Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1165: Chapter 956: Shaer Goes Fishing

Hill couldn’t help but laugh. Talking about this topic, even Lansendel, who had been pretending to be asleep, perked up and stood.

”Oh dear~ I thought I’d never get a chance to make a grand entrance!” The Sun Peacock strolled leisurely to the side of the silver pool, ”Rose really deserves the blessing of Benshasha!”

Hill widened his eyes in surprise, ”Really?”

”Really!” Lansendel said with a cheeky grin, ”Originally, unless it was a place where Tymora appeared, Benshasha had no interest in showing up.

It was... during the time when the Zholar were retreating from Supreme Forest to Eternity Island, all the families were frantically holding celebrations, but not a single family welcomed the Maiden of Misfortune who loved a spectacle at the opening ceremony.

Benshasha was simply displeased at first, but then Rose’s Wax Melt Demon maid declared that they feared no misfortune and Rose would bring eternal victory to the Zholar.

Hehe... Benshasha’s temper, not rushing to the Spider Magic Net at that moment, was all due to her having a bit of rationality.

So, when that black spider caused trouble on Eternity Island using a manifestation, Benshasha decided to pay a visit.

Actually, it was pretty obvious that time!

Though she has white hair, Benshasha is much more beautiful!

Many Zholar saw her.

However... they might have thought that mesmerizing beauty was a Zholar, so they all kept it a secret from Rose.

After all, if that black spider heard someone was more beautiful than her, she would capture that Zholar and turn them into a Demon Hunting Spider.

Anyone who saw Benshasha wouldn’t betray her.”

”Doesn’t her face look like Tai Ji?” Celene laughed.

”Ah... can you really say something like that?” Lansendel glanced at Celene indifferently, ”As expected, the legends are all lies; the Maiden of the Moon is quite pure!”

Hill held back laughter, turning to observe Shaer quietly waiting under the moonlight.

Behind him, Celene, tilting her head, looked at the Great Peacock, ”Why do I feel like you’re insulting me?”

”I’m wishing for you to remain pure forever!” Lansendel said earnestly.

Luckily, Rose appeared in time... carrying her questions, Celene disappeared into the moonlight.

Rather than figuring out Lansendel’s nonsensical words, she preferred to play with some spider legs.

Hill looked up at the gigantic spider springing from the Neverwinter Forest crack, a bit puzzled, ”She still has Wax Melt Demons to use? Isn’t the Spider Magic Net still not repaired?

Why does she leave the spider net’s defenders in Ferun? Aren’t those Zholar always trying to betray her?

Especially those who are in the web-hanging titled world.”

”Rose wouldn’t leave her eyes out of Ferun even if there weren’t such things at home, especially where there are many Elves as you mentioned, she dares not trust the Zholar, only Wax Melt Demons.” Lansendel said leisurely, ”In recent years, the useless lot on Eternity Island haven’t even bothered to open the doors to kill Zholar; her focus surely is here on you.

Otherwise, why would Bane collaborate with her, knowing she placed most transcendent existences here in Sword Bay?”

Hill didn’t feel a thing, and he spread his hands, ”Probably all in Mulan? That Prince must hate Zholar the most.”

”Hidden in World’s Ridge!

More than Mulan, the elves in your territory are the kind she likes to hunt.

Here, even Shaer’s Chosen can only appear on the surface, how can the Zholar manage?” Lansendel couldn’t help but tease, ”Unless stronger than Gulanba, who can topple your ground?”

Hill could only smile... he took defense seriously.

”Looks like Rose is really in a hurry!” Lansendel stretched his head to look at the large spider engaging Shaer, ”She actually did a Divine Descent on that spider!

Interesting, AO must be delighted, this is his greatest gain from reshuffling the world!”

”Aren’t they opening their private network after the Weave rebuilds?” Hill asked, somewhat puzzled.

”How is that the same?” Lansendel said disgruntled, ”Mystra personally opened her private network in the center of the Weave, that was truly her own.

Thereafter, it only intercepts a segment from the public web... whatever’s said or done, Mystra may not perceive it, but the Weave surely knows.

I don’t mind, if necessary, I can even use the Light of Dawn to briefly relay messages... but for those evil gods, they’d suffer.

Their power blatantly appearing somewhere only proves they want to commit misdeeds!

Tsk tsk, before even working, delivering a challenge first, I’m not sure if they’ll figure a workaround to evade the Weave, hehe~

This one here is the dumbest... Bane, knowing he’d definitely suffer misfortune, simply used his Divine Power early on.

