Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1170: Chapter 961: Are Steel Dragons Empty-Headed?

“Boom!” A tremendous explosion accompanied by an exceptionally fierce roar: “Shaer!” clearly reached the Floating Castle.

“Hydra!” Shaer laughed softly, “Go and retrieve the Seat of Sakuxier! That spider is done for.

Ah… There’s a group of Steel Dragons lying on the ground, not sure how many are dead.

Forget it, I won’t bother with these fools, I won’t skin them; just bring back the chair.”

Hill curiously turned his head: “How did it explode?

Even Rose’s incarnation blew up, yet the chair is intact?”

“Primordial Light and Primordial Darkness mixed together.” Celene chuckled, “As long as I don’t compete with Shaer for dominance, isn’t it up to her when it explodes or not?”

“Who are you kidding? Your powers are clearly balanced! Otherwise, how could it turn into a seal?” Lansendel’s bird eyes widened round.

“When Lalock emerges, it’s unbalanced!” Celene said indifferently, “His darkness power surely neutralizes my Power of Light first!

Imagine, after the Seat of Sakuxier got into Rose’s hands, Lalock would definitely strive to reclaim it. Although the artifact is no longer useful to him, who would willingly lose a high-grade artifact for nothing?

The Dead Moon Magic Orb is utterly impossible now; he will certainly try to seize the chair, hehe, Lalock only fears Shaer who controls the Primordial Darkness, he doesn’t care about that spider.

Shaer also wants to save some trouble, considering Lalock’s soul strength is not low.

If she solely relied on sitting on the chair and grinding slowly, it would take years; better to lure and eliminate him in one go!

Too bad, Lalock is no fool. With Shaer sitting on the Seat of Sakuxier, his bit of Soul Power was concealed thoroughly… in the end, he couldn’t hold back.”

Hill nodded knowingly: Shaer actually wanted to achieve two goals with one action.

Too bad, in this place called Toril, greed can never end well, wanting too much always leads to trouble.

Even Shaer, the incarnation of Primordial Darkness, is the same… her plans seemed successful, but they came with a bit of mess.

So now, the Lady of the Night would rather float silently over there than return to face her sister’s greetings… Hill could guess what Celene would ask her sister.

He had no intention of starting a topic… When the two sisters fought, it was already terrifying, and now there was a Great Peacock for sure getting involved!

Lansendel flapped his wings, looking eager to speak… but with Shaer not present, his room to play was limited, he merely spoke with a tone full of pity, “Ah, that group of Steel Dragons should truly thank Rose.

If that black spider hadn’t used Banishing Spell but instead caught them with webs for a bite, that group of Dragons would have been completely wiped out!

Hehehe.

Did Bahamut seek a blessing of fortune for these foolish Dragons?

Tsk tsk, are those Steel Dragons’ heads solid?

Even if Bahamut himself came over, wouldn’t he avoid meddling in the battle between Shaer and Rose?”

In face of criticism from the Lord of Dawn, and the Maiden of the Moon’s unexpected silence, Hill could only smile: Bahamut, knowing there’s a chance to seize an artifact, would go ahead without hesitation, even if facing that Muddy Pond.

To the Platinum Dragon God, as long as money is involved, not to mention Rose, what is Shaer?

It’s just the price to move this Dragon King is a bit higher… usually, fifty thousand gold coins might be enough to invite him to take action.

An artifact with unclear sovereignty… especially when someone would certainly pay a hefty price for it, does it even matter who’s on the other side?

Lansendel might be aware of this point, hence his words are likely meant to divert elsewhere… like why Shaer hasn’t returned, or how the chair should be dealt with in the future.

Celene didn’t fall for it, and Hill certainly wouldn’t either.

He leaned over the railing, noticing: “A lot of people watching! Looks like Edna has recovered quite well.

I’m wondering how she plans to handle those team followers chatting with the Steel Dragons.”

Celene chuckled, “What else can she do? Just send them away!

Especially that clearly peculiar Swordsman.

As for Shaer’s people, Edna might keep them since they’re official team members!

It depends on whether those two Junior Mages are willing to entrust their safety entirely to the Undead Tribe.

