Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Lansendel’s confidence made Hill a bit perplexed.

This Lord of Dawn is not the type to mix faith with his own strength like a fool.

He uses faith more to support his followers, which is why the Dawn Believers are so strong... because the more devout their faith, the stronger the power returned to them.

Unlike other deities, who act as middlemen and take the most profit.

Shaer actually doesn’t, but she uses the chaotic and complex Faith Power to weave that Shadow Weave.

Could it be because of excessive chaos that once the Light of Dawn enters the Quinces, it’s difficult to erase?

If that’s the case, then his tight grasp on the definitions of ’First Light’ and ’Original Light’ makes sense.

The sun and moon in Quinces, including the stars, can’t form a stable image and meaning.

For that world, abstract concepts like light and darkness are more stable.

Of course, if one could become a normal world’s Sun God, then concepts wouldn’t matter.

But Lansendel would never abandon his stronghold to become some Sun God in a small world.

He must remain in Toril.

So, he used to waver because of the path’s challenges... if the sun can’t hold on and gets extinguished by Shaer, what would he, as the God of Dawn, become?

Lansendel never had such thoughts when Amanata was still around.

After realizing that Toril’s Sun God was not only brainless but also useless, he felt he should take the higher role... Lansendel has always been confident, never doubting that his domain’s sun would be destroyed by Shaer.

Because of these complex emotions, Lansendel set Shaer as his enemy before creating the Dawn Calamity.

Amanata’s fall gave him a strong sense of crisis.

Confident and capable people usually take control of things that might harm them, and Lansendel is clearly such a person.

After experiencing so much, plus with Tai Ji’s interference, it seems Lansendel has decided to stick to his original path and no longer be swayed by these troubles.

With Hill’s understanding of his friend, he must have arranged a path for himself that gives him enough confidence that he won’t be unlucky if Toril’s sun falls.

Otherwise, he would remain ambiguous and wouldn’t speak so strongly against AO.

It’s known that the old man would truly exclude you from destiny if you speak too assertively.

Regret, in his eyes, is something only he can do.

What Hill can comprehend, Shaer naturally can too... and AO who heard Celene’s message also understands.

Only Celene is still entangled with the issue of faith.

But what Lansendel seeks has always been unrelated to faith.

Unlike Tyr, whose heart is in a foreign land and cannot return, Lansendel’s heart is still in Toril, he simply wishes to leave himself a backup path... Tai Ji’s fate serves as his eternal warning beacon.

Thus, AO merely mumbled, ’Don’t regret it later’, and wasn’t dissatisfied with Lansendel’s attitude.

Even warned him in other worlds not to get involved in faith disputes.

But when Celene conveyed the message, she did so... chaotically.

Luckily, Lansendel didn’t listen to her words much, but grasped the most crucial point.

Hill also understood from his reply, even though he still doesn’t know what benefit Lansendel got from Quinces, the result is good, and there’s no need to dig out his friend’s secrets.

If he had followed Celene’s direction earlier, he would have veered from Heavenly Mountain straight into the Bottomless Abyss.

-----------------

Shaer wasn’t planning to join the nearby meaningless chatter.

Compared to others, she is the one who knows more about Lansendel’s movements.

Though the Undead Tribe in Quinces isn’t large, it’s existent.

Moreover, many Undead choose to visit Quinces for a while.

Living there long-term is painful, but occasional visits are quite fun.

Even Shaer couldn’t help but take a look.

After all, others’ accidents upon accidents are an unexpected joy for outsiders.

Thus, Shaer is the one who saw Lansendel’s real situation in Quinces from start to finish.

This fellow truly fits the characteristics of Quinces people: those lacking optimism can’t survive in that world.

Quinces people love beauty, excitement, and especially observing, always exuberant.

Although there is plenty of evil, even the Evil Faction will abandon their plots and schemes for something particularly interesting, indulging in enjoyment before worrying about the future.

Lansendel in that place is more than at home; it’s as if the Little Bear has fallen into a pot of honey.

Everywhere is sweet.

