Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Hill never thought that even when he did nothing, thought nothing, he could still hit the target with such precision.

Perhaps because AO was grateful to Hill for saving him from the reckless attacks of his two daughters, he merrily replied, ”That’s Aikbail, one of the rare kind gods among the gods of order who prefers to interact with other deities in a playful manner. Cosette’s target should not be... ah...”

What astonished AO was, of course, Cosette’s first stab aimed right at old Aikbail.

Hill uneasily shifted in his lounge chair... the gazes coming from all directions made him a bit embarrassed.

He really picked someone who looked a bit like Someone Deng at random!

Could it be that all similar old folks must die at the hands of their own kind?

Moreover, it’s never the intention of the opposition to kill him... they’re all controlled puppets.

Hill could even feel the overly intense gaze from Celene’s side... it seemed AO was also watching him.

Fortunately, Hill’s luck was well-known, and his connection to fate was known to none.

Thus, AO merely glanced over in curiosity and muttered, ”Turns out there are people whose luck can surpass miracles.”

”I think Hill wouldn’t see the notion of whoever he points at being unlucky as luck itself,” Shaer couldn’t resist retorting.

Hill looked gratefully towards the Lady of the Night... his dear sister-in-law.

”None of you seem surprised that Cosette’s target is Aikbail,” Celene completely ignored Hill whose mouth opened brightly.

The order gods on the grand screen finally reacted to what was happening... Hill and the others had already exchanged a few words, while the screen seemed to have been frozen in time.

They watched as Cosette mercilessly extended the dagger in her hand, quickly and decisively stabbing it into the back of Aixail’s chest, piercing straight through to the front.

That must have been a one-time killing tool, and Cosette never intended to pull it back.

She simply flipped out the short knife in her other hand and swiftly stabbed the male-dressed beauty Mei Fei’er standing beside Aixail who was still reaching out to support him, then quickly moved next to Asmodeus, directly rushing together towards a tall order god who moments ago was flaunting in the Pool of Life.

This one must have deep-rooted sins, and had severely offended both Asmodeus and the Pool of Life.

His blue-green spots had almost turned into large patches of mold.

The reason Asmodeus and Cosette charged him was also because he was the only one among those order gods who couldn’t help but stay behind, attempting to detox himself.

Although they didn’t expect the Pool of Life to borrow their thunder attack for annihilation and rebirth, the original target of the thunder was still achieved... the blue-green spots on the others were much fewer.

That god of chatter was almost spotless.

Only him.

This was enough to prove that although kind people may not always have good luck, at least they could stay out of related incidents.

Moreover, because that tall figure was alone at the end, he was precisely in the direction where Asmodeus departed from the summit of Heavenly Mountain.

If those order gods had reacted faster, acted against Cosette when that old man was dying, then... the Lord of Hell might not have acted further.

But, Cosette had already stabbed Mei Fei’er again, while that group of order gods remained dumbfounded, leaving Asmodeus with no choice but to strike swiftly and deeply.

With a swift speed like gale, Asmodeus reached the side of that tall big guy, raising his Ruby Scepter, heavily striking it down upon the other’s head.

Although the tall order god felt extremely uncomfortable and had his reaction speed reduced somewhat, he managed to dodge the direct blow due to his innate strength that enabled him to enter the Pool of Life and pursue the Lord of Hell.

Unfortunately, in some aspect, Cosette and Asmodeus truly thought alike... so she nearly reached the point of the tall figure’s dodge within the same instant.

The dagger she drove into Aixail seemed to not be the only one.

Additionally, such should have been specially developed to deal with order gods... perhaps alongside certain limitations, Cosette didn’t hesitate as the previous one had already sustained quite some injury, directly sending another dagger to the tall big guy.

The unity among the order gods, at this moment, unexpectedly... held no value.

Put it plainly, they were more like individuals who grew up together and naturally banded together, respectful but indifferent to their colleague’s emotions beyond maintaining a fellow’s bottom line.

Thus, facing potential life-and-death crisis, none rushed forward to save that tall figure slowed by poison.

They could only watch helplessly as he, too, turned into a gray and black stone like Aixail.

”No!” clutching the wounded part, Mei Fei’er who was lying on Aixail’s body suddenly shouted, ”Aixail’s Divine Soul is frozen too!”

