Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1192: Chapter 983: Edna Playing with a Fan

“This is quite… a quick complaint!” Devis laughed after understanding.

Not many people dare to meddle with Storm Queen Xinbu’s students, even if they are the hidden controllers of Shadow Valley, her sister Hillen’s disciples can’t do it either.

Xinbu possesses incredible magic power along with a matching temperament, but River, it’s likely she’s just got the temper left.

So discovering River breaking the agreement and coming out to find this suspected Saint… who knows if she believes this Miss Saint’s identity, or is looking for a flaw in Miss Saint’s story.

But from the fact that she personally showed up, bringing only a few of the youngest and weakest mages, it seems to be a bit of both.

This is instead the most troublesome state.

So the Shadow Valley disciple under Hillen quickly contacted the Twisted Tower… Luckily, this is Deepwater City, and there’s a Magic Tower belonging to another Mistrala Elector, otherwise, in this situation, would they have to shout it over the Weave for everyone to hear?

Now, Weave communication is like a full-frequency broadcast. Anyone with the capacity to perceive the deeper layers of the Weave can almost all hear the transmitted messages.

Moreover, even those in the underworld who used to use the Shadow Weave are included now.

Currently, who wants to use a Message Spell unless it’s for rescue or public outcry!

But those Shadow Weave users, after discovering this fun, pointedly cursed for a while, especially those guys who drove them underground.

Due to the internal unrest in Sel, with Storm Queen Xinbu temporarily free during this time… Hillen might not leave Shadow Valley, so she simply came herself.

After all, she knows exactly what kind of students she teaches… As the Queen of Ejialalong, Xinbu usually associates with Great Nobility or archmages who are on good terms with Elminster, so anyone she takes on as a student certainly wouldn’t have low status.

Rather than letting River and others make a fuss until it becomes impossible to deal with, forcing Kelben to intervene… As Laila’s sister, Xinbu doesn’t wish to go that far.

If it weren’t for Laila’s two kids, she would have demolished the Black Staff Tower long ago.

“Why did the teacher come?” River shouted in shock, then she turned and looked at Manks, who was smiling at them, with a sudden realization.

Yaro couldn’t help but turn his head in another direction to hide his face full of unbearable expressions.

With that kind of intelligence, they still dare to compete with Miss Edna?

Two days ago, when Yaro saw that brown-haired, black-eyed female mage, he felt like he saw Elaströ… Then he remembered a long-standing rumor in Silvermoon City: Because Elaströ once accepted a possession from Black Eye, she shares many similar aspects with the former Mistrala, especially in temperament.

And Edna, serving as a figure connected to both sides, naturally exudes a similar aura.

This young lady’s future is certainly unlimited… Silvermoon City had already offended once, though it was unintentional, Edna obviously still harbors some resentment.

So it’d be best not to continue offending her.

Mages in Silvermoon City have always been rational, they would never do something as foolish as trying to completely crush someone due to slight offense… It’s best to reconcile sooner when possible.

People with a long-term vision wouldn’t bother with trivial matters… How could someone who counts every little thing have time to train diligently?

So if they really encounter someone who kicks up a fuss over small matters, Elaströ never fears them.

Even though miracles exist in this world, that miracle doesn’t necessarily have the power to oppress Silvermoon City… Even when Mistrala was on the worst terms with Azuth, she would respond to an elector’s call.

Lady Midnight is merely somewhat extreme, but not to the point of madness.

Yaro thought for a while, then pulled the male mage from Shadow Valley and said a few words before turning toward the jewelry store where Edna was located.

“Miss Edna,” Yaro said with a gentle smile, “Lady Xinbu has arrived at the Black Staff Tower, would you like to go see her?

There’s nothing to worry about, this isn’t some secret meeting.

The Storm Queen doesn’t like trouble, so she usually resolves everything at once, and many nobles including the lords of Deepwater City have been invited.”

Yaro glanced at Olasco Barso: “Paladin of Heim, those words are meaningless when said to us.

Even though we are also Mistrala electors, this is Deepwater City’s affair, and you can only negotiate with Kelben.

Moreover, haven’t people in Deepwater City always believed Elaströ to be a crazy woman with idle time?

Our Radiant Lady has a broad mind, but not to the point of interfering in others’ business.

The lords of Deepwater City are so strong, what can’t they resolve?”

Olasco chuckled coldly twice.

Edna looked at Yaro with a puzzled face: “I’ll check if an invitation has been sent to me when I get back; this isn’t something I can decide by simply wanting it, is it?

“Right, are the people from Silvermoon City also waiting for an invitation?”

