Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Capítulo 1154: Chapter 946: Lansendel’s Frustration

Shaer, leaning leisurely against the stone throne, said, “Although the Soul Mark of the Lady of Pain has been expelled, Lalock’s still remains.

After all, it was he who created the Divine Artifact. Even for me, it will take some time to completely erode it.

The Dead Moon Magic Orb is rather easy… Since he dared to use the dark side of the moon as the foundation for the Divine Artifact, he must pay the price.

Heh~

Celene has been away from the moon for too long, hasn’t even grasped her own Divinity, and yet anyone dares to play around with the moon.

Did they forget that the shadows within the moonlight have always belonged to me?”

Celene was completely unfazed by the sarcasm in Shaer’s words, laughing cheerfully as she said, “Shaer’s saying that, for at least a year, she won’t be able to do anything.

Although AO’s control over us isn’t that strong, we can only maintain one embodiment of power in Toril.

Any more and the old man will start nagging… He’s really nagging, mumbling on and on endlessly.

So~ unless something unbearable happens, Shaer won’t easily make a move.

If something comes up later, I might have to step in~”

Lansendel silently glanced at the gleeful Maiden of the Moon, then looked at his own wings, confirming his embodiment still existed before speaking discontentedly: “What about me? Can’t you see me?

Such a large Peacock here!”

“You?” Celene said with disdain, “My embodiment disappeared, but I can gather it again in a few days. Can you do that?”

Lansendel spread his wings helplessly: “Though Amanata’s resurrection has taken away some of my power, as long as dawn arrives as usual, I can still gather Divine Power from the day’s first light!

It’s just a bit of a hassle!

If I really want to do something, I’ve never been afraid of any trouble.”

“Speaking of it, why didn’t you stop that guy?” Celene suddenly grew curious, “Even though you’ve put most of your focus on that fascinating world, isn’t your main body still in the Paradise Realm?

You couldn’t possibly be unaware of Amanata’s attempts on the Path of Resurrection.

Elsewhere is fine, but in Kalinsan, your control isn’t weak.

After all, in these years, your followers have built so many Towers of the Dawn in that region to counter the Ancient Night Temple!

Speaking of Toril, in all these events, your followers are most noticeable when countering Shaer’s few world-ending schemes.

Otherwise, who knows what they’ve been up to.”

Lansendel stiffened for a moment before slowly saying, “Hmph~ Dawn Calamity, if I bear half of the blame, credit the other half to Shaer then?

How much has she secretly schemed! The Dawn Temple, thanks to her mess, has had many fewer constructed!

If it weren’t for her, I might still have a little hope of success!

I absolutely will not forgive her!

Hmph! Once the Path of Destiny ends, I will consider her my enemy.

This time, there simply are no other options… If I were to forcibly contend for those two evil Divine Artifacts, Celene, whom would you side with?

If she suddenly asks you for help, would you directly strike against me?”

The Maiden of the Moon remained silent, her smile somewhat embarrassed.

The Great Peacock continued: “Even you yourself aren’t sure, are you? In the past, when your relationship was strained and full of hatred, you suddenly lent Shaer a hand.

All the more now.

Luckily, this time it’s not about protecting the world from Shaer, which means for me, I needn’t give up the fun of watching chaos closely, nor necessarily fight both of you.

Especially a fight I’m likely to lose, I’m not interested in bringing discomfort upon myself.

But still, that’s only if Shaer willingly steps back, I can’t let my loyal followers be seized as sacrifices by her… I actually had prepared myself for a decisive battle with you both!

Tsk~ Didn’t expect she really backed down.

Truly, after living a long life, you see all sorts of things.

The Nether Dead Sea stirs, Abyss withered trees bloom, from today it’s no longer a rare sight eh~”

Celene suddenly laughed softly, making no comment on Lansendel’s words.

On the contrary, with a cold face, Shaer spoke: “Stop spouting nonsense.

Although I indeed targeted you extensively, don’t pin the Dawn Calamity you caused on me.

I wish you would resurrect Tai Ji~

Her first act upon arising would be to battle AO, at that point, on the planet Toril, no life would likely survive, including all of you later-born deities.

If I were to intervene, it would only be to help you conceal it from the other deities… Ha~ if they knew what you were planning, they’d rally together and lock you back in the Paradise Realm, sealing you away in the Hall of Nature.”

The look on Lansendel’s furry face was filled with disbelief: “You think I’ll believe that? How many people were trying to hold me back then, do you think I don’t know?”

