Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Once again, Hill focused his attention on the giant screen, feeling a bit perplexed.

If these two ladies indeed had issues, then their acting skills must be of the caliber of top actresses.

But upon closer inspection, they did have some subtle actions.

However, if you look at those male gods of order, it was obvious none of them were being honest either.

The divine light was indeed pure, but each had its own purity, its own brilliance.

”According to the rules at the top of Heavenly Mountain...” AO stared for a moment before realizing his two girls were also confused by the scene of these five gods with their own schemes, ”as long as they’re not scheming against each other, whatever they desire can be achieved through their own abilities.”

”As long as they wish to remain at the top of Heavenly Mountain, this rule must be followed.”

Shaer asked suddenly in a pensive tone, ”So, was that why Asmodeus had a chance to catch his breath and find a way out for himself back then?

I remember, you once mentioned that although the Pool of Life couldn’t prevent your forceful growth, it still secured equal status for the battle angels on the surface?”

”Yes.” AO answered decisively, ”As long as he was willing to resist the invasion of demons for Heavenly Mountain, this rule couldn’t exclude him and the battle angels.

This rule, even after he went to Hell, was still applicable.”

”This bind is two-way, right?” Celene, as an expert at exploiting loopholes, quickly grasped the key point, ”If it only restricted Heavenly Mountain, Asmodeus couldn’t possibly have allied with the Bottomless Abyss. Despite his hatred for those old folks up there, he wouldn’t do that.”

”Of course, all the rules can only be applied if he’s still willing to be a part of Heavenly Mountain.” AO noticeably more patient and his explanations particularly concise and detailed when speaking to Celene, ”The former Asmodeus still needed Heavenly Mountain.

Even if he was almost fatally tricked by a God of Order, at that time, in his weakened state, he needed that seemingly about-to-break rope to hold onto him, lest he was devoured by Hell directly.

Despite all his flamboyant deeds in Hell over the years, fundamentally, he was always treading dangerously no different from walking a tightrope.

In his prime, Hell naturally dared not touch him, but... his blood nearly filled a blood lake, how could Hell not attempt to control him through those bloodlines?

And Asmodeus... ha~ in that event long ago, indeed it was the God of Order side more shameless, but he wasn’t entirely innocent either.

He was indeed a victim, but he also used a bit of strategy in his resistance.

From that day, the God of Order could no longer claim a pure reputation, and strong individuals knowledgeable about the incident were as wary of dealing with them as they were with the devils in Hell.

The most important thing is that Asmodeus gained the freedom he had long yearned for, with no one able to boss him around anymore.

Such a person, why would he let Hell control him?

So, when you mention matters of this world to me, I know that guy must be putting on a show for someone.

He surely doesn’t truly hope for Bisozeya’s resurrection in its entirety.

Heh~ To the battle angels, Asmodeus is their sole faith, their only pillar of survival.

If he genuinely respected his wife as portrayed, even if the battle angels loathed Bisozeya, they would give their last breath to save her life.

But this fact is well known to all.

That Princess of Hell is no saint either.

Nobody sold out Asmodeus more readily than her.

As for their daughter, she’s raised so foolishly on purpose by Bisozeya.

Ha ha~

The Hell’s Royal Family didn’t used to raise their children like that, each one more cunning and unscrupulous than the last, moreover, lacking in virtue.”

Hill couldn’t help but glance at the Great Peacock sitting primly next to him, and noticed Lansendel also looked towards him with a shared sentiment.

The emotions in those round eyes changed endlessly.

Then they both turned back, focusing their gazes on the giant screen... what did AO teaching his own children have to do with them?

Regardless of whether AO sensed the surprise of the neighboring family’s child, he gave no response.

His voice remained unwavering.

”So, in the past, even with countless back-ups on top of Heavenly Mountain, he wouldn’t easily use them.

The Gods of Order might be caught off guard once, but they would never give him a second chance.

No matter what he sought to obtain here, he could only make a single all-in bet.

Celene, don’t think that with all the effort and manipulation he’s done, the benefits he’s reaped, which could have been obtained with just the first part of his planning, were too cautious.

If you had even half, no, a tenth of Asmodeus’s caution, many troubles could have been avoided.

He certainly knows that his preparations might be redundant.

But it’s better than realizing, at a critical moment, you’re just one step away from success!

For the sake of his own future, more preparations... sigh...”

AO’s sigh was too pronounced, and Hill couldn’t help glancing over at him.

