Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Outside the Pool of Life, is the place where the God of Order congregates the most, with roughly more than a dozen people.

They react faster than those left in the conference hall, but their defensive power is necessarily weaker... living as the God of Order for so long, having experienced so many deities, no matter how stubbornly conservative, they are bound to know their own shortcomings.

The reason they have been able to persevere under the assault of battle angels and some reasonably rational devils is, naturally, because they specialize in defense among the God of Order.

Of course, this is also the reason they were left behind by the enemy in the end...since they want to be tall and strong, able to withstand more than the thickest-skinned giant dragon, sacrificing some of their speed is an inevitable choice.

Those who rushed into the Pool of Life, on the other hand, are the most powerful in combat.

They can even injure Asmodier, despite him being backed by the endless energy provided by the Pool of Life...which is drawn from the entire Heavenly Mountain...

And those outside the Pool of Life, who seem to rely on neither side, are not truly ’mediocre’ either.

They have their own advantages.

Such as a Divine Magic Array.

Hill blinked his eyes, shocked by the immensely complex giant magic array he saw.

To be able to set up such a powerful composite array in such a short time...these Gods of Order are indeed quite skillful.

Even if Fran came, along with Hill and Adrian as assistants, to achieve this would take at least a day.

Of course, what they would produce certainly wouldn’t be so, uh, haphazard.

Hill never underestimates himself.

Especially after walking a circle in Toril, he understands even more what kind of existence Fran truly is.

Including their lineage source, Draculus, who has gone quite far in alchemy.

Moreover, their magic in Teraxil is learned from elves, almost directly connected with laws; one needs a deep understanding of laws to achieve anything, unlike Toril sorcerers who first learn patterns, then record and download information, and can finally cast spells directly.

Only needing to consider magical energy and how to flexibly use magic slots.

Therefore, in Teraxil, it is very difficult to become a mage, even more difficult to advance to legendary...but even those single-law mages have a grasp on their law far exceeding Toril’s so-called 20th level archmage.

If they, like Toril sorcerers, started learning spells from the weave, their achievements would certainly not lag behind.

And alchemy, the skill most closely related to laws, is instead studied more deeply in Teraxil.

Most of those powerful divine artifacts in Toril rely on the divine power of deities and the special strong materials themselves, only a few truly embody the capabilities of those archmages.

In this regard, what Hill admires most is not Elminster, but the Sorcerer King, the creator of the chair tainted by Rose.

His level of research in this field truly represents the pinnacle of an alchemist master’s proficiency.

Others, especially those divine artifacts crafted by giant dragons, Hill doesn’t even want to look at...too crude.

Entirely reliant on thick dragon skin.

But Hill can also understand that Toril, in a certain sense, is indeed very wealthy; all kinds of materials can be found.

But, it is also poor.

Without sufficient capability, one has to be frugal even with gold coins, let alone those extremely expensive rare materials.

Teraxil is different.

Although top materials are also very expensive, as long as one becomes a mage, ordinary materials can be gotten as desired...on some level, Draculus’s mage association indeed provides mages with sufficiently high status and sufficient money.

Such as the various elemental crystal stones Hill used for practice in his youth...if a Toril person saw them, they might gasp in shock and faint.

But such an environment also provides alchemists with more development space.

So, Teraxil’s divine artifacts are more dependent on the various carefully crafted rune composite arrays by alchemist masters.

This made Hill, who once harbored many fears, and always looked up to the outside world, finally feel more assured.

Teraxil, due to the damages of the past, temporarily can’t keep up with the highest world level, but that doesn’t mean they are inferior in all aspects.

Especially the top-tier combat power, truly not inferior to those advanced worlds.

Having survived its great calamity, Teraxil need not worry about being trapped at the mid-level world scale due to inadequate energy in the future.

The powerful World Tree, the world chosen for its seeds, should naturally be that strong.

Hill later also came to understand...what accomplished him is the memories of the past, but what bound him were also those.

But this flaw, he was very satisfied to accept.

If without those memories, based solely on Hill’s talents and luck, he would definitely not have reached where he is today...being able to become a good bear like Aurelio is already his best outcome.

The sense of crisis constantly surrounded Hill, making him work tirelessly instead of waiting for time to pass, believing he would naturally become stronger.

