Surviving The Fourth Calamity

If it weren’t for Rose being captured in the image, otherwise, Lansendel and Celene, crouched on another large stone, would really struggle to realize her presence.

Lansendel was fine, he’s not one to have a meticulous mind, so even though he was searching with bean-sized eyes that were nearly bulging out, once found, it didn’t matter to him.

But Celene couldn’t let it go.

She was clearly annoyed by being obscured by Rose, so she made no effort to hold back: ”Look at that mother spider’s tail sticking up... thought she was filling her belly with water, thought she was spraying...”

”Celene!” Shaer very timely stopped Celene’s overly imaginative thoughts.

If it were anyone else, the analogy might have flowed downward to filth, but with Celene, it always veered into the disgusting.

Although neither was any good, the folks around her preferred she concoct raunchy rumors.

After all, such things might be overheard without alarm, but disgust brings a critical hit to those more imaginative.

”Tch~” Celene glanced at Shaer, ”With a face like yours, why bother pretending to be pure?”

”Ugly is your impression, but disgusting is for everyone.” Shaer responded coldly, ”I don’t expect you to consider others’ feelings, but I can warn you, unless you want to be hit by me, obediently watch your big screen.”

Celene clenched her fist but ended up muttering and giving up.

She used to dare collide with Shaer because Shaer hadn’t found her weakness.

Now, she wouldn’t act recklessly.

Don’t look at the times before when she was evenly matched with Shaer, that was because they were only colliding divine powers, not divine senses.

But this time, Celene was certain Shaer would attack her with her divine sense.

Although Celene believed she wouldn’t be completely defeated, the force exerted would far exceed what she’s willing to spare... she’s not into such loss-making business.

She quickly turned her head to the big screen, asking earnestly, ”Why doesn’t the Pool of Life stop Rose?”

”Just like Asmodius letting us observe there, it’s the same reasoning.” Lansendel answered readily, ”Both of them think victory’s on my side, so they want a witness.

For the two of us... even if we spoke the truth, many would doubt.

But if Rose says the same, then it’s certain.

After all, even if I’m dismissed, what possibility is there for you to cooperate with Rose, right?! Silvermoon Maiden.”

Celene nodded in deep agreement: ”Of course, for Elisui, I wouldn’t care about this dirty spider!”

Hill’s corners of the mouth couldn’t help but twitch slightly.

Forget it, Elisui and her are like two peas in a pod, neither should speak of the other.

Of course, that girl, though not quite right in the head, is indeed genuinely kind.

Shaer earnestly glanced around for a while, then confirmed that those two truly thought Lansendel’s reasoning posed no issue.

She pursed her red lips, turned to observe Hill’s complex expression, and softly exhaled: it turns out she hadn’t suddenly gone mad.

Those two were probably too bothered by the noise, so they stopped using their brains to think.

If Asmodius found out they believed he left Rose alone and their comments on the matter, he’d merely coldly laugh... he needs them to witness nothing.

To be so genuinely amiable was purely because he knew those two were merely avatars.

If the Pool of Life could seal all traces, Asmodius wouldn’t mind directly strangling Toril’s Dawn and Silvermoon; unfortunately, the Order Gods reacted too fast and struck with enough ferocity.

Clearly, they intended only to keep the Pool, not caring whether it was as powerful and useful as before.

Asmodius can comprehend this approach: anyways, the Pool of Life will gradually repair over time, and the Order Gods lack nothing if not time.

Compared to having nothing in the future, enduring for tens of thousands of years is preferable.

Tsk~ Their ruthless degree of action is no less than his as the Lord of Hell.

These Order Gods truly fit Hell perfectly... alas, the Will of Hell doesn’t dare to take them in.

Also, those two aren’t dumb, if they weren’t certain of connecting with the outside, they wouldn’t feel so free beside him.

Who would, for momentary satisfaction, directly offend both Toril’s Lansendel and Celene at once? Well, then Asmodius would truly admire their courage.

Forget about him as the lawful evil devil; he guesses even those Demon Lords wouldn’t dare take the plunge.

Who could be crazier than those two?!

He let these folks exist, of course, to keep the Order Gods from daring a sneak attack.

This group of ageless folks, their hearts black as pitch, how shamelessly they calculate against others.

Toril’s AO, in comparison, could be Lord of Justice.

