Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1163: Chapter 955: The Masked Lord’s Madness

With a muffled groan, Elisui was flipped directly onto the ground.

She nonchalantly flipped over and rose, layers of silver light swirling around her, transforming into numerous daggers to block the countless Moon Blades.

With Villon inside and Elisui outside, the Lady Zholar chuckled twice: ”Ah... I didn’t expect the Lady of the Night, who always avoids battle, to strike directly!

How amusing, it turns out the more schemes there are, the more useless they become.”

It seemed she thought of something, smiling quite happily... perhaps realizing that the seemingly flawless calculations of Rose were all mistaken.

This time, Rose’s scheme initially appeared very perfect... No matter how many Steel Dragons came, Lansendel would never help Shaer fight against the Metallic Dragons of the Kind Alignment.

And Celene, facing Elisui whom she loved so much that she was even willing to share Moonfire with, would definitely hesitate... During the past Suren period, it was fine, but even after fully transitioning back to Celene, she never chose to retract the part of the moon’s authority given to this maiden.

Celene could have done what Shaer did in the past, absorbing the Power of the Silvermoon into herself... but she actually understood giving up earlier than Shaer, so she was the least affected by the divinity.

However... compared to other deities being influenced by their laws, her actions being solely out of her own will, instead made the Maiden of the Moon even more terrifying... most deities can’t willingly jump into a vortex like that.

Then the Lord of Agleya, how could he possibly attack Elisui under the watchful eyes of Coron?

Even if it was recognized that Villon was the impostor, but for Hill who similarly possessed Coron’s bloodline, what difference would there be?

Instead, it would make him even more constrained... carelessly resulting in Coron losing two children at once.

Daring to act for Shaer would mean giving up Coron’s favor... who doesn’t know that Lord stands firm on Ferun Great Land entirely because of Coron!

Even those so-called ’Undead Tribe’ Teraxil Elves exist thanks to Coron’s power.

It would be even better if they turned hostile.

Rose wouldn’t mind taking that lord under her command.

Rose thought it through very thoroughly, and despicably enough, but it declared bankruptcy before even starting... In her judgment, Shaer would choose to have Hydra face Elisui due to Celene’s obstruction, and then engage hastily at dawn with the Steel Dragons flying all around.

Under the sunlight, neither Celene nor Lansendel would actively help Shaer against the Metallic Dragons; otherwise, how would they face their followers? Do they want to be betrayed by all their followers like Amanata?

The Spider Queen in the void laughed with pride... Kind Alignment is the easiest to deal with in this regard; those who care about reputation must pay the price.

Unfortunately, Shaer didn’t plan to follow the big spider’s plan; she indeed doesn’t like direct combat, but this merely reflects her view that unnecessary battles are a waste of time, never meaning that she can’t fight.

All the conspiracies were half declared bankrupt when the Lady of the Night herself, leaning against the broad stone throne, holding a pearl in her left hand and a whip in her right, went to battle.

Hydra might not harm the divine body of Elisui, but dealing with the Dots of Steel Dragons wouldn’t be a problem... and once Shaer deals with Elisui, whether the Metallic Dragons hiding on the side dare to act is all a question.

Facing the directly challenging Shaer, Villon, currently controlling this body, felt somewhat overwhelmed.

Compared to his own body, Elisui’s was actually more suitable for using spell attacks... Though she also wielded a longsword, opportunities for direct confrontation weren’t many; the Moonfire could take down most enemies for her.

Facing these endless Moon Blades, Villon found it a bit difficult to take a step forward.

As long as Shaer used half of the skill she employed against her sister, Elisui, the weakened Moon Goddess, couldn’t withstand it, let alone Villon using his sister’s body.

Without hesitation, Villon executed a graceful side flip, and pieces of shadow flew around her body, transforming the veil on her face into a black velvet half-mask.

Anyway, the opponent already knew the controller of this body was him, so there was no need to maintain the pretense of the Masked Lady.

His current opponent wasn’t the so-called Hydra but directly facing the Lady of the Night... Before coming out, Villon received an order to fight with all his might, so he could only choose to combat with all his strength.

He understood that Rose let him use Elisui’s strength not just because this body belonged to the Kind Alignment... but because Elisui sincerely accepted him as her brother; now, even using his power with this body, it wouldn’t easily shift back to the Evil Faction.

However, dealing with Shaer, his little assassination skills in the darkness wouldn’t be of much use.

Therefore, Villon merely materialized the black velvet half-mask created by Embrace of Darkness... This divine art utilizing his own Holy Emblem could enhance his strength and agility.

