Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1161: Chapter 953: Rose After the Conspiracy

Hill was a bit confused.

He really thought that his Agleya City could just be a rest stop.

But what does this mean now… Edna isn’t capable of being the protagonist, so Shaer is taking the stage?

What exactly is AO planning?

Hill looked around at his city… does this mean that after flourishing for tens of thousands of years, the Sword Bay Area will inevitably have to pay the price?

But he chose the Undead Swamp here because it was the first Sword Bay nation to be destroyed!

Hill silently looked up at the sky… it was late now, and probably only a few hours to sunset. If this group of dragons really wanted to make a move against Shaer, they couldn’t choose today.

After all, playing night battles with Shaer is not called robbery; it’s called gifting dragon skin.

He tilted his head in thought… Shaer should not be planning to let anyone help, including letting him command the Puzzle Lock defense.

“List.” Hill said softly, “Tell Lynn, no matter what happens in the next few days, he should not leave the city hall.”

If someone really wants to target Agleya, then it must be directed at Lynn… If a divine artifact is used to sacrifice a transcendent strong person just to kill one citizen, Hill would have nothing to say.

But generally, no matter how reckless, no one would choose to waste resources like this.

However, such a cunning Rose, who has fought with Shaer for so long, couldn’t possibly overlook that the Steel Dragons might fail… No one could be sure whether Celene would intervene.

One must know, even the Maiden of the Moon herself was caught in the chaos, completely unsure what choice she would make when the time came!

Hill silently contemplated for a while, digging from deep in his memory a kind god who might suddenly cause problems: “It’s been a while since we’ve heard news of the Dark Maiden, how is she?”

“Elisutui?” Celene asked in surprise, “How did you think of her? Did Kui Lu Viladoren also send people?”

“Did she reach an agreement with Villon?” Hill turned to ask.

“Of course not, her brother is very stubborn, fooled silly by Rose.” Celene suddenly realized, “Ah! The Weave is broken, Villon… could he have escaped?

No way!

He had already lost his body, and though the Weave bound him, it also protected him, otherwise Rose would have devoured him!

But I didn’t feel him completely disappear.

Could it be that Elisutui put Villon’s spirituality into her own body?”

Hill looked silently at the distant wilderness… He almost forgot that during the Magicplague, it wasn’t just Mystra who fell, but also Elisui, who shared some Weave permissions with Mystra.

Although this was just to lock up her meddlesome yet somewhat stupid brother Villon in the Weave, ensnaring him in Mystra’s “Endless Dream,” slowly persuading Villon to cooperate and make a contract with Mystra and Elisutui,

though Midnight was somewhat extreme and willful, she was never foolish, absolutely aware her actions were essentially breakdancing on AO’s nerves… she knew she’d eventually get dealt with.

She had walked the Path of Destiny herself, so couldn’t have been unprepared.

But the more she prepared, the greater AO’s response was.

Thus, not long after they locked up Villon, when Rose was searching for her rebellious little daughter, attempting to ensnare the siblings together, Mystra directly took a hit from Cyric.

Elisutui, unprotected by the Weave, quickly disappeared from sight, Villon likely still fighting with her over control of their body… The overly kind Dark Maiden would never strike a fatal blow against her own brother.

But Villon wouldn’t be foolish enough to expose himself either, given that Rose had long wanted to devour the siblings, taking their divinities in one sweep.

If Elisutui could successfully inherit Villon’s divinity… turning into the more complete divinity of the Masked Maiden: besides her own poetry, beauty, dance, swordsmanship, hunting, and moonlight, also her brother’s: theft, deception, Zholar Poison Master and poison, male Zholar, evil deeds on the surface… those in the know would understand Villon’s stance.

He’d rather let Elisutui, who defeated him, easily inherit his divinity and followers than let it fall to Rose.

But no one knows if Elisutui, who hasn’t appeared for so long, has fallen into Rose’s hands.

The reason Hill had these suspicions was that he never believed that Rose, after provoking others to act, would merely watch coldly by and not seize benefits… the Seat of Sakuxier, for someone living in the Bottomless Abyss with covetous neighbors like Rose, is quite an allure!

Not to mention dealing with Shaer, who just set a bomb on her spider web.

But Rose surely understands that herself making a move is impossible… Lansendel might not stop the Steel Dragons’ assault on Shaer, but would definitely thwart her, residing in the Bottomless Abyss.

These deities of Toril treat those residing in the Stellar Realm and those living in the Abyss differently.