Things of the past, Asmodius always remembers.

If not for being coerced, which angel would seek Hell as a path to survival?

He merely grew cold and emotionless due to abundant exposure to malevolent aura and his exterior ever closer to evil.

But upon discovering Order Gods deemed hideous the Battle Angels unfit as Heavenly Mountain agents, and sought to remove them, Asmodius and his subordinates genuinely pondered numerous approaches, but none offered survival.

Hell is their only hope.

Who would let this group of old things kill and silence people!

Only Hell would be willing to accept their settlement... The Will of Hell, which was utterly defeated by demons, would definitely be willing to cut off the claws of the God of Order.

After all, Asmodier’s battle angels, when fighting against the demon army, can be described as invincible and undefeated.

However, anyone can imagine that without a power of Abyssal Will at this level stepping in, they simply can’t protect their lives.

Even so, hasn’t Asmodier been seriously injured for many years?

You should know, when the Lord of Hell fights, he is always cautious and careful, but still got ambushed successfully.

Therefore, Asmodier deeply understands that he absolutely cannot fight with the Gods of Order in closed spaces.

It would be better if someone next to them could witness it.

He has no victory declaration to make, Asmodier is worried!

Although the Pool of Life is his birthplace, which can provide the energy to support him against several Gods of Order working together, his more adept spell-like abilities cannot be used.

How to use it? Haven’t struck the Gods of Order yet and pollute the energy pool around oneself?

Polluting it doesn’t matter much, but the energy from that thing wouldn’t be supplied anymore.

Asmodier can only choose to fight head-on.

Even though he, usually known for his willpower, is commanding so many small shields, it’s rather tiring.... At this point, absolutely cannot let the Gods of Order use that kind of particularly sinister weapon.

Especially, the kind captured from demons.

Rose exists for this very reason.

Her little spider can at most take away a hundred drops of Water of Life... Although the spider has a storage pouch in its body, the Water of Life is very heavy.

That greedy creature Rose might be, but she still has enough reason not to put herself in a position where she cannot take a single step.

However, with Rose present, these Gods of Order would absolutely not rashly use the demon-powered magic device... Rose would be delighted.

After all, once that thing appears, the first response would surely be to rush toward Rose.

Even if she has to hand over part of it to Abyssal Will, Rose still would profit greatly.

Nevertheless, those old guys wouldn’t be so crazy... After all, a man and a woman sit over there, dazzlingly bright.

The gods of AO’s house surely won’t keep secrets for them.

Might even turn the affair into a publicly broadcasted image.

Even though their presence only slightly increases his chances, for Asmodier, the victory in war is always accumulated bit by bit.

-----------------

As part of the same Evil Faction, also fond of making a fortune quietly, Shaer can actually understand why Asmodier tolerates the existence of Rose and those two fools.

If the Lord of Hell is truly certain of his victory, the first thing he would do is get rid of those two fools and then crush Rose underfoot.

Shaer gently let out a sigh.

Fortunately, there’s still someone with a brain here who can share her burden, otherwise, she might end up suspecting that the problematic one is herself.

Hill naturally wouldn’t believe entities like Asmodier need someone to witness his glorious victory.

Even if the person certainly hopes to smooth over the ’foolish Demon King’ image in the minds of the Undead Tribe, he wouldn’t use such a major affair for play.

He’s always reluctant to have his real combat methods spread, let alone potentially having countless mortals witness them.

Simply choose the lesser of the two evils.

Moreover, Hill can see that Asmodier’s most important ability is restricted... which is the Profane Contamination.

That thing requires the Lord of Hell’s opponents to constantly guard their weapons, even their mind from contamination... ultimately turning into his enemy directly.

When the Lord of Hell fights, he loves to pollute the surroundings into Hell’s aura, allowing him to act more freely.

However, Hill can also guess why he gives up; it seems the Pool of Life occupies a major position in their agreement.

Otherwise, Asmodier wouldn’t be behaving this obediently.

Ridiculously, his Ruby Scepter with attack bonuses against the Kind Alignment doesn’t add much when used on each God of Order.

Though two still give a slight successful feedback, but... very weak indeed.

More terrifyingly, the others feel nothing at all.

These are the masters of the Positive Energy Plane.

It’s simply a joke.

Not only Shaer and Lansendel, even Celene notices this point: ”Those old guys, what are they carrying?”
