Surviving The Fourth Calamity

”My dear Hill, in this world, only results matter.” Shaer chuckled softly. ”People who reason well are admirable, but Hill, remember to bring your fists along too.”

Hill smiled helplessly.

When facing Shaer, he indeed seemed to relax a bit... In the past, he certainly wouldn’t have blurted out such words.

Then he seriously nodded: ”I’ll remember, Shaer.”

Perhaps it was when he first sensed a sisterly aura emanating from Shaer that he relaxed his vigilance.

When someone regards you with the care and concern of a senior, it’s truly challenging to view her as someone to guard against.

Shaer smiled with satisfaction.

She was delighted to see Hill’s reaction... Although William didn’t say much, she could feel his affection for Hill.

Although this might be due to him having lost his way and done things that displeased Hill, causing William’s feelings for Hill to deepen a bit, but... if their relationship wasn’t originally friendly, William wouldn’t show such affection.

Based on Shaer’s understanding of William, although he’s upright, he doesn’t feel guilt to the extent of harming others due to his actions.

He would compensate those affected by his misfortune, but he wouldn’t become deeply emotional with them because of it.

On the other hand, Hill, who had a good relationship with William, was the best lubricant for harmonious relations between the Human Pantheon and the Earth Deity System.

Although Shaer didn’t pay much attention to Teraxil’s affairs, relying merely on the mouths of the Undead Tribe, there was little she didn’t know.

So she was aware that even though Hill didn’t appear to hold a high position, in reality, he was the most pivotal figure in Teraxil... even more significant than most deities.

The Earth Deity System and the Ocean God System were almost bound to his robe.

The Sun and Silvermoon also cared deeply for him... Of course, the Sun and Silvermoon of Teraxil generally chose to align with the Earth Deity System, effectively considering them as part of the Earth Deity System.

Meanwhile, within William’s Human Pantheon, the God of Knowledge and the Goddess of Agriculture were descendants of the Sun God.

So, despite the Human Pantheon shining brightly outside Teraxil, represented by the God of Time and Space and William, true world sovereignty at their hometown rested with the Earth Deity System.

This was the result of the Goddess of the Earth, who had merged herself with the world, mostly ignoring external affairs.

Thus, Hill as a child was crucial to William both in public and in private.

Shaer always had her own principles in doing things.

Once she understood Hill’s significance, she abandoned her usual behavior suitable for Toril, and refrained from interacting with a Child of Nature using deceitful and cunning attitudes... Shaer knew well how sensitive a true Child of Nature could be.

Lies and falsehoods were nearly provocative to them.

It’s merely about being a bit more genuine in conversations and actions... For William, she could manage that.

Of course, this was also due to Hill being genuinely likable, Shaer did it willingly.

As Hill and Shaer conversed warmly, Lansendel and Celene finally concluded their updates.

Then, this Silvermoon Maiden, maintaining her usual style, directly asked a key question, ”Are there females in the God of Order?”

”What difference does it make?” Lansendel looked puzzled.

Shaer coldly glanced at her, ”Do you really think any Goddess would fancy Asmodier?

If she wasn’t initially moved, there’s no way she’d suddenly fall in love all these years later.

You’re overthinking.”

Celene looked indifferently at Shaer, ”You’ve blossomed, can’t other Goddesses also feel joyful?”

”What sort of nonsense are you spouting?” Shaer said impatiently, ”Can’t you understand?

Used to dislike, how can it turn into like later?”

”After so many years of loneliness, maybe she suddenly changed?” Celene said defiantly, ”You...”

Hill felt Celene’s entanglements often lead to some unfathomable points... Shaer wasn’t suggesting that even if lonely enough to sing, it would be sung to a fresh face never seen before.

Not the unfortunate soul from the past who had once been schemed against or even set up.

Yet Celene consistently felt that if Shaer’s heart, which in her view counted as stony, could be moved, then a certain Order Goddess losing her mind was normal.

The two were utterly dismissive of each other’s focal points.

These two had been sisters, backing each other up against enemies for hundreds of thousands of years together, yet they still had zero understanding.

Lansendel seemed to finally understand, so the Great Peacock swiftly interjected into this sisters’ dialogue, ”Anyway, for now, we can’t see who has issues.

We might as well keep an eye on those female Gods of Order?

Anyway, let’s just stay observant.”