And the only one this cunning Spider Queen, who has betrayed too many, so other deities aren’t willing to engage, could use, Hill reckoned, is the Dark Maiden.

Hill sighed, somewhat unsure what to do if that tall Dark Elf with silver hair cascading to her ankles really appeared outside Agleya City.

“If Elisutui actually chooses to appear here today,” Shaer said coldly, “then it proves she lost her gamble.”

Villon is not as strong-willed as Mask at all; as long as Rose shows a bit of toughness, he’ll give up on his sister.

Celene, I know you and Elisitui have a good relationship, but when the time comes, don’t make things difficult for yourself.”

“Elisitui…” The Maiden of the Moon pondered for a moment before saying, “She once sent me a message, saying if one day she gets controlled by Rose, I must find a way to destroy that body.”

“What do you mean?” Shaer asked, confused.

“She and Mystra seem to have discussed something, and through their shared Chosen, they meddled a bit with the Weave.” Celene tilted her head, recalling, “Of course, she knew her brother was a big problem, so she prepared in advance.

In the depths of Villon’s soul, who knows how many hidden hands Rose has!

If not, that guy wouldn’t behave so foolishly… even Coron doesn’t want to acknowledge him as his son.”

Lansendel suddenly laughed: “Hill… if Elisitui really comes over, could you and the Undead Tribe really lay a hand on her?”

Hill’s lips twitched abruptly… If Coron hadn’t acted quickly last time, the Gods of Teraxil would probably have killed one of his sons; Hill absolutely guarantees his stance: he would only ever act as William’s henchman.

“Hill doesn’t need to take action.” Shaer spoke decisively, “And there’s no need for the Undead Tribe’s assistance either.

This time, I want them to understand what the power of shadows truly means!

Heh~ Rose?

Her own spider web is in tatters, yet she dares to provoke me?”

She lightly closed her eyes, speaking slowly and deliberately: “Mask has been lurking in the Shadow Realm for too long; it’s time for him to go out and have a good relaxation.”

Hill used quite some strength to stifle his inner shock… Shaer clearly captured Mask long ago, yet hasn’t devoured him!

For the Lady of the Night, Mask’s existence has always been a thorn in her heart; she can’t tolerate any presence dabbling in the Shadow Realm.

However, Mask can be said to symbolize the most extreme and chaotic part of the Shadow Force… once she’s reclaimed him, Shaer will inevitably be affected as well.

Her statement indicates she has decided to abandon that part of the power!

Mask is not so easily captured. Once out of Shaer’s control, he has countless ways to hide himself well.

But it seems Shaer means to let Mask take a stroll in the Spider Magic Net… accompanied by that Chaos Demon Dog following him?

That dog, capable of biting through anything, is indeed enough to cause heart-wrenching destruction for Rose.

Hill concealed the many waves in his heart, standing aside with a smile, knowing his shock would have someone to voice it… Celene was already shouting loudly: “Shaer! Have you been poisoned? What could be so terrifying to affect the embodiment of Primordial Power?

I’m going to find the old man!

Wait for me…”

“Celene, you insolent fool! You’re not allowed to run around spouting nonsense!” Shaer finally couldn’t maintain her noble, cold, and glamorous goddess image, shouting curses at her sister who was prone to making a fuss, “Can’t you see how disgusted I am by Mask’s laws?

If you see it and still say such things, are you stupid or malicious?”

“Ah…” The Maiden of the Moon giggled, saying, “I don’t mind if you call me both stupid and malicious~ as long as I get to speak out!

But, having gone to such lengths, can William just stand by and watch you be ganged up on?”

Shaer sneered: “Talking to you is pointless.

What do you know aside from judging appearances?

Of course William understands my thoughts, and he would never just act on my behalf without discussing it with me first, especially something that stands before me.

Who am I?

The Lady of the Night, the embodiment of Primordial Darkness, why would I need anyone else’s protection?

If I can’t win, I’d choose to flee; William would definitely be willing to leave me a corner to breathe in his Divine Kingdom, but he would never rush out to fight for me before I’ve requested help!”

Celene still struggled to understand, the silvery-blue moonlight around her almost flashing like a blue strobe light: “I really don’t understand what you mean.

Shaer.

Do you like him because he doesn’t actively protect you?

What is that even?”

Shaer coldly said, “Because he understands what it means to walk alongside each other.”

Hill silently turned to glance at the Lady of the Night: no wonder the protagonists of big female lead novels like to seek out soldiers; they like being treated as comrades-in-arms rather than little princesses.