Yaro narrowed his eyes slightly and smiled sincerely, “Ah, of course, a formal invitation will be sent to the Jade Pot Inn.”

He turned to glance at the numerous people by Edna’s side, “Maybe it’s already been delivered. But who can receive it?”

Edna clearly understood Yaro’s implication; although many of the Undead Tribe are lazy to go out, as hired guards, they are not qualified to receive such a formal invitation from a queen of a nation.

Although the deliverers are still those Shadow Valley Mages, when they deliver letters in the name of Xinbu, they are representatives of the Queen of Agralunde.

“Elvia has always been in the hall.” Edna silently took out her 360-degree brocade fan and happily fanned her face, “The White Dragon Queen has the authority to make any decisions for me.

The Shadow Valley Mages should be quite familiar with her~

After all, they’ve dealt with each other for over a thousand years.”

Elvia and Arausato are both ambitious White Dragons. It’s heard that whenever a mage ruin appears, or if a mage is gone but the tower remains, they will take the initiative to act.

And in Shadow Valley, especially Xinbu’s faction, there is a crazier pursuit of magic knowledge compared to other places… Submitting a magic book that Xinbu doesn’t have comes with a reward so generous it drives most people mad.

If it weren’t for this Storm Queen being so reclusive and having an overly peculiar personality… not only easily angered but often turning those who anger her into slaves, her royal palace would have long been crowded with merchants from all over the world.

However, people from Shadow Valley don’t receive such treatment. Elminster’s presence makes Xinbu a bit more amiable… at most, just getting a beating.

Unfortunately, if they fight over magic ruins outside, especially those on islands, and encounter these White Dragon bandit duo, there’s virtually no chance of winning… Elvia’s reputation as a ‘Mage Killer’ owes partly to contributions from Shadow Valley people as well.

Yaro could only show an awkward smile, “Miss Edna is truly hard to imagine as so powerful! Even the White Dragon Queen Elvia, who has been rampant in The North for so long, is willing to follow you.

Lady Xinbu would surely be pleased to meet you.”

Edna fanned herself casually, “Elvia and Arausato are actually reasonable.

I think even Lord Hill wouldn’t find them unreasonable; otherwise, White Dragon Mountain wouldn’t exist in Agleya.

Ah… though it’s only been a day away, I already miss the food in the lord’s market street… Nasir, are there any good restaurants in Deepwater City? Not the ones I’ve been to before, I’m not nostalgic about them.

Mage Yaro, I understand your intent. I’ll consider it.

However, it’s not like I’ve not met Lady Xinbu before. With the abilities of this Archmage, it’s impossible for her to forget me.

Whether or not to meet me, as long as it doesn’t affect my travels, it’s fine.”

Yaro looked at the constantly fanning fan, resisting the urge to turn his head to look out the window… This lady had practically copied all of Manks’ fan signals just now.

Is the memory of an Eighth Ring Mage used for this?

But he understood that the other party really had no interest in these few grandmother’s sisters, nor would she attend the banquet under the guise of a junior… If she were to appear, it could only be as Agleya’s representative.

Yaro bowed slightly and solemnly asked, “Lord of Agleya…”

Edna’s fan flared rapidly, “Oh my~ Hill only has three mayors in his territories, and here…” She closed the fan and pointed to Leonard, who was engrossed in watching, “Agleya Municipal Officer’s younger brother.”

Then she pointed the other side of the fan at herself, “The future mayor of Hidden Town, already registered as the sole heir on the shore.”

She flared open the fan again… The only exposed pair of black eyes smiled like crescents, “Do you think Hill would deny who he sent as a representative?

Wherever we go, we can confidently use Agleya’s name, including for credit.”

Yaro could only nod, “I understand. Then… I’ll take my leave for now.”

Edna nodded with a smile, and waved a set of standard farewell gestures with her fan.

“This guy really has patience!” Nasir couldn’t help but marvel after watching, “If it were that Xinbu’s student, they’d probably be fighting you by now?”

“That woman from Shadow Valley, although foolish and bad, and so jealous it’s annoying, I wouldn’t treat her this way. If there’s something, just confront her directly.” Edna closed the fan with a face showing a hint of disdain, “But these Silver Palace Mages from Silvermoon City… hehe~ how do they have the face to bring up those past relationships in front of me?

If there really were relationships…” She paused before continuing, “I wouldn’t appear in Agleya either.

Xinbu is indeed very strong… but so what?

Can she drag Azuth down for a beating, or dare to go to Agleya’s Floating Castle to confront Hill?”

Gendilarei suddenly interjected, “I’d rather hope she goes to the Floating Castle.”
