Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Celene looked incredulous, ”I thought you wanted to control the Sun?”

You have the dream of becoming part of the Sun God Sect with billions of elves, isn’t the witness still there?”

”That was in the past.” A trace of sadness appeared on Lansendel’s bird-like face, ”At that time, the sun was still the original sun!”

”What nonsense?” Celene asked with a frown, ”How come I didn’t know you created another Sun?”

She stood up and circled around Lansendel, then continued with dissatisfaction, ”If a new Sun were easier to manage!

In that case, even if Apollo himself isn’t qualified, AO definitely has a way to smooth out the gap.

It’s just right, his sister would absolutely not qualify to share the divine duties of the moon in Toril... As an outsider, even if she wanted to protect humans, there would surely be no place for her as the Moon Goddess for elves.”

For both of them to share the Sun Priesthood, it’s not impossible.”

”Are you crazy, Celene?” Lansendel couldn’t help but flap his wings and shouted, ”Who wants a sun that Amanata has regained control over?

When he finishes his Path of Destiny... other than those immune guys from the Greek Gods, who wants to take over his position?”

Hill pressed his lips, controlling the impulse to burst out laughing: It seems Lansendel thinks Amanata will walk his Path of Destiny into a filthy path.

So dirty he can’t even imagine, dirty enough to be comparable to Rose.

In some aspects, Amanata is indeed somewhat without taboos.

Moreover, Lansendel used to sincerely believe that Toril’s Sun God had no chance of waking up again... Mystree’s fall was a huge harm to the Toril Gods.

If she hadn’t sacrificed herself for such a ridiculous reason, the Weave would still be a paradise for the gods.

After all, no matter how capable and astute the other Goddess of Magic are, they can’t control the Weave as freely... Unable to thoroughly master the flow means having to limit others’ usage.

Mystree’s fall, even AO didn’t foresee, so the subsequent Goddess of Magic was obviously the result of his various experiments.

If he had prepared beforehand, from the characteristics of Midnight and Edna, it’s apparent that AO doesn’t like people like Black Eye.

The existence controlling the Weave still needs to harbor less private intentions.

Midnight is another matter, her private intentions aren’t as heavy, but she’s so ’pure white’ that nobody from top to bottom thinks she’s good.

However, Hill believes AO doesn’t truly dislike her; he just feels Midnight’s refusal to change makes her unsuitable to control such high power as the Goddess of Magic.

Otherwise, Edna’s success in detaching Midnight’s soul wouldn’t have been so easy.

So even for AO, Mystree’s accident was genuinely unforeseen.

Moreover, he usually doesn’t really manage the Toril Gods.

But with Mystree turning into the more self-interested Black Eye and Amanata, the one always standing before the gods, falling too, AO had no choice but to monitor these deities.

When Mystree was there, he didn’t need such trouble... The girl would personally intervene when the gods acted inappropriately.

Even Shaer had to endure her constant chatter.

Who made the Weave omnipresent!

Therefore, Lansendel genuinely believes Amanata can never have a day of resurrection.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t understand what it means to let bygones be bygones, what it means to utilize everything that can be utilized.

In AO’s mind, Mystree’s status was definitely not as important as Shaer and Celene.

That adorable goddess was just useful.

Thus, when the time came for a deity bold enough, thick-skinned enough, and wicked enough to stir up the lifeless continent, Amanata became very useful.

In truth, it’s not as though there are no other gods to use... But, Talos, even if some divine soul still floats in the bottom layers of the Stellar Realm, no one wants to bring him back.

Gewoosh can swallow him once and can swallow him again.

Entities that have altered their appearances are easiest to be eroded.

In Toril, among deities thick-skinned and powerful enough, AO can only use these two.

AO clearly hopes these continents will begin moving toward unification.

At least, those scattered small countries and powers should become a nation with sufficient governing power.

Just like the Silvermoon Alliance.

Their kind of small nation alliance format obviously no longer fits AO’s vision for the future... The rapid descent of fate experienced by the Northern Seven Sisters also relates to this to some extent.

With those sisters there, it’s evidently impossible for the North to transform into a unified nation.

In fact, his motives for pulling Edna out are equally questionable.

If raising a daughter as the Goddess of Magic, who believes that son of Azuth would stay put?

If he truly had no ambitions and just wanted to be a pure Mage, why would he go to Silvermoon City?