Shaer sneered coldly: “You should ask Celene who was holding you back~”

The Maiden of the Moon, half-lying on the crescent chaise, smiled awkwardly: “I thought Shaer seemed pretty supportive of you, so of course, I had to… cause trouble~”

Lansendel truly froze this time.

“It’s not just me…” Celene’s voice wasn’t loud, but it showed no hint of guilt, “Your Elf followers, especially those Princesses and Princes, are too obvious.

They almost shouted to the Sun and Moon that I am your Lord!

Even though other races don’t know what the Elf Empire plans to do, they know that if successful, they declare themselves the eternal rulers of Toril, making it impossible to let you succeed!

To speak of it, the Gnome Pantheon and Dwarven Deity System got closer because they teamed up to hide the materials you wanted!

As for humans… they’d definitely do even more!

I truly never thought, at this point, you’d still believe your failure was because of Shaer?

Back then, aside from the Elven Pantheon who were bystanders, other deities more or less intervened, didn’t they?

Lansendel… have you not thought about it?

There’s an AO above us… well, without the old man, we wouldn’t exist.

But if you truly succeeded… aha~

You and Tai Ji would instantly become Great Divine Power, standing together at the peak of the Toril Universe, with billions of Elves of at least Angel Level behind you… even AO never fantasized so grandly.

Not to mention AO wouldn’t agree, no other deity would want to see you succeed either!

Even without knowing your plans, the few words leaking from the Elves are enough to have all forces jumping in, right?”

Lansendel’s beady eyes seemed to roll back… the Great Peacock in the corner seemed really for the first time to realize why the conclusion of the Dawn Calamity was so miserable.

Shaer glanced at the smug Celene, then snorted coldly: “You really are… easily swayed, Celene. No wonder you’ve been deceived all these years.

Lansendel, why play dumb?

You still haven’t said why you didn’t prevent Amanata’s resurrection.

Don’t you always wish to be the master of the Sun?

With Amanata resurrected, you have no hope at all.

I’m not Celene, so easily distracted by you.”

The Sun Peacock’s golden feathers seemed to become dull suddenly: “Ah… so, why must there be a crafty Evil God sitting beside benevolent deities in a conversation?

How’s a pure person supposed to survive~”

Hill, standing nearby, who always felt something was amiss, couldn’t help but roll his eyes… just as he thought! If Lansendel really believed Shaer was solely responsible for the Dawn Calamity, he wouldn’t be so calm.

Yet some things, even he couldn’t bring himself to say, even if facing the world’s enmity, no one wanted to admit it openly… But Celene helped by candidly voicing his grievances.

Lansendel rested his head beside the fountain, speaking with a hint of resentment: “I had thought about striking.

But what I once thought could assist me in becoming the Sun God unexpectedly became a follower of Amanata.”

Shaer and Celene’s eyes lit up instantly… aha~ there’s an interesting story to hear.

“Rising Sun Heresy.” Lansendel reluctantly spat out the words.

However, the three listeners were quite agile in their reactions, quickly realizing this infamous heretical sect was a seed planted by Lansendel for the day he could become a true Sun God.

Who would have thought, that sect was actually filled with Amanata’s loyal followers… Luckily, Lansendel got tempted to Quince before implementing many of his plans, or else he would have been badly tricked.

“Amanata is something else!” Celene exclaimed, “No one can match his skill in secretly screwing people over.

Not even Cyric; Cyric’s patience isn’t this strong.

I remember this sect, it’s been around for centuries, right?”

Lansendel didn’t want to answer… the secret maneuvers he’d been dealing with for centuries, only to find out in astonishment he’d helped Amanata.

In creating the Rising Sun Heresy, to fit Amanata’s identity, Lansendel had invested quite a few resources, especially those Radiant Stones representing the Sun… only using these stones harvested from the Sun could summon Sunfire.

The flames his followers used were actually more reddish or rose in color, and the gold flames, this Sun God’s adept Divine Arts, were indeed a bit tricky.

He created this sect to utilize their prayers to slowly devour the Sun’s power… but if all these centuries, these followers preferred to praise Amanata in front of the Radiant Stones… Lansendel hardly dared to think, did his assistance make it easier for Amanata to restore his power?

Hill silently glanced at the Sun Peacock… it had collapsed dispiritedly amid Celene’s raucous laughter… but compared to being the chest Amanata burst out from now this bit of social death was nothing, right?

Hill nonchalantly pointed below the castle: “Those Mages, are they from Shadow Valley?”