When Lansendel spoke, the bird’s head turned back and forth... Swinging over to Hill’s twinkling eyes, a hint of light flickered through.

Hill nodded knowingly: As the one who squats together in the Pool of Life with Celene, Lansendel definitely hoped Celene wouldn’t engage with Shaer here.

Otherwise, it would be unknown if the Silvermoon Maiden would stay in the Pool of Life anymore.

If she suddenly left, it might spur some misunderstandings.

Such as the obviously scheming Asmodeus might think Celene discovered something and was about to reveal it... Though the existence of AO ensured they wouldn’t be easily attacked, it also made them easily suspected.

Who asked that old man used to be a member of the God of Order?

Lansendel naturally didn’t care if Celene was seen as an enemy by Asmodeus, but he sure didn’t want to be considered an accomplice himself.

That’s why he’s working so hard to appease Celene.

But Lansendel knows better; appeasing Celene might very likely anger Shaer.

If she were to really get serious... Celene definitely couldn’t withstand it.

Their peace has lasted because Shaer has maintained a calm demeanor.

But Lansendel also knows that he has no standing to speak at Shaer’s... so he must turn to Hill for help.

Although Hill is not good at other things, he can catch on to these minor matters.

He turned to Shaer and said, ”Although the Silvermoon Maiden’s thoughts are always somewhat... chaotic, sometimes her direction just accidentally hits the right spot.”

Shaer furrowed her brows, couldn’t help but recall past events, and reluctantly nodded: ”Fine, I will refrain from speaking for now.”

Hill pondered for a moment and still whispered softly: ”But, won’t there soon be a result?

Why do you all have to find the result now?

It has nothing to do with us, right?

After all, at this stage, it’s already an unchangeable ending!”

Celene replied very seriously: ”When bored, you always have to do something!”

She pointed at the giant screen over the Pool of Life: ”Look at their fighting style, I truly don’t know who is the master of Heavenly Mountain!

Now, it’s Asmodier who is invigorated by the life energy and growing stronger in battle.

Tsk~

I truly admire the Lord of Hell’s endurance.

Although the Pool of Life has tried to repel the positive energy that could harm him, the strong life force always brings some inherent harm to evil... Look at those things on his body, they look like blisters!

If you didn’t know, you’d think he was boiling!

Even so, he withstands the combined efforts of the strongest God of Order from Heavenly Mountain... whether these old folks have some ulterior motives or not, it only proves the strength of the Lord of Hell.”

Lansendel’s words were more realistic: ”Once we figure out who it is, we can see some traces from his behavior.

A deity falling into hell isn’t such a terrifying matter.

Anyway, ultimately, it might only mean the God of Order’s level was a bit higher, but it doesn’t make us overly anxious.

But... if the one who emerges is truly closely related to Asmodier, and even listens to his command after falling, then it’s troublesome.

Hill, the current Lord of Hell is already very powerful.

Such a one can absolutely bring glory to Hell for a millennium.

Your Teraxil, because the God System is united enough, and the relationships between gods and people are quite harmonious... Of course, the most important thing is, there’s the Undead Tribe.

They are great at uncovering people’s secrets.

Trying to play domain summoning in the place where these people reside is asking for death.

Those tied to hell wouldn’t be that foolish.

But elsewhere...

Especially Toril.

You understand, don’t you?

Though Toril is full of strong entities, each strong being has its enemies.

The things the Devil can achieve are truly countless.”

”In short, the Path of Destiny in Toril is obviously starring that useless Amanata.

With just him, want to contend against Hell in its prime?

Hmph~

Who knows what Toril will turn into!

Speaking of which, Amanata’s cup might just get taken by that Black Dragon again!”

Lansendel had spoken to this extent, so Celene no longer beat around the bush, and directly expressed her dissatisfaction.

”And what about those Greek Gods?” Hill pondered for a moment, without making any comment, instead bringing up Apollo and the others.

He felt something was off about Celene.

Among the three deities present, Lansendel and Shaer posed no real threat to him.

Celene, on the other hand, was uncertain.

Hill better watch his words.

”Hmm?” Celene tilted her head, thought for a moment, then shook it, ”They’re not qualified yet.

If the old man really stirs up trouble, he would only replace Lansendel with Apollo, letting Lansendel become the new Sun God.”

”Well then, may he spare me,” Lansendel said firmly.
