Surviving The Fourth Calamity

The Undead Tribe faced the harshest revenge from Hill to date.

Even though they struggled for most of the night, emerging again from underground and through the Dimensional Gate, they could only reach the mountain’s foot.

The mountain still had to be climbed.

And now, it’s the most troublesome moment.

Although the sheer number of climbers meant there wasn’t really a perfect time to open the maze at the summit, the slippery feet inevitable caused tumbling.

Of course, because of the crowd, the scenario of going from the summit back to the foot of the mountain didn’t happen... but the domino effect certainly affected those below.

Which meant, the later they arrived, the harder the fall.

And among them, there was a particular group undoubtedly left for last... ’Young Master’ and his symphonic choir.

However, some people seemed destined for misfortune, even Benshasha started wondering if such a figure even exists who could blow a flying kiss.

For example, ’Magic Sword’ from Black Rose.

While ’Old Age Striking King’ had already entered the Magic Tower’s hall, found a task puppet that pleased her, placed her little Mushroom House in front, and started tidying up her somewhat disheveled clothes from the rain and tumbling, those alongside ’Magic Sword’ were still wandering within the maze’s inner zone.

’Perfect Bald’ who already knew the outside news finally broke down... He actually realized during his encounter with ’Young Master’ that he was doomed this time... Hill would certainly leave a deep impression on the culprits.

As the leader who was caught by the infamous unlucky ’Magic Sword’ during a hurricane and dragged into this mess, he could only resign to his fate.

Yet, he accepts hardship.

But he absolutely won’t tolerate calamities caused by people!

Now he finally understood why every time ’Magic Sword’ and ’Young Master’ gathered, they always ended up in places unreachable by humans!

One lacked brains and the other lacked sanity!

’Perfect Bald’ grabbed ’Young Master’s’ eager little legs: ”Young Master! Stop leading the way!”

”Huh? Why!” ’Young Master’ said with dissatisfaction, ”I think the next one is definitely an exit!”

”Exit my foot! Exit your head!” ’Perfect Bald’ couldn’t care any longer about family sentiment, the law stating that clan leaders should not tear each other apart, ”How could Hill set the maze’s exit at the summit?

Do you think he’s doing charity?

He’s avenging you!

You really think leaving the maze would lead you straight to the Magic Tower?

Given even the elder can’t avoid tripping over that slippery slope, how could he not expect you to climb it?

Did you really not notice you’re heading upwards?”

’Young Master’ lifted his leg forward, then turned to glance at ’Magic Sword’ standing on the other side: ”Huh? Magic Sword, am I walking upwards?

Why didn’t you remind me?”

’Perfect Bald’ had a reason for his late outburst... In places with two clan leaders, to prevent speech division that enemies could exploit, their alliance regulated that they must first identify the primary responsible person.

Unless it’s confirmed that the decision made by this responsible person impacts everyone’s interest and leads to failure, another clan leader couldn’t interfere.

Even though it’s merely a maze without much danger, just some scares, ’Perfect Bald’ adhered to that rule... after all, he lost the initial rock-paper-scissors game.

’Young Master’ might not favor using his brain, but luck was genuinely on his side.

Yet, no matter how lucky, if his clever mind doesn’t work, he still faces failure.

Just like now, hesitantly lifting his leg unsure of where to step, only to push the blame onto another clueless guy, ’Young Master.’

’Magic Sword’ glanced down at him in confusion: ”Didn’t you say, let me stay here silent and follow you?”

Although clan leaders couldn’t say much, as a member of another family, ’Magic Sword’ could still offer his opinion.

After all, it’s just about providing an opinion, whether it gets heard or not is another matter.

So, the clan leaders weren’t absolutely speechless... however, ’Perfect Bald’ had with him the famous black humor figure ’Magic Sword.’

He’s the one-in-a-million misfortune magnet, destined to step into that role of Benshasha’s patron.

Since ’Young Master’ forbade him to speak, ’Perfect Bald’ didn’t mind either... even if he might recognize if ’Young Master’ was wrong, once they act according to his words, maybe they’d instantly find themselves facing Rose Dung Pit instead of ghostly illusions.

Ghostly wails might be terrifying, but compared to a body covered in uniquely yellow spots, it’s really nothing.

Even with him silenced, the group had a few instances where ’Magic Sword’ hit a wall or supported the ground, inexplicably changing positions.