Then those order gods ahead of Asmodeus swiftly backed away... revenge could wait until everything was understood.

Now, none wanted to die.

Deities possess shells and would die if their shells fell, but as long as that spark of aura in their Divine Soul remains, they hold the possibility of resurrection.

Even Amanata, who had been dead for tens of thousands of years and whose followers dwindled to less than a hundred, had the chance of resurrection!

Not to mention there were order gods whose colleagues would more or less lend a helping hand.

But, everyone understood the implication of a frozen Divine Soul... clearly.

If even that bit of aura stagnates, no matter how many followers are outside, they won’t be able to contact him.

Unless some God of Order is willing to sacrifice their Divine Soul and spend a million years nurturing that bit of aura... whether it succeeds is still unknown.

Moreover, the God of Order doing this will make zero progress during this period.

They can only watch as their colleagues surpass them one by one.

The Gods of Order are quite clear about the level of camaraderie between themselves and their colleagues.

If it were them, they probably wouldn’t even hear Mei Fei’er’s cry of utter grief.

So, they are truly grateful for Mei Fei’er’s timely notice, and swiftly distanced themselves from the battlefield with understanding.

Asmodeus didn’t plan to hunt down other Gods of Order either.

Being able to kill two... truly kill them, he is already quite satisfied.

This terrifying weapon, even he doesn’t have many... and he doesn’t wish to use it again.

Although doing so would make him even happier.

But, a deterrent weapon is most useful when kept in hand.

At least until it’s clear what the dagger is, and how Asmodeus achieved it, no True God would dare to strike at him.

Including the God of War, Hieronymus, who let him linger in hell for so many years.

That guy... heh~ using guarding Miska as an excuse, dodged so many major events!

But Asmodeus indeed won’t argue with Hieronymus about past grievances due to his guarding duties.

Anyway, Hieronymus won’t step out of that Dimensional Space for so-called revenge either.

There, the basic law is... the same being can only enter three times.

To hunt him Asmodeus, Hieronymus has already come out once.

He couldn’t possibly use up his final chance to come out for this matter now.

Therefore, Asmodeus left with great aplomb.

Even when he arrived at the entrance and found the number of devils killed was higher than anticipated, Asmodeus wasn’t upset... the dead devils were mere scum.

Besides, everyone knows why they died.

Before the explosion, in battle against those Gods of Order, it was the Battle Angels who took the frontline.

Therefore, the devils would have hardly suffered any damage.

And after the explosion, those Gods of Order, all wounded, charged towards the Pool of Life... the explosion had too wide an impact, and even the Battle Angels’ circle of defense couldn’t remain tight.

Then... those who lost their lives must have been greedy fools who went to seize gold, silver jewelry, and Divine Artifact treasures from the demons, ignoring his orders.

Since they didn’t heed him, staying wouldn’t be of any use.

In the short term, his hell shouldn’t need any formidable fighting force... there is ample time to train more obedient devils.

The Lord of Hell truly laughed wildly this time.

Then, with Cosette respectfully at his side, he led away his Battle Angel Legion, who gazed at him with reverent eyes.

Leaving only the rubble of the Heavenly Mountain, and the furious Abyssal Lords.

Though these lords don’t care about the demons’ lives, they don’t want to become isolated either!

However, that’s an explosion of the Pool of Life, the purest concentration of Positive Energy and Life Energy... even rainwater can kill a Great Demon, let alone explosives.

Of course, it wouldn’t be enough to directly kill the Abyssal Lords, just severely injure them.

So, even while cursing and fuming, these Abyssal Lords still ran after Asmodeus... what else could they do?

Acting wild wasn’t off the table, but why stay here to let those old men of the Heavenly Mountain vent their anger!?

Is it unjust?

Even the Double-headed Baboon’s most irritable and uncontrollable head gave up fighting for control of the body after the other head shouted, ”Do you want to help Asmodeus deal with his enemies?” and followed the large crowd.

Then, Hill saw the giant screens slowly start disappearing one by one... Lansendel and Celene also ran off.

Only the giant screen controlled by AO drifted leisurely to the center of the battlefield.

Aixail was still in that gray petrified state, the only hint of color on him being the dagger that had turned deep red.