Celene was eating, having carefully selected a few pieces of butter cookies, and took a big gulp of milk.

Shaer sneered coldly, ”Talk about the real business, don’t say things that no one will listen to.”

Anyway, the person you want to educate won’t listen.

Another one who doesn’t need any education would just find you annoying for talking too much crap, and still complain about favoritism.

Hill silently finished what she was about to say in his mind.

What made people... even feel a bit of pity for the God Above Gods was... he had no excessive reaction to it at all, just a sigh.

AO hardly paused and continued speaking directly, and his tone was quite calm: ”I was quite surprised at first that there was a God of Order who chose to abandon the past, but actually, it’s not hard to understand.

They live too comfortably and too plainly.

You don’t have to look at me like that, Celene.”

Celene, holding her milk cup, looked innocent: ”I’m not looking at you!”

”Are you talking about yourself?” Shaer couldn’t hold back.

”Even if it’s the same person, the me here is just quietly drinking my milk~” Celene retorted defiantly, ”Besides, Shaer, why are you by the old man’s side?

Weren’t you going to look for William?”

This kind of pointless bickering... Hill quickly recalled the bizarre antics of Alice and Agleya when they were around him and deeply realized... even if you’ve lived for millions of years, girls won’t be any different in this respect.

He quickly pulled himself together, ready to observe AO’s way of dealing with it to see if there was anything he could learn.

And then, he was swiftly disappointed.

AO was even worse than him!

The only way was to ignore it and continue with what he was saying, pretending that everything in front of him hadn’t happened.

Although Hill understood, he was now facing two Celenes and two Shaers... those around him wouldn’t keep quiet, but wasn’t AO supposed to be the old and cunning one?

How could he have no other tactics besides avoidance!

Really useless, no senior demeanor at all.

Amid the back-and-forth bickering of those two sisters, AO continued to speak unusually calmly: ”I was able to leave the Heavenly Mountain so readily because I have no enemies.”

Even while arguing, the sisters simultaneously let out a loud sneer.

”Indeed, there weren’t any before I created you two.” AO’s voice remained steady, ”Perhaps that time used up all my luck, so nothing good happened afterward.”

Ah, he was quite adept at using double meanings.

But, Hill was still useless.

When he wanted to reprimand Agleya and Alice, when had he ever been so roundabout?

Forget it, this control group had no learning value at all.

AO finished speaking and didn’t even try to ask those two to quiet down, just continued: ”The longer they stay on the Heavenly Mountain, the more... mess they create.

Previously, it was all suppressed by the contract with the Heavenly Mountain.

Heh~ what Zeus could do, they certainly had no problem with.

All sins, while he belonged to the Heavenly Mountain, could be covered up by the positive energy flowing outside.

So, those avengers wanting to find traces of their own enemies, no matter how strong, found it difficult to pierce through these obstructions.

But, if one leaves the Heavenly Mountain, then they will inevitably appear unshielded before all avengers.”

”Then why does he or she have to leave the Heavenly Mountain?” Celene completely couldn’t understand.

”Shaer probably guessed, right?” AO ignored Celene, who didn’t intend to think for herself, and instead asked the Lady of the Night.

”It’s not that she wants to, but that she has to.” Shaer still gave her old man some face and answered nonchalantly, ”Asmodeus probably caught hold of the other party’s weakness long ago.

This weakness wouldn’t cause her downfall, but it certainly makes it impossible for her to stay on the Heavenly Mountain any longer.”

”Hmm...” AO, who had been observing until now, suddenly sighed again, ”So, Shaer, you also know why I’m asking you, right?”

Shaer’s expression was cold, her voice even icier: ”Celene guessed right, it is indeed a she.”

”I never even thought it would be her!” AO’s exclamatory tone was quite irritating.

Luckily there was still a Celene.

”What riddles are you speaking!” the Silvermoon Maiden shouted, ”There’s two! Which one?

Do I have to pick one between the two here?

Old man, you’re not really senile, are you? Playing some guessing game!”

What a nice girl.

Glad she wasn’t from his family.

”Shut up, I want to see for myself!” Shaer stepped in to stop Celene’s antics.

Hill blinked, trying hard to observe the two female Gods of Order... he actually wanted to see if he could find some clues before the answer came out.

He honestly couldn’t see a thing before; these two had a lot of little actions, but their forms were similar.

Could it be that both of them had issues?