If they are unwilling, they might have to send a message home, requesting for proper followers, at least they shouldn’t be inferior to the escorting team of the Undead Tribe~

Thanks to Agleya from the Hill Family, maritime navigation around Sword Bay remains quite safe.

As long as they detour to the Sea of Radiance, they’ll be fine.”

Celene has always had a strong perception of the ocean, after all, she holds the divinity of navigation.

“`

Thus, she really liked Agleya, who made the sea safer.

On the contrary, another statement, though obscure, was full of satire, and Hill smiled helplessly: I guess Edna felt exceptionally strange every second she saw that swordsman.

Lansendel seemed to finally feel a bit puzzled: “Why are you so focused on these junior mages?

Is there something wrong with the retinue they left at Quel Senta?”

However, the thought of the Lord of Dawn shifted towards another direction, deviating from the right track.

Hill was genuinely confused this time… Up until now, why didn’t Lansendel suspect that there was something wrong with Edna? She’s observed several battles with powerful divine power!

But the young girl has nothing but a little fright.

With such a standard and robust fate, why doesn’t he suspect that Edna is Mystra?

AO’s plots have always been numerous, why is Lansendel so firmly convinced that Mystra hasn’t appeared yet?

Although the Tablets of Fate are indeed skilled, Hill still doesn’t believe it can easily affect Lansendel’s thinking.

AO always uses the plots within the rules; the deities who’ll have a problem mostly can’t resist temptation themselves.

When unexpected events occur, even this God Above Gods has to personally step in for a fix.

Otherwise, that Black Eye Mystra who satisfied him wouldn’t have been stabbed to death by Heim.

That one was a wise one who knew, upon officially ascending, to maintain her strength in powerful divine power, utilizing the chosen to share the pressure of the Weave.

Every time AO saw Midnight’s madness, his heart must be filled with regret… Why did he not choose Tom to guard the door that time?

Hill couldn’t help but look at Celene.

Lying lazily on the crescent chair, Celene flashed a smug smile: “What a pity, Edna is a descendant of Azuth.”

In Lansendel’s tone, there was also a hint of regret: “Yes!

If Mystra truly perished, Edna might have a chance to become the new Goddess of Magic!

What a pity, she’s merely soul reincarnation.

Who knows if there are any of her blood relatives left in the world… there should be, right? I remember when she was called Midnight, she was an arcanist with a lineage.

No matter how unworldly she was, within such a short period, she couldn’t have let her mortal bloodline be severed, right?

Alas~ if Midnight recovers later and possesses half of Edna’s capabilities, then perhaps the Weave could barely acknowledge her rule.

Hope she won’t be so foolish… naive, stabilizing the Weave benefits everyone.”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh, then desperately recalled the origins of Midnight… but to no avail.

Yet he still remembered, if not for a timely Edna, Midnight should have reincarnated onto some ill-fated girl tragically dead outside a city… only half-reincarnated, having to desperately entreat her chosen to save her.

In the end, before the chosen arrived, a man full of schemes showed up instead.

Then the people of Toril could only watch an unrepayable favor unfold into a dramatic farce.

This drama also made many realize that being a deity doesn’t necessarily mean having skills, but rather sometimes having damned good luck.

And it made that Grim Reaper Kranvo sever ties with love from then on… he simply couldn’t believe that silly woman tricked into becoming a breeding machine was the calm, strong, and kind-hearted lover in his memory.

Hill suspected Cyric was so timely released, even fully armed with information, personally handled by AO.

Though it could be because the girl who Midnight’s incomplete soul merged with was naturally stupid, this also proved that indeed, Midnight had no blood relatives to entrust her reincarnated self.

And the most awkward part was, she had no trustworthy female chosen to temporarily possess… Previous Mystra also encountered unfortunate incidents but she could just hide in Elaströ’s body.

Hill smiled gently: “Arcanist could also be a master-disciple inheritance.”

Lansendel casually flapped his wings: “But it’s a pity her ties with the chosen aren’t too good, otherwise her chosen would’ve definitely been busy having babies those years.

That’s the best reincarnation method!”

Hill furrowed his brows, suddenly realizing why Laila broke off with Kelben at that time… who else would Midnight trust as her chosen?

At that time, Laila had just given birth to twins, not to mention her pride, she’d never agree to such a thing.

So?

Who did Kelben find to have children?
