Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1046: Chapter 840: The Mercy of Queen Vila

Hill didn’t pay attention to the movements of the Undead Tribe; building a camp was a trivial matter for them.

Instead, another scene facing the distant giant screen captured all his attention… The divine beasts were still observing the movements in Mil Forest from afar, with no intention of stopping them… This was the most abnormal thing.

Ordinary Elemental Giants never gave up… They could simply be reborn from the Elemental Realm if they died, and even if their crystal core shattered, it didn’t matter, they could sleep for tens of thousands of years and come back alive!

Taking life lightly and acting casually was routine for these Elemental Giants… Hill felt that those who had died beneath the Great Wall not long ago were probably fine… But these ones before him were likely already polluted by Eckart.

Hill didn’t have any particular feelings about it; the struggles between elements were actually quite brutal, not to mention the famously sinister Eckart who had been eyeing the Fire God Beasts and Air God Creatures.

The guy once dared to make a move on the Fire Element Grand Lord, so snatching some subordinates from two Elemental Dukes was no big deal for him.

Among Eckart’s subordinates, there were actually quite a few Fire God Beasts and Air God Creatures… Even at his weakest, he was nearly a god-like duke.

There were always rumors in the Elemental Realm that he was a descendant of the two types of divine beasts. Of course, those who dared to say this either ended up dead at Eckart’s hands or were among the Great Monarchs who could always defeat him.

How should one describe Eckart’s status in the Elemental Realm… A combination of Marla’s and Ambori’s disgust, along with strength inferior to theirs, made him a Duke of Smoldering Flames who died countless times.

The only thing Hill was puzzled about was that even if Eckart didn’t know before about Amanata’s plan to resurrect in Kalinsan, he should know by now.

He used to be stuck in his Divine Kingdom, so could it be that he doesn’t even want his Divine Kingdom anymore?

Amanata was not an arrogant goddess like Shaer, who wouldn’t bother to deal with someone she looked down on… Eliminating evil completely was the standard behavior of this Sun God.

The most important thing is that, in Amanata’s eyes, anyone who opposes him is evil… Not to mention, Eckart was originally an evil Elemental Duke.

Dealing with him doesn’t even require the Sun God to find a good reason for himself.

Celene said nonchalantly, “Eckart is extremely greedy and never gives up things already in his hands… In his eyes, these are already corrupted by him anyway. Even if they haven’t entered his Smoke Elemental Plane, they still belong to him.

So what about the Sun God?

Amanata has been dead for so long… Many people have long forgotten why he could become the Main God of Naesreiel… Those proud and cold Great Archmages believed in him, and it definitely wasn’t because the Sun God truly brought warmth.

But Eckart appeared quite late on Toril, and he never met Amanata. For someone as insecurely arrogant as him, legends and stories weren’t worth abandoning things in his hand.

Besides, his speed of resurrection is quite fast… Eckart doesn’t have the ability to condense an avatar, but he has always kept some smoke columns left from himself in his Divine Kingdom, otherwise he wouldn’t be so weak.”

“Hmm?” Shaer asked in confusion, “How do you know?”

“Laila had some involvement with him and saw a bit when taking back the divinity,” Celene said coldly… This was the first time Hill heard her speak with such obvious disgust.

“I thought you didn’t feel anything about her betrayal?” Shaer chuckled softly, “To retrieve her power so thoroughly… Is Laila now barely surviving in her Divine Kingdom?

How interesting… I’m increasingly looking forward to Cyric’s return.”

Without the protection of the mist and illusion, Laila, left only with lies, probably couldn’t even sustain her Divine Kingdom… Cyric, who penetrated everywhere, wouldn’t need to exert much effort to kill her.

Celene said indifferently, “A loan is a loan; if the creditor wants it back, you have to return it.”

Shaer snorted coldly, “Power is what determines whether you are a creditor… Not being strong enough, the best creditor is a dead one.”

Celene remained silent. She didn’t actually want to admit that those whom she trusted back then ended up just wanting her dead… But judging from the current scale of the Silvermoon Temple, it’s basically impossible for the powerful Silvermoon Temple of ancient times to reappear.

The former Silvermoon Electors, who could not only crush down intermediate divine powers like Ambori but also confront some not-so-strong intermediate divine powers head-on, are now no different from the electors of other deities… although they still bestow the power to become stronger, they will never surpass All Gods.

The silver fire Celene used to give to her Electors was probably enough for Mystra to grant to the Northern Seven Sisters plus Kelben… So those ancient Silvermoon Electors were so arrogant.

A meteoric rise always makes people lose the correct recognition of themselves.

Hill quietly looked at the giant screen; the Undead had already built long walls outside Mil Forest… With so many Earth Mages, they were truly adept at construction.