Otherwise, Villon let out a faint bitter smile; the twin swords he wielded couldn’t even wound the formidable goddess who hadn’t left her chair.

He couldn’t help but glance back... At that time, being deceived by his eloquent mother, betraying the Father God, angering his sister, and abandoning all glory, did it foreshadow today’s outcome?

Of course, Rose never thought he could defeat Shaer... What the Spider Queen anticipated was to have him, depleted of most of his power in battling Shaer, be consumed by the Primordial Power, and then she would devour his and Elisui’s divinity together.

Villon was well aware that the other Zholar deities... Qiya Wen Shali and Xinze Laina had long been devoured by Rose.

And Xiwentam... once he’s completely dead, that kid should finally know to run, right?

Villon silently focused for a moment on Elisui sleeping within the cocoon of his soul... In truth, he did not regret betraying Coron.

Perhaps because both his parents were too powerful, Villon was always proud... until he saw Coron transformed into a maiden, lying in the arms of that beautiful youth.

If that event slowly transformed his admiration for his father, then finding out Coron was having children with mere mortals drove Villon completely mad.

Sympathy for his biological mother made him overlook many things... At that time, Rose, still known as Aroshi, worried about the instability of her position as God Queen of Elves, thus creating numerous illusions for her children.

The eldest daughter, determined in will, quickly extricated herself from that seemingly warm and harmonious family, realizing that her parents had each had their own lovers for a long time.

After all, Coron had always been of such character from the start... Aroshi willingly became the wife of such a Coron.

Maybe partly out of love, but more so, it was for ambition.

However, Villon and Elisui were different... These two children truly lived in the stories Aroshi wove.

When Villon was deeply shocked by his father’s chaos, Aroshi unhesitatingly wove for him the image of a mother bearing humiliation for the sake of her children.

Therefore, when Rose shifted her divinity from a Guardian God of Craftsmen and the Goddess of Elven Destiny to the Weaver of Fate, hoping to become the Elf King and even attempting to kill Coron, finally realizing the true nature of her family, Elisui tried to stop her, while Villon, utterly convinced by his mother’s words, nearly struck at his own father directly.

After the rebellion failed, he didn’t choose to regret... Watching his mother being turned into a spider and flung into the Bottomless Abyss, Villon admitted his sins outright and followed his mother down.

He trusted his mother more.

However, after that came endless remorse... From a child following behind Rose to becoming the Masked Lord attempting to kill her to become the Chief God of Zholar, Villon’s transformation was undeniably significant.

What Villon never expected was that his soul had been a puppet in his mother’s hands from the very start... If not for Elisui continuously trying to awaken him, the current Masked Lord would likely have long become just another aspect of Rose, losing himself entirely.

No, Villon rationally analyzed himself... Back then, he indeed had his eyes blinded by greed, thinking that such a Coron did not deserve to sit on the throne... and then, in Aroshi’s tear-filled eyes, thought himself, the brave and powerful warrior, to be qualified.

Well~ luckily, it didn’t succeed. Otherwise, he might have ended up surviving alone in the Abyss!

Rose would absolutely not mind eliminating Villon, the one most likely to vie for the throne with her, right after dealing with Coron... Her two daughters would merely disdain the Elven Deity System under Rose’s reign and leave altogether.

Only he, Villon, was both foolish and greedy, soft-eared and always looked down upon by others.

Ha, what did he count for?

Villon vigorously wielded his two swords, striving to maintain that last thread of clear will... He absolutely couldn’t lose his mind completely, he mustn’t forget, Elisui was still there!

Anyway, he was beyond saving... Though Elisui was somewhat naive, somewhat foolish, often spouting idiotic words that made one want to clobber her, it wouldn’t be fair for his little sister to die first!

Villon silently glanced at Agleya City.

There, also resided someone bearing the bloodline of Coron, and had a very good relationship with Shaer.

Even if he wouldn’t help due to his hatred of evil... Villon’s eyes were filled with a frenzy of fire... but that Lord Hill would definitely lend a hand to save Elisui!

So, Shaer! Prepare to meet his desperate assault!

Villon completely ignored the screams of Rose in the soul chains, ”Villon! What are you doing? Holding her off is enough!

You must hold on until dawn!

Don’t go mad! As long as this succeeds, I won’t lay a hand on you again!

Damn it! Stop!”

The tall lady Zholar, wearing a mask, wielded her twin swords into two bright silver halos, charging straight at Shaer in midair, despite the Moon Blades carving numerous bloody streaks on her body.

Well, dying would be best.
