Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1157: Chapter 949: Topics… Rapid Switching

Lynn glanced at the two waves of guests who had already given up on Kelben, his eyebrows raised slightly: Shadow Valley and Silvermoon City, it seems they had an understanding beforehand… they gave up too quickly.

It looked like just going through the motions.

Although Kelben’s actions were indeed repugnant, Hill’s choice not to reconcile was not surprising, yet their quick abandonment without trying to propose any compensatory measures for negotiation left Lynn a little surprised.

Kelben is Laila’s husband… does he not even struggle a bit?

The renowned Northern Seven Sisters, even though they have been doing their own things over the years, are actually quite united… even Elminster wouldn’t dare to easily offend his little wife.

After quarreling with Storm Silverhand, that powerful old mage just went to the Stellar Realm to build an Ilminster Star to hide himself… otherwise, even a Ninth Ring Spell wouldn’t have been understood how to cast through this fragile Weave all these years.

Those capable ones are using some means to bypass it… Mistrala’s Preaching Mage has only transmitted some methods to bypass the Weave, rather than how to utilize it.

Though it’s also due to the deeper layers of the Weave being increasingly fragile… only after Mistrala’s return can those energy conduits woven with Primordial Power be fully restored, but if it were Elminster or Azuth, there would be no way even over several years that a Ninth Ring auxiliary magic couldn’t be used through the Weave.

It only proves that this lady named Numia, although promoted to Preaching Mage by Mistrala, is far inferior to her predecessor… Midnight’s cunning choice found an absolutely loyal mage to her, but the ability cannot match that lady’s loyalty.

Lynn glanced lightly at the female mage from Shadow Valley, he always thought with Laila around, Kelben would definitely not be too excessive, but now it seems, has their relationship already broken apart to the point where not even a slight effort is made?

Having stayed in the Silvermoon Alliance for over a hundred years, Lynn is well aware of Lady Elaströ’s smooth and considerate, easily non-offensive way of doing things.

And Yaro is obviously a Grand Mage from the Elaströ Silver Palace… his way of speaking and handling things evidently got the nod from that lady.

Has Kelben been too arrogant these years because of Mistrala’s favor?

But Mistrala has fallen for several years already?

How can Kelben ensure that when that lady retakes her Divine Throne, she will still favor him?

It’s uncertain if Midnight is willing to keep memories of the past!

Anyway, she always uses the name Mistrala, whether it’s Edna Mistrala, or Midnight Mistrala, isn’t that up to her to decide?

However, although understanding this Shadow Valley mage intends to flatter the Lord of Agleya by praising Edna… Lynn cannot deny that Edna’s growth to this degree is indeed thanks to their efforts in Agleya, but can he admit this?

Knowing too much sometimes is quite troublesome… even flattering words can’t be casually accepted.

But as a common person who knows nothing… Lynn lightly sighs inwardly, he can’t even say the words to change the topic, tsk, can only cause trouble!

Lynn looked at the female mage who was discussing Edna with him, and said calmly, “Miss Edna has her own inheritance, we can only say she is clever, and has grown well without guidance.”

Yaro pondered Lynn’s words, seemingly perceiving this Agleya Municipal Officer’s dissatisfaction towards Sharol… clearly having the mother who is a mage nearby, but still self-learning, that’s not a good comment.

To criticize this irresponsible mother, even the meticulously teaching Mithril Elf leader wouldn’t be mentioned?

Hmm… Looks like there’s a bit of disharmony between Luskan and Agleya City, indeed, with Laila’s temperament, who can get along with her joyfully?

Although Lynn is not as strong as Laila, he is the spokesperson for Archmage Hill, certainly won’t yield to the proud Laila.

But what does this have to do with him? Sharol’s father and the Silver Palace mage, although both belong to Elaströ, are truly not of the same kind!

Financial officer and technical officer… from the day these two positions appeared, they were meant to argue.

Yaro smiled indifferently, “Anyway, Miss Edna has indeed grown well, but unfortunately, she’s always stayed in the inn, unwilling to see outsiders.

It’s always that Mr. Devis who speaks for her, while Quel Senta Mage appears fine, but surely he can’t… completely represent Edna Mage, can he?

Isn’t that Leonard Mage more suitable?”

Lynn raised his eyes to look, tugging out a faint smile, “Everyone has their suitable position, the wise would refrain from doing more than necessary.

Moreover, compared to others, Edna and Leonard have been more greatly frightened… they directly faced the war between powerful Divine Powers, it’s normal for their spirits to be somewhat tense.