Aurelio and the other Earth Bears, in fact, due to the terrifying future of the world’s impending doom, could be considered very diligent demigod creatures.

If it were the kind in other worlds, they truly would have just slept and played through their days.

Whenever Hill thought about the possibility of himself ending up in such a future... Besides, with his lazy personality that disliked striving for strength, he would certainly be that bear holding a honey pot and completely lying flat.

Even though he still liked spells and alchemy, a sufficiently long life would turn these into mere pastimes.

It would be impossible for him to be as fully engrossed as he once was, never daring to relax even an inch.

Hill was grateful for all the past encounters... After all, those were what shaped him into who he is now.

Of course, those ghosts from the Pelast Family... Wait a minute, actually, the other people weren’t too foolish either.

From start to finish, there seemed to only be one complete fool.

Forget it, Hill immediately abandoned tracing those overly distant memories and once again focused his vision on the enormous array before him.

Just as he previously imagined, this array, even Fran would need Hill and Adrian’s joint efforts to complete it.

Moreover, no one else could interfere.

Hill and Adrian were trained by Fran himself; their thought patterns, work styles, and even the sculpting of array lines, the weight of setting energy nodes, were almost identical.

Only such synchronized minds could cooperate to complete such a complex array.

Thus, that’s why Hill quickly drifted off just after observing for a while.

The array is grand, but Hill quickly spotted many exploitable nodes—they were all skewed!

Even without precise calculations, he could feel how distorted the lines were.

However, this temporary array, if merely used to temporarily block someone, could actually work.

Especially when the block was intended for someone like Asmodeus, who certainly didn’t possess such insight.

This King of Angels wasn’t particularly adept in this regard.

And the Pool of Life once sealed by them at the top layer of Heavenly Mountain—say no more... It was even less competent than Asmodeus.

Therefore, the God of Order’s plan wasn’t necessarily impossible to succeed.

Unless someone caused trouble within it.

Hill pondered for a while, still cleared his throat slightly.

Then, to his great surprise, he found that he hadn’t been silenced.

This showed that even if he exposed the matter, it wouldn’t affect much...which meant Asmodeus could swagger back to Hell regardless and would bring back a successful spoil.

Even if the Abyss later retrieved the gemstone from the Seven-Section Rod and took it back to the Abyss, it wouldn’t surpass Asmodeus’s haul this time on the surface.

You know, he already got his hands on the Life Crystal!

He pocketed a huge stash secretly and even openly took away a God of Order who defected... Hell had become quite illustrious and dazzling.

The Gods of Order, who knows if they’d have the face to step out from the top of Heavenly Mountain within ten thousand years.

Hmm... Was AO standing on Asmodeus’s side this time because he knew destiny inevitably leads to this point, or did he also wish that this group of old comrades wouldn’t leave Heavenly Mountain for a while?

You see, even Hill knew a bit about the God of Order secretly intervening in Toril... They didn’t do much else but merely guided Anmur and Mulholland when they were seeking their abducted people.

The Gods of Order usually wouldn’t go overboard, but if it’s about intervening across worlds, they would definitely step up for justice.

Although AO didn’t care too much and even conveniently utilized these methods for himself, it didn’t mean he wasn’t secretly mumbling to himself.

This God Above Gods actually holds grudges fiercely.

Therefore, when planning an exceedingly precise calculation possibly leading to troublesome consequences on the Path of Destiny, causing these old folks to be distracted first aligns with AO’s consistent style.

With this realization, Hill softly interrupted Lansendel and Celene’s critique of those Gods of Order: ”Compared to what you’re saying, this array is worth more attention.”

”Hmm?” Lansendel immediately responded; the one beside them is truly the genuine Master of Strange Objects.

Those top-tier strange objects made by Hill, even Elminster secretly had someone buy one and take it back... nearly got robbed halfway by the undead.

Luckily the Storm Queen acted in time, rescuing that unfortunate Archmage overwhelmed by hundreds of female undead... or else the matter wouldn’t have been exposed.

But everyone knows, Xinbu himself isn’t very interested in these things; although she isn’t as natural as his little sister, she doesn’t care much about appearance.

But there’s only one or two who could prompt her action, and it’s not hard to guess who.
