I will personally throw out the Unihorn Thousand-step Horse.” Having said this, Vice Master Dou walked towards the luxurious pen.

The next instant, the corners of Sikong Jing’s mouth curved slightly as he turned around slowly and said, ”Vice Master Dou, right? If you dare touch the Unihorn Thousand-step Horse, believe it or not, I will kill you.”