’Perfect Bald’ hesitated to criticize ’Young Master’ earlier for this reason too... despite ’Young Master’ having a dubious sense of direction, their family’s ’Magic Sword’ brought even greater chaos.

Although ’Perfect Bald’ had already mentally shattered the ’Magic Sword’ that led him to the ’Young Master’ maze, as a renowned protector of his own, he consciously took on the responsibility due to his own reckless companion.

The ’Young Master’ sighed, hands on hips, as he put down his small foot: ”I say, Bald, are we even now?

Below, will you lead the way?”

’Perfect Bald’ took a deep breath, swallowed the flood of expletives, and spun around to lead the way... Only then did he realize that the reason the ’Young Master’ got the directions wrong was due to the ’Magic Sword’ repeatedly crashing into the walls.

Originally, the ’Young Master’s’ method of heading in one direction was clumsy, but far from useless.

This kind of mountain maze, no matter how circuitous, still has its limits.

In theory, even if ’Young Master’ chose the wrong direction, they’d only be taking a longer route than others.

But... with the ’Magic Sword,’ they’ve presumably walked several circles inside.

Each time hope appeared, they’d crash into another ring.

That’s why the ’Young Master’ spoke of evening the score.

What could ’Perfect Bald’ do?

He could only smile and accept the reality, waiting to go back and give the ’Magic Sword’ a good beating.

However, what ’Perfect Bald’ didn’t expect was that the journalist filming diligently distorted his ferocious face onto the big screen.

Countless members of the Undead Tribe already queued in the hall saw his contorted expression from pent-up frustration... Truly, only a few remained in the maze without reaching the mountain base.

While the climbers were interesting, who could compare to the misfortune of the two Proud Sky Alliance Clan Leaders?

Even the ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was queued at the hall entrance.

His difficult climb was documented on screen... Though everybody kept their distance when passing this Proud Sky Alliance Commander, many were willing to snap a photo as a souvenir.

This was the situation at first.

Later on, people were more curious about how many digits would follow the ’Snow Cloud Peak Climbing Relay 1-’.

No one expected that even after the grand relay ended, the savvy Clan Leader of the Black Rose remained trapped in the maze.

Initially, some turned their tablets his way, likely waiting for the moment he’d curse himself... The self-torment of ’Perfect Bald’ and ’Young Master’ truly satisfied many people.

Now, everyone was enthusiastically focused on their betting pool.

When no one could predict whether this group could reach the summit before dawn, the bets were bound to happen.

Black Rose and Youth Journey of the Wenjian World weren’t shy about laying wagers.

So, when ’Perfect Bald’ finally couldn’t hold back and took control, a sigh resounded through the hall... Actually, many were puzzled why the ’Young Master’ felt his sense of direction was better than the construction-savvy ’Perfect Bald’.

But ’Perfect Bald’ did improve many people’s impression of him... Proud Sky Alliance’s rules were no secret; his perseverance to this point was truly admirable for his patience and principles.

Therefore, even as his fierce face appeared on everyone’s screens, the majority only took screenshots, with few cursing aloud.

”Who’s filming the video? Why haven’t they spoken?” The ’Old Age Striking King,’ having tidied herself up, changed into a pale pink dress, packed away her little Mushroom House, and settled on a high-backed rocking chair.

Possibly due to her famous custom Mushroom House, the people queued behind her mostly belonged to the Proud Sky Alliance.

While Black Rose had the most members present, there were various other families, largely girls.

”Elder.” The Magic Cult’s ’Qiuqiu’ spoke softly, ”I just had someone check, but no one saw Lu Huayu or Zhu Meili.

Whom do you think is inside?”

”We’ve got Teraxil’s appearance!” The ’Old Age Striking King’ raised her head thoughtfully, ”Zhu Meili’s original account was canceled, wasn’t it?

So, when you searched for him, did you use his original image or the one he later created... wait, did you find out what he later created looked like?

When we were in Aesces, weren’t we using Toril’s appearance?

Could it be that you checked wrong?”

’Qiuqiu’ paused: ”I’ll ask around.”

Soon she replied: ”Ah, it’s my mistake; they haven’t updated Zhu Meili Te Laxi’er’s appearance in their records yet.

I’ll go search for it now!”

”Then it must be Lu Huayu inside?” The ’Old Age Striking King’ pondered aloud, ”Do you suppose he’s purposely seeking out the Young Master?”

”What’s swirling in your head?” Suddenly, ’Passion Fruit,’ who had been squatting in the back without speaking, asked... She’s in charge of Wenjian management.