When it comes to Rose, if she doesn’t take action, even AO finds it hard to involve her, after all, most of her hatred is focused on the elves.

Coron is surely crouching up there watching intently! AO certainly would be embarrassed to plot against his descendants in front of him.

As for Rose, after all her scheming, not only did she fail to create trouble for Shaer, but she even lost Villon and Elisui; how could she not be anxious?

Once Mystra returns to her position, it’ll be even harder for her to devour Elisui.

You saw it too, that Dark Maiden would rather use her avatar to protect Villon... haha ~ losing not just one, but both!

How could she stand that?”

Hill watched the spider desperately stretching out its claws and said softly, ”I still don’t think she’s just accepting her fate.

After paying such a high price, she wouldn’t just want to break even.”

Lansendel suddenly chuckled twice: ”You elves always think Rose’s schemes are so powerful.

But actually, Rose always succeeds in her plots because elves prefer to rely on instinct to do things.

Whether good or evil, in fact, they act according to their nature.

Otherwise, given how suppressed the Zholar are, there wouldn’t be so many placing their faith in the Dark Maiden and The Masked Lord.

But her tricks are not very different from some of the intense power struggles among the Royal Nobility in Ferun.

You’ll see... why the Toril Gods fear Shaer the most.

She understands human nature and even divine personalities the most thoroughly.

For us, no matter what happens, if we can’t find the mastermind, blaming her is usually about right.

She simply doesn’t like making enemies of others gods, but once she moves, she never fails... so far, only Celene can confront her by relying on intuition.

Every time she wants to do something, Toril most fears Celene suddenly playing dumb.”

Hill looked silently at Lansendel for a moment... he suddenly seemed to understand why the Sun Peacock, after discovering Celene and Shaer together, was pretending to be mad in that Floating Castle!

He was genuinely wary of these two goddesses working together.

No matter what, Lansendel still hopes for the best for Toril, as this is his home... even though the chaos of Quince is so attractively entertaining.

Hill glanced twice, turning his head: Shaer was still only commanding the countless Moon Blades released by the Darkmoon Magic Bead to fight the giant spider.

Only now she was draped in a cloak woven from the night... the towering black spider was continuously spraying venom.

Toxic from the Abyss might not kill the Lady of the Night, but it could cause her some trouble.

Shaer also had to add some defensive measures against this.

But she seemed a bit weak... Hill observed carefully for a while and discovered that Shaer seemed to slap the armrest of the Seat of Sakoxiel with her hand every few minutes, adding black chains onto the chair.

The stone throne’s dragons were entwined with chains, the black eldritch glow never stopping.

However, Hill slowly recalled... that chair, before Shaer entered the battle, had been sealed with the Primordial Light invoked by Celene in collaboration with Shaer’s Primordial Dark Power.

Even if another Magicplague occurred, the seal on the chair couldn’t fail so quickly.

This chair might have been created by the Sorcerer King Lalock who was indeed powerful, but against Toril’s Origin Power, not even he could prevail.

Hill silently summoned a floating sofa and sat down on it lightly.

”Wonder who’s gonna take the bait.” Lansendel laid his head on the railing, speaking hopefully, ”Rose’s allies, ah, no, not really allies. You could say only a few conniving partners she usually works with; no matter who shows up, they will bring me some fun~”

”Why do I always feel she’s not as strong as Villon?” Hill muttered to himself.

Knowing Shaer is fishing, might as well enjoy the maneuvers before him... but they are truly lackluster.

Shaer still lazily lounged on the Seat of Sakoxiel, her whip swings appearing feeble.

”That’s because Elisui is incredibly beautiful with an excellent figure!” Lansendel hit the nail on the head, ”Although she wields two swords, who wouldn’t be disappointed changing from a graceful beauty into an ugly giant spider.

Look at Shaer’s disdainful expression, tsk tsk, more expressions than she’s shown all this time with you I presume, oh dear, that punch-worthy face~

If Roes continues fighting a while longer, she might be so angry she forgets Celene is hiding nearby!

Right after she stepped out to chop Villon’s head off, who wouldn’t know the Maiden of the Moon is lurking close by!

Roes has no Kind Alignment to call upon, and Celene will surely join in, until that spider is mad enough to summon help, she won’t feel too crazed to holler for allies.”

Hill thought for a long time but could not think of any other Evil God with such noble self-sacrificing emotion... Roes indeed has several children, but all wish to smack her to death, taking advantage of her busy unaware moments to seize more Spider Magic Net territory is what they’d do.