Once they’ve settled their emotions, they will come out.

If it weren’t for Edna being overly cautious, I would actually hope she and Leonard moved to Gaul Inn in Agleya City, after all, a shop owned by our own family would be more comfortable.

Unfortunately, Edna demands too much from her training, unwilling to borrow any external power, nor to give up those team members that are just somewhat problematic, opting for the port inn.

Of course, Leonard can only follow his captain.

Though as a brother, I’m quite distressed, but I can’t possibly obstruct my brother’s ambition, right?

Therefore, the only thing I can do is to keep from disturbing them.”

Yaro first silently glances at Lynn… when you refer to followers of Shaer, Rose, and Bane as team members with somewhat problems, can’t you be a bit ashamed?

Then he burst into loud laughter: “Haha~ indeed, as the elder brother, it’s best to do whatever I can.

Let’s wait patiently… I’m just not sure how long they’ll rest?”

Lynn returned a brilliant smile: “That depends on Edna herself… after experiencing such a significant event, as a mage, shouldn’t she take good time to reflect?

Moreover, Edna was already on the verge of advancing; perhaps this time, it has given her enough power!”

Lynn spoke with confidence… If Miss Edna upgrades after a good sleep, it would be too normal.

Lynn even suspected that she could directly transcend.

Hopefully not.

Lynn quite hoped this secret could be kept for a while longer.

As a half-elf who has wandered the Northern Continent of Ferun for a long time, he has never seen so many great figures all misjudge at once!

The later it’s revealed, the more fun it will be to watch.

With the dual role of being Hill’s friend and Chosen of Miliel, Lynn’s gossipful heart is only getting stronger… After watching this grand show, the accumulated material is definitely enough to make him a legendary bard.

Yaro turned to glance at the leading female mage of Shadow Valley, Jessica River, and only after getting a signal from her did he speak with a hint of surprise: “It’s said that Miss Edna is already a Seventh Circle Mage! Did she advance so quickly?

At level 16… shouldn’t she need some time to study spells?

Then… we really don’t know how long it’ll take!”

Lynn answered very bluntly: “How could that be? It’s just a small matter.

When she set off from the Hidden Forest, she was already a level 15 mage.

An Eighth Ring Spell is not a problem for Edna, who possesses the Azuth Encyclopedia, is it?

She had learned quite a lot before setting off, covering all types of spells.

It’s just that during this training period, Edna doesn’t plan to use external objects.

There are plenty of oddities that allow a mage to cast beyond their current ring, and they’re not exactly rare.”

He said it lightly, but some mages in the back were giving him an ‘are you talking nonsense’ look.

There are indeed oddities that allow one to cast beyond their current ring, for example, the gold and silver dual-colored regular octahedron Ein Stone would do.

But is it something you can get just because you want it?

While there is a price, 20,000 gold coins each.

Many mages have twenty thousand gold, but very few can actually purchase such an Ein Stone.

Even the cheaper pearl white Ein Stone at 5,000 gold coins is owned by very few.

Like the green Ein Stone hovering above Yaro’s head, which can absorb mana, very few can buy it.

Most people carry something like a yellow stone that can help with water walking… although it costs only 2,000 gold, without backing in Toril, few mages can get one.

Ein Stones are things that can only be collected on some celestial bodies in the Outer Realm; without the right contacts, people would not even know where to buy them.

Then many only realized that the Lord of Agleya is not only wealthy but also a well-known alchemist… In the past, in a dispute with Kelben, he almost single-handedly lowered the prices of low-level oddities across all of Toril.

Kelben’s losses were so severe that even these mages who were not involved felt chills upon hearing about it.

Otherwise, Elaströ wouldn’t have signaled Yaro to help Kelben say a few good words… believing that Kelben indeed did some wrong things, but Hill nearly bankrupted the Black Staff Tower.

Logically speaking, it should count as even.

Who knew that Kelben, at the time when others were happily building their homes, would wish someone dead!

Unless one is at death’s door and fighting desperately, who would want to draw from the Deck of Many Things?

And it was slipped into a book, which could accidentally open it!

For such a powerful Lord of Agleya not to directly go and bash him to death, that’s really too magnanimous!

Previously not knowing, I thought he didn’t want to start a war between Mystra and Coron… but now who wouldn’t feel that he really deserves the reputation of being kind and benevolent!

Even if Mystra were resurrected now, she wouldn’t possibly pit herself against those three because of a troublesome Kelben!