But Shaer didn’t connect their actions to Celene.

Clearly, it’s the same chaos.

Hill’s cat daughter appears much more pleasant... So, her being worshipped by the Quinces and revered as Queen, Shaer can understand.

She is indeed pampered and capricious, with a volatile temper, but she has boundaries, and they aren’t low.

Most importantly, although she is somewhat selfish, she still considers others’ feelings... Upon realizing someone’s unwillingness, even while murmuring and visibly upset, she wouldn’t force others to do as she pleases.

She might curse, but doesn’t act in earnest.

Even when competing with others, her approach isn’t genuinely chaotic... Her boundaries are too high, and she listens to her subordinates’ opinions carefully, sticking to her ideas, but if persuaded by her subordinates, she is open to change.

I truly don’t know how Hill managed to raise such a girl.

Including that Little Sea God too... However, Agleya is better than this Queen of Cats, Alice.

Shaer has observed William communicating with Agleya several times, and this girl is much more proper, even showing no expression when asked about Hill, maintaining composure at other times.

Even while discussing the division of interests between Sea Race and Human Race with William.

Agleya doesn’t strictly adhere to rules either, but she seems to have her own standards for people and matters.

Although William says Agleya generally follows Hill’s guidelines handling these affairs, Shaer knows well it’s hard to claim she’s truly chaotic when adopting someone else’s principles as her own.

Yet, in Teraxil’s assessment, Agleya remains chaotic... This girl manages the sea in a rather carefree manner.

Totally ignoring existing rules, she calls forth winds and rains, raising storms at will.

However, her storms seem harmless to the human world.

Sometimes Shaer doesn’t comprehend it at all... But it likely ties to the Undead Tribe, so she doesn’t bother about it.

Anyway, Teraxil’s world is indeed distinct in many aspects compared to Toril.

The only certainty Shaer has is Hill, who raised these chaotic natural deities to such a degree, is truly formidable.

A formidable worthy of respect.

At least, before encountering these two Chaos System goddesses, Shaer never imagined seeing such an incredible side of chaos.

Thus, her later feelings towards Ambori’s transformation were insignificant... The person called Chief Steward Lu by the Undead Tribe is undoubtedly talented, yet he’s only proficient in adapting, knowing how to fulfill his goals following Ambori’s lead.

Though Ambori has also changed considerably, she doesn’t feel much of it herself... In her mind, those are things she wants to do.

Unlike Hill, making the chaotic system consider what not to do before acting: they know something conflicts with their views, yet are willing to abide by it.

This truly renders Shaer surprised and at a loss.

Yes, she feels bewildered.

Still, with Hill and his two daughters’ presence, Shaer can release past matters... Celene and she may be inherently flawed but aren’t destined to remain bad children.

Perhaps she holds herself in high regard, but... It’s never existed, and having someone achieve it always sparks a pitiful hope.

While playing in Quince with Shaer, William mentioned that chaos, though it troubles those willing to abide by order, isn’t non-essential—she kind of grasped it.

Quince is chaotic throughout, yet Shaer didn’t dislike it at all.

Even though it frustrates her, making her want to leave... She has no desire to obliterate that world completely.

Thus, Shaer had no surprise regarding Lansendel resonating with certain laws there, inscribing himself as the Light of Dawn into the world’s deep consciousness.

In some respect, Lansendel aligns with the world’s rules... Appearing unruly, yet possessing a firm core.

This core, however, is like flowing liquid, soft but existent.

Hence, beings like Alice and Lansendel can thrive in such a world.

But for Celene, it’s impossible.

That one is destined to sink alongside Toril forever.

Just like herself.

Shaer lightly glanced at Celene, still arguing with Lansendel, her mouth slightly tugged downward, then back to normal: ”What nonsense are you speaking!”

”Aren’t we supposed to be observing those Gods of Order?”

Lansendel immediately realized, ignoring Celene who changed the topic to another world, with paws slightly moved, the third giant screen rose: it displayed the scene outside the Pool of Life.