As for Quel Senta, it’s a city-state system.

If Edna wasn’t raised by the Undead Tribe with a bright heart and clearer understanding, then... compared to her foolish mother, at least she has a survival foundation and a helping hand delivered by her father at adulthood.

Even though he later abandoned continuing to nurture her for various matters, he didn’t abandon her life.

Faced with numerous troubles and after witnessing firsthand how her unworthy mother favored the new offspring, the Edna-Midnight who became the Goddess of Magic will inevitably support her father more.

Quel Senta inevitably has the potential to move towards so-called unity.

Moreover, this also salvaged Midnight and Azuth’s relationship.

AO truly grasped Midnight’s troublesome nature perfectly.

So, when he first cast Midnight into the mortal realm, he didn’t plan to turn this Goddess of Magic into a complete puppet.

But his patience was limited, and he wouldn’t give her another chance.

And in the North, because of the impending fall of the Seven Sisters, it was destined to become tumultuous and fraught with danger.

Which king would willingly be the one taking orders in the alliance?

Who doesn’t wish to be the one giving commands?

It’s just that they can’t prevail, nor do they have a way to fight.

However, AO’s splendid plan was ultimately ruined by the Undead Tribe.

Although Edna’s journey of destiny was turbulent and educational for this Goddess of Magic, the only regret was that there was no substantial difference.

The only two countries that were destroyed were Anmur and Kalinsan, which were initially non-existent in AO’s estimate.

Especially Anmur.

Originally, they hoped their navy could freely dominate the Great Sea and compete with the Sun Elves’ navy fleet!

Of course, the current Elf navy is indeed not as aggressive as before... after all, the Undead Tribe won’t spare their dignity.

If they don’t make way, they’ll get rammed, first with a bombardment, then rammed head-on.

The Elves, after a few tussles with them, understood that this so-called Half-Elf group genuinely doesn’t consider them as kin.

Moreover, between the Undead Tribe and the Elves, Coron clearly stands on the side of the Undead Tribe... for the spoiled Elves, Coron’s fair judgment and then not interfering is seen as bias towards the Undead Tribe.

So now, on the Great Sea, only the Undead Tribe acts with impunity.

No wonder AO felt the need to bring an Athena to counter the Undead Tribe.

His Excellency has always been of such temperament, never allowing forces he cannot control to affect his global plan.

And as AO’s prepared backup, Amanata naturally got highlighted.

Although the Greek Triad have decent intelligence and strength, their morals unknown and likely unmatched, their biggest weakness is being foreign gods.

It’s not like thousands of years ago when the faith among the Toril people was empty, mostly polytheistic.

It’s no longer easy for new deities to enter Toril.

They can only take it slowly, or... make a very meaningful descent.

Athena can gradually fill the void over the ocean.

Artemis, more rightly called the Moon Goddess of the Hunt, can surely stand firm before Marla’s resurrection.

Except Apollo.

Hill has always suspected that he might be the backup for Amanata if things go awry.

Clearly, Lansendel thinks the same... and firmly believes that Amanata’s path of destiny will be particularly humorous.

Darkly so, or more precisely, in the Rose type.

The fashion-loving Sun Peacock can’t handle such a sun.

Even if he once led billions of Elves to risk life and limb to join the Sun God Sect.

Hill can fully understand Lansendel’s determination and supports it very much... he is aware of how terrifying rumors can be.

Whoever takes Amanata’s place must also take on Amanata’s story.

The legacy of the name Mystra actually explains everything... mortals only remember the divinity.

The Lord of Dawn, what a beautiful name!

Why bother becoming Rose’s companion!

If you don’t clarify to AO, the old man, at this time, Lansendel might be unlucky enough to be forcibly assigned in the future.

Fortunately, Celene is a good direct channel to be heard.

And very proactive.

So, she hardly spent much time before looking at Lansendel with curiosity: ”The old man said, don’t regret it later.

You want to walk from Dawn to the Sun, isn’t it because your divinity is weak?

Why? With beliefs from other worlds, you now have confidence?

When faith is lacking, it can disappear in an instant.”

”Toril’s sun is not eternal.” Lansendel’s beady eyes widened round, ”But the light will always be.”

Hill tilted his head, realizing he didn’t mention anything about Quince.

It seems that world is indeed very special.

A special that allows Lansendel to speak such words calmly.
