Surviving The Fourth Calamity

What kind of reply could Hill give to such words?

Any response would only harm himself.

So, Hill didn’t look back, but instead glanced down the slope at those survivors... After downing a few bottles of blood medicine, finally, someone was ready to climb up the mountain again.

Speaking of which, ’Old Age Striking King’ sure lived up to being one of the wise ones not often implicated by fools. She was almost a full 50 meters ahead of the Undead Tribe trailing behind her.

This was even though she carefully made one footprint at a time and tugged hard on each vine to test it before moving forward.

The wise ones who quickly caught up after noticing her movements behind her weren’t as meticulous.

Especially a few of the most anxious ones.

Although they used their long spears to probe the path... But without properly weighing the difference in weight, they couldn’t steady their footing and slipped, flipping over and falling immediately.

Moreover, he dragged down two other wise ones behind him who wanted to tread the path that had already been traversed.

Among these people, there were also those who, because of rolling in a direction not from the way they came, fell directly into a pit.

Most people held long knives or spears and magic wands to probe the way, simply mimicking the furthest-reaching lady, ’Old Age Striking King,’ as everyone knew she had known Hill for long enough and understood him deeply.

The saying ”listen to others, eat till you’re full” was particularly useful in times like this... Of course, only at times like this.

Nevertheless, they weren’t being overly cautious, like the one who absentmindedly slipped while grabbing the vine, ending in a fall and taking a series of unfortunate ones along.

But it seems he wasn’t that unlucky after all.

After all, he just rolled down, lost a bit of skin, and could continue climbing.

The truly unlucky one, however, was the one following behind, trying to take advantage, but after being knocked off, fell directly into a pit... The maze down below indeed wouldn’t kill anyone, but it wasn’t much better.

Some had already started live streaming their endless paranormal escape journey on their tablets, and lamenting their miserable fate in front of a ghostly pale face embedded in the wall... Not wanting to curse wasn’t an option; you had to answer which rune needed adding at a certain point of the magic rune model or alchemy array.

Although the Undead Tribe could look these things up on forums, Hill wasn’t giving models or array names, just parts of images!

If they had the skill to know where it came from at a glance, why would they be playing this game?

They’d long be in the Academy of Sciences!

So, ultimately, most people still end up cursing themselves wholeheartedly.

Hill’s maze might not cause much physical harm, but the mental trauma was thorough.

The key was, magic was prohibited!

Knowing how terrifying the situation below was, and seeing the fate of the not-so-smart ones who dared to stick their heads out, made every climber extremely cautious. Even those with long swords and great swords fished long spears and rods out of their bags... Such was the advantage of the Undead Tribe; they could always pull out things from their bags that might never be used.

These Undead Tribe members were fairly sharp; as soon as they realized the leading person might also turn into a rolling stone, they dispersed immediately.

Though that didn’t guarantee they could reach the top, at least they’d die by their own hands.

The Undead Tribe had always hated being implicated by others and knew well how to exculpate themselves when being foolish.

However, they didn’t stray too far away... Although they didn’t want to be dragged down by others, if someone could break their fall as they tumbled, maybe they wouldn’t die themselves.

Only one area nearby had a huge gap... ’Snow Cloud Peak’ gentleman had just chosen a spot to start climbing, and the area within 20 meters of him became instantly deserted.

Everyone knew that guy would definitely roll down... avoiding which rat hole, thankfully, was probably because he stepped on dog poop today.

If anyone was dumb enough to follow behind Snow Old Dog, then they might as well be the dog poop.

”That one, truly deserving of having shaped Edna into what she is now.” Lansendel couldn’t help but sigh as he crouched next to Hill, ”A true exemplar among exemplars.”

”Who taught you that kind of expression?” Hill asked curiously.

”Young Master,” Lansendel replied frankly, ”He always spoke highly of Old Age Striking King.”

”The few times Old Age Striking King suffered losses on our side, it was because of him.” Hill sighed, softly telling Lansendel, ”Sometimes, specific praise from someone doesn’t make one happy.

Don’t say it in front of the old age.

Though the elder may not take it seriously, would a Magic Goddess, who always heard her murmur about this thing, do something, I wouldn’t know.”

Even though both Benshasha’s blessing and Tymora’s curse didn’t do much to Lansendel, those two indeed constantly wanted to stir up trouble for this Lord of Dawn... If the Magic Goddess got involved too, who knows what would happen.

Though Edna wouldn’t do anything too outrageous to him, there was no need for Lansendel to lose face!