Earth Mages, under the protection of knights, advanced northward along the forest perimeter from both the left and right directions… Clearly intending to enclose the entire large forest.

This is truly a massive project… No wonder Queen Vila was so stingy earlier; she’s obviously planning to have the Undead Tribe construct a 20-meter-high Magic Great Wall.

Vila probably never intended to help the Suldofir people… The wall is clearly useless to the Little Fairies who only plan to stay there for a few months.

It’s clear she only wants to deal with the divine beasts among humans in the fortress. Even if part of the natural cycle Vila just established is destroyed, it won’t result in the annihilation of the entire mountain range at once. Once all the humans are dead, the divine beasts will return to Kalinsan on their own.

The Fire God Beast and the Air God Creature now aim to eliminate each other to solely occupy Kalinsan… However, Kalinsan for them never included the steel net south of Mount Almir.

Hill only realized later why Queen Vila was so indifferent to the matter… Little Fairies do not care about human lives.

The Vila in front of Hill was cute and enthusiastic, but that didn’t mean she was overflowing with sympathy… especially not for humans who significantly harm nature.

Queen Vila saved so much money just to build Mil Forest into a base for Little Fairies in Kalinsan.

“What are those Undead Mages doing?” Celene was full of confusion at the scene before her eyes. “Are they enchanting defensive magic on the wall?

Does Queen Vila plan to surround the entire Mil Forest with a Magic Wall?

How much would that cost!

Where does that Little Flower Fairy get so much money? Hill, did you give it?”

Hill tilted his head and thought for a moment, then bluntly quoted the wages of the Undead Tribe… As long as Vila provided the enchanting materials, the payment for painting the Magic Array by the Undead Tribe was only double the cost of constructing the Earth Great Wall.

But even when sketching the magnified Magic Array, many Mages couldn’t even earn this double wage… Hill could certainly see this, after all, those Mages were competing with Swordsmen and other Battle Professionals to chop wood.

Mil Forest was full of dead giant trees from burning flames and thin air… Little Fairies were flying midair, directing the Undead Tribe with heavy expressions to clear these trees that couldn’t hold on until they were rescued.

As for the low shrubs and flowers, except for the central area, the rest had long been reduced to ashes.

Even if the divine beasts didn’t plan to destroy the entire forest, their occasional patrols on the outskirts were enough to gradually bring about the forest’s demise.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ was currently leading some of the more communicative Undead to welcome those hiding deep within Mil Forest and those who fled with the army from Kalinsan.

Although his attitude was friendly, his approach was quite firm… Almost everyone was thoroughly questioned about their name, origin, and especially profession… Ordinary people couldn’t possibly evade the searches of the divine beasts and escape into Mil Forest.

Additionally, after Kalinsan was occupied by divine beasts for a year, nearly all the stronger animals took over the deepest parts of Mil Forest… Humans could only stay in the middle of the forest along with some fairly capable herbivores.

Although it was slightly safer than the outer circle… the carnivores that occasionally came out to hunt made these humans live in constant fear.

Of course, Kalinsan had more powerful High-level Professionals who weren’t afraid of these animals, but they either left Kalinsan directly or went to Manshaka.

The last Royal Family of Kalinsan was still there… Whether the Amanata Believers intended to turn them into puppets or not, for many Kalinsanians, a king is a king.

The highest level of humans in Mil Forest was only level 8, and they all showed utmost obedience when facing the Undead Tribe.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ took a stack of registered documents, checked each of them again with the Kalinsanians, and finally had them sign to confirm.

Some Kalinsanians hesitated, their eyes turned quickly before altering some of their previous statements… ‘Snow Cloud Peak’ calmly tore up that sheet of paper and used magic to rewrite a new one… This time, the Kalinsanians saw the Holy Emblem appear when the paper was formed: Dawn, Father of Elves, Tyr, and a silver Scales they didn’t recognize.

Then a dozen more people came forward to change their statements.

‘Snow Cloud Peak’ raised his eyebrows and sneered a few times: “There’s only one chance to amend… Queen Vila’s mercy goes no further.”

By the time he completed the registration, nearly everyone had changed their statements… Hill couldn’t help but laugh; the ledger ‘Snow Old Dog’ used earlier was just an ordinary notebook sold for one silver coin in Toril.

Then those who signed were led by the Undead Tribe into an Alchemy Hut, one that was very familiar to Hill, specifically for refugee accommodation… it had no other function but to contain a legendary painting inside.

The Undead Tribe might suspect that among these people were divine beast spies, which was why they were so cautious… After all, there wouldn’t be few trying to trade human secrets for their own eternal life.

But Hill suspected they might soon encounter spies from various major factions in Toril.
