Surviving The Fourth Calamity

’Snow Cloud Peak’ stood behind his tall teammates, cautiously observing Josh, who stood silently at the center, staring at the buzzing scene.

This Dawn Believer seemed intent on using his identity and authority to make the Undead Tribe automatically and consciously shut up.

It was clear that he must not have been beaten, having left Toril very early on.

Otherwise, even if their leader was Shaer and Celene, he wouldn’t be so reserved when communicating with the Undead Tribe.

The proud Silvermoon Archbishop of Deepwater City eventually had to wear the most luxurious dress and hold a megaphone conch to shout in embarrassment.

Of course, in the end, she only dared to use the loudest voice and the simplest words to clarify things, completely avoiding any nonsense like ’show enough respect to the Silvermoon Holy Mother’ or ’speak out again and you’re out’.

And Lansendel’s High Priest from Deepwater City was very tolerant towards the Undead Tribe from the beginning, never saying much.

Even when he needed the Undead Tribe to do something, he often directly released missions at Agleya’s place.

He would definitely not be like that foolish Silvermoon Archbishop who thought that a few silver coins could command the Undead Tribe.

If Celene hadn’t stepped in to smooth things over... Shaer would probably have been happy to see the outcome.

In Toril, not everything can become an official mission for the Undead Tribe.

After all, their journey to Toril was by an invitation from Coron, and in the end, only a few deities could participate.

Although Celene was somewhat involved, due to certain reasons, she didn’t meddle much.

Therefore, the Silvermoon Cathedral’s tasks mostly involved working for money.

As for the Undead Tribe, with money tasks, naturally, everything depends on the amount.

The small Silvermoon chapel in Agleya doesn’t even look down on the contributions of the Undead Tribe!

There are silver coin tasks, but they definitely match the Undead Tribe’s hardships.

Thinking a few silver coins would make them shed the effort equivalent to gold, of course, that person would have to suffer!

Of course, compared to being considered brainless and shortsighted by their own Main God for being reckless, that Silvermoon Archbishop might prefer to endure this instead.

Possibly because this Silvermoon Archbishop of Deepwater City is so well-known, subsequent people seeking help from the Undead Tribe knew the rules and mainly published official missions at those few mission halls.

William wouldn’t charge them extra.

Although they required full advance payment for each mission posted, the fee was only 1 gold!

Is there a deity more generous than this?

Of course, this also stopped some special missions for avenging the common people, like those of Teraxil.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ actually understood why.

If William were to do such things in Toril, what about Tyr?

As long as he didn’t want to overreach, there were certain lines he wouldn’t cross.

If the Undead Tribe spontaneously acted against someone without a mission, it wouldn’t concern him... without divine interference, it naturally becomes a display of human nature.

There would be no benevolent deities daring to openly condemn this.

The ecosystem of Toril is too complex.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ observed for a long time, discovering that the faction he most agreed with was the Silvermoon Cathedral.

Although they were arrogant and domineering, looking down on the common people, treating them like dogs... they truly considered the interests of the people, ensuring those washerwomen’s rights with their mighty strength without seeking anything in return.

They didn’t even require them to offer real sacrifices, just genuine gratitude towards Celene sufficed.

The other equally generous one was Lansendel.

Two troublemakers of Toril, yet the most transcendent... while other deities were more or less bound by belief and the church.

Including Tyr’s Righteous Knights.

They always face difficulties, as maintaining a knight corps like theirs is not easy at all.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ had been enjoying this period.

He’s always loved studying human nature, but in the real world, even he didn’t want to delve too deep into certain things.

How should I put it... at least on the surface, everything seems fine, so let’s just pass it by!

Who really wants to look into the shadow under their feet?

Yet in Toril, even sin is intriguing.

Light and darkness, good and evil can switch instantly due to different perspectives!

’Snow Cloud Peak’ really felt he could stay in Toril until the end of his life.

Just like Josh at this moment.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ observed with keen interest.

This is truly the rarest type among Lansendel’s followers.

Generally speaking, they wouldn’t appear in front of the Undead Tribe... most are exploring the mysteries of the world in some remote corner.

To put it bluntly, they are explorers who find a place Lansendel might be interested in amid those uninhabited scenic areas to build him a cathedral or even a Dawn Tower.

The ones they least want to deal with are the complexities of the human heart.