That girl’s way of doing things had a very undead tribe vibe, skilled in hitting where it hurts the most.

Lansendel’s wings stiffened for a moment.

Of course, he understood Hill’s reminder.

The Lucky Curse and Doom Blessing of Toril might not attack his true form, but they’re always lurking around him.

Sometimes, he’d inexplicably shed a hair or trip over his own feet—it’s all somehow related to the curses of those two mad women.

The fact that it hasn’t caused much trouble is actually because the spells tend to clash a bit with each other... and the Goddess of Magic, who can weave Primordial Power, can indeed slightly balance out such conflicts.

He couldn’t help but speak to Hill with a grateful tone, ”Thanks for the reminder; the Young Master, when boasting, can’t he be a bit more realistic?”

”If he’s caught boasting, he’ll get beaten, but he’ll keep boasting rather than stop.” Hill shook his head, ”You’ve interacted with the Undead Tribe for so long; how are you still falling for this trick?”

”The Young Master acts foolish, so I keep forgetting he’s not actually stupid.” Lansendel shook his head, ”Looking at this, the Old Age Striking King should be able to climb to the top soon, right?”

”She’s really stable.” Hill couldn’t help but praise, ”Covered in grass wet with ice water, yet she doesn’t slip at all.

Passed through at least three fake grounds, and she found them all.

As long as she remains so firm...”

”Ahhhh!” A series of wailing cries echoed in the sky.

The always cautious ’Old Age Striking King’ suddenly loosened her grip, her foot shaking, instantly sliding downward.

Luckily, she wasn’t afraid at all of emergencies; she grabbed at the vines along the way to reduce speed and cleverly changed direction, avoiding sliding into a detected trouble spot.

After sliding about 10 meters, she finally managed to stabilize herself temporarily with her magic wand and vines, barely halting on the spot.

”I C%##%@@$!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ who finally halted uttered a series of elegant language.

Unfortunately, Hill didn’t understand a word; it was all turned into ’buzzing’ noises.

”Is she cursing?” Lansendel asked with a grin, ”How strange, I can actually feel her words aren’t as dirty as when the Perfect Bald cursed Ambori.

Why would William block this, and not those more harmful ones?”

”How would I know?” Hill replied without blinking, ”It’s been this way from the start. Perhaps the World Will of the Undead Tribe requires them to avoid certain words when speaking?”

The God of Time and Space, is he a strong Divine Power now?

Though joking with Lansendel, Hill’s heart couldn’t help but stir... The elemental body the Undead Tribe is using seems to belong to Teraxil.

Hill didn’t find it particularly strange, since it’s William and Lansendel—maybe also a collaboration with Styx and Celene, so naturally, they wouldn’t use an elemental body mixed with Coron Divine Power.

However, these individuals probably just want to pay without participating... Although the elemental body isn’t a particularly troublesome refining object for the deities, it also isn’t simple.

Those without Coron’s expertise in crafting Strange Objects might not want the hassle.

As long as they trust the God of Time and Space and William enough, using an already available elemental body is normal.

It’s not like taking it to Toril... Lansendel and Celene wouldn’t care about these things.

As for Styx, he actually doesn’t care about most things.

But generally, which sane Human God would plot against Styx?

Styx doesn’t mind them snatching souls of his followers, but that doesn’t mean he can’t stop them.

Hill glanced once more at the still angry ’Old Age Striking King’.

He really didn’t understand a single word.

And the last time he saw that body of the ’Old Age Striking King,’ Hill could still catch a bit of real language hidden within the chaotic noise.

Back then, he was even less powerful than half of what he is now.

The God of Time and Space must be a strong Divine Power now, and at least at Lansendel’s level.

As he grows more powerful, Teraxil seems to become even more formidable!

Hill knows well, though the God of Time and Space can exist independently of Teraxil, he resides within the Teraxil Star Realm.

Thus, no matter how quickly he becomes stronger, he’s affected by Teraxil’s limits.

When he left, Teraxil was still a middle-level world.

Has it advanced to strong so quickly?

That’s great.

”Who is she cursing?” Lansendel shrunk his neck a bit cowardly, ”People from the Black Rose really know how to curse!”

”The Perfect Bald and Young Master.” Shaer suddenly interjected wistfully, ”Hill, can’t you open the big screen?

The Undead Tribe has been streaming the whole time.”

”How did they end up together?” Hill asked, a bit surprised, as he waved his hand to raise three large screens.