And their Undead Tribe can drive every ’Josh’ to the brink of collapse.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ blinked lightly... he actually wanted to know what kind of reaction these pioneers, recognized as the kindest even among the Morninglight Elect, would have facing the current scene.

Back then, that Silvermoon Archbishop almost took action!

Even though the bustling scene left him a bit confused, Josh had no intention of harming the innocent at all.

He simply crossed his arms, lost in thought.

In other words, if the Undead Tribe continue speaking, he will continue standing.

Anyway, according to Lansendel’s words, for these Undead Tribe to undertake tasks, they have to wait for him to announce the start... as Lansendel’s Chosen, how to act, how to flexibly use these puppets, naturally, Josh understands as an invocation from the Main God.

After all, every Chosen can essentially become the mortal embodiment of their own Main God.

And Josh, who can meander leisurely through the Stellar Realm, never lacks patience.

As for the completion time Lansendel mentioned... isn’t there still a month to go?

Josh feels he can wait.

But if it requires him to step forward and quiet these people, Josh feels he can’t do it.

As for completely ignoring the Undead Tribe, saying and doing his own thing... Josh hasn’t even considered it.

As he has shown, he truly isn’t a very flexible person.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ quickly noticed this point, and couldn’t help but let out a soft laugh... he finally somewhat understood why the Dawn Messenger in Deepwater City, even though capable and intelligent, isn’t the most feared Morninglight Elect by the Toril people.

What the Toril people fear most, what rattles them just by mentioning it, are the Dawn Pioneers.

These guys are truly stubborn!

Moreover, it’s not the mindless kind of stubbornness; it’s the kind that, despite having that intelligence, doesn’t think in that direction at all.

Really, just like children who never grow up... They know that side would actually be easier, but just don’t like it.

”Mr. Snow Cloud Peak.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ turned his head and found it was some clan leaders from the ’friendly factions’... who were ’conveniently’ standing beside him.

These people belong to the ’vast majority’.

They usually don’t participate in the disputes between these families, but during world or regional tasks, they would honestly follow behind their Proud Sky Alliance.

Of course, if someday a power subdues Proud Sky Alliance and stands at the pinnacle, these families would naturally follow that power.

Although collectively called ’Scattered Ones’, essentially, they still have families and factions.

”What? Is there something you need?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ showed a polite smile... he’s always courteous to these people, just as they wouldn’t call him ’Snow Old Dog’.

”That Mr. Josh hasn’t spoken all this time, is there a problem?” A male mage opened his mouth with some difficulty, ”It’s already past the announced time.”

”Probably because it’s noisy,” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ answered frankly, ”The Chosen of Lansendel has the qualification to be capricious.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ believed that these people were not unaware of the reason; they were just looking for him to take the lead.

But having taken on certain faction tasks, he found little need for these basic task requirements... They weren’t unaware of the map-clearing tasks issued by William; they just didn’t have enough Military Exploits to snatch them.

These tasks are like icing on the cake for those with high Military Exploits... tasks that can be conveniently completed while clearing maps.

But there’s absolutely no need to rush.

So why should he, ’Snow Cloud Peak’, take the lead in this?

As an explorer investigating the world when there are no large regional or world tasks, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ does not feel obligated to put in so much effort.

His role as Commander is not due to being affable or generous to everyone; it’s because without his war missions, there’s a genuine risk of failure.

A few clan leaders looked at each other but ultimately decided not to say more... They didn’t need to continue the conversation.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ possesses the qualification to be strong.

This is why, at times, some Scattered Ones hope for the emergence of a powerful faction capable of opposing the Proud Sky Alliance.

Although ’Snow Cloud Peak’ is a competent Commander, it’s challenging for Scattered Ones to obtain satisfying benefits from him.

Only when two strong parties duel do Scattered Ones have opportunities to capitalize on the chaos.

”Those Perfect Bald are really standing firm!” Standing not far from ’Snow Cloud Peak’, ’Susu’ lifted her tablet... Although lacking the determination to roll snowballs with ’Snow Cloud Peak’, the Female Priest still waited for him a bit.

If Snow Old Dog wanted a shield in front, he should’ve been standing behind ’Susu’.

”Hmm?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ peered over for a glance, ”What’s this? Clearly it’s dew-covered, why hasn’t the Road Eunuch slipped at all.”
