Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1031: Chapter 825: Divine Beasts Attacking the Great Wall

Vivian Paxia looked heavily at the Great Wall that had just risen from the ground, his heart full of hatred for the Amanata followers... If it weren’t for them controlling the Great Pasha’s descendants, not only refusing to send them to the safer Amruwen Fortress, but also using those Little Princes as symbols of resistance in the dangerous Manshaka, he wouldn’t be so anxious to invite the Teraxil Elves to Suldofir!

Manshaka is the first target of the Divine Creatures’ attack, after all, even if Kalinsan still has resistance forces, it’s at most a small fortress with 10 or 20 thousand inhabitants.

And now in Manshaka, it’s estimated that there are already hundreds of thousands hiding inside... Vivian Paxia found it hard to believe that those Amanata followers could resist Divine Beasts with a minimum of level 20... It’s not like before when Mages could cast spells at any time, and Deities could descend instantly.

But now... Vivian Paxia could only hope that the followers of these Little Fairies truly have no interest in Kalinsan... However, elves have always been relatively committed to their promises, so there shouldn’t be any issues.

Even though he kept comforting himself, Vivian Paxia was still worried... The Mages and Scholars in his fortress were not on the same page with him in this aspect. They felt that since Vivian Paxia chose to become an independent lord, the Teraxil Elves couldn’t possibly have any schemes against such a small Suldofir, why bother with what Kalinsan would become?

Even if the Teraxil Elves really wanted to occupy Kalinsan, it wouldn’t be a bad thing! At least Amanata’s resurrection plan would directly fail... At this point, the experienced Toril people can certainly judge what’s really happening.

Magic professionals have never hidden their hostility towards Amanata... Especially those scholar-type mages interested in ancient history, whenever they see how the past Weave lightly bound mages, they feel immense resentment seeing the current reality.

The Great Archmage who wanted to become the God Above Gods is dead beyond revival, leaving these mages with hatred solely towards Amanata... In contrast, the hatred towards those Great Archmagi from Shadow City isn’t as deep, probably because the price paid by them wasn’t insignificant.

If Vivian Paxia is merely remorseful, then the Divine Creatures frantically resisting on the other side of the Aramil Mountains are plunged into fury from the backstabbing by humans.

In the minds of these Elemental Giants still living in memories from ten thousand years ago, the humans on the other side of the mountains should have surrendered long ago... Just like those humans thrown into the mines now.

Even though the Undead Tribe had been in Suldofir for days, the enemies in the minds of these Divine Creatures were only the opponents, with no interest in observing the battle on the other side of the mountains.

Even though there wasn’t much news about the raging Fire God Beasts in Suldofir, the inherently arrogant Elemental Giants didn’t think they were any danger... Kalinsan simply had no strong figures capable of confronting them!

They didn’t regard the human resistors in Manshaka highly at all... As long as Fire God Beast Mannan and Air Divine Beast Karin settled the score, the fate of that city was only destruction!

As for Amanata... neither living nor dead Deities frightened the Elemental Giants, who cared about him!

However, no matter the disregard for humans or deep-seated hostility towards another kind of Divine Creature, they had to realize there were new enemies... They could have their noses in the air but weren’t blind.

The day the Great Wall on the Aramil Mountains was completed, the two types of Divine Creatures tacitly ceased fighting... Although messengers were sent to notify Mannan and Karin still brawling in the Karin Desert, these arrogant Divine Beasts didn’t plan to wait there for their king’s reply but instead issued a summoning signal, prepared to rush the city wall first.

Even though the city wall was quite high, it wasn’t to the extent of making the large-sized Divine Beasts dare not fight.

Their arrival made the Undead Tribe engaged in construction tasks delighted... Someone came to test their skills right after the Great Wall was built!

Previously, when they built city walls, they simultaneously engraved the Defensive Magic Array... But the Suldofir people couldn’t afford so much money... The negotiation expert from the Undead Tribe had barely begun when the panicked Vivian Paxia rejected it outright!

To the Toril people, Defensive Magic Arrays weren’t supposed to be placed outside the King’s Palace, right? Applying it to the entire Great Wall... The Teraxil Elves were too ruthless!

Even if they had the capability to do so, Vivian Paxia, being a lord of such a small place, couldn’t afford it! Not even talking about the labor costs, he couldn’t afford the materials for the Array... Just hiring them to build the Great Wall had already emptied the public treasury, and he even dug into his own private funds.

If he had that kind of financial power, he wouldn’t have used the Pasha’s exclusive Defensive Shield... That thing was draining his life force.

Vivian Paxia hadn’t even listened to the Undead Tribe’s offer... Even if the elves gave him a fifty-percent discount, he couldn’t do it!

After returning, he continued discussing with his aides whether the famously wealthy Lord of Agleya really added Defensive Magic Arrays to Agleya’s city walls... No wonder the city had survived so many wars unscathed.

Such enviable wealth!

Hill probably never imagined that in his several towns, there would be very few betrayals, and even instances of corruption were rare. It was not because his management was better, nor because he provided high benefits... No matter how strict the laws, they cannot prevent corruption and betrayal, and no how high the benefits, they cannot curb human greed... But having wealth and power can solve most problems, especially in Toril, where gold is extremely useful.

As the capital of Hill’s Domain, Agleya has a Puzzle Lock and a powerful Defensive Magic Array. Although these Toril people were shocked, they could understand... But the fact that the nearly autonomous Luskan was also engraved with arrays in every corner terrified these people.

In Toril, ”money makes the devil turn millstones” is not just a saying... As long as Hill is willing to spend, it would be easy to have a Duke of Demons personally grind grain.

Not to mention chasing down a traitor and grinding his soul to dust as well!

Toril people never judge a person’s disposition by their faction. Although they usually appear very mild, Hill’s vindictiveness is enough to make most people behave... And for those few who secretly try to stir up trouble, with the capabilities of Lynn and Laila, it’s not easy to cause any waves.

That’s why Hill feels his domain is stable everywhere... Although he thinks the Toril people fear the omnipresent Undead Tribe, in reality, they fear the super-wealthy Hill even more.

Because they are very clear, if it takes a huge cost to deal with a few insignificant defectors, most lords would reluctantly give up, as they still have to live on... But if for a lord, it was just a drop in the ocean, eradicating evil to the fullest would be their choice, as most understand the concept of ”killing the chicken to scare the monkey.”

The Undead Tribe doesn’t care about the sour feelings Toril people have when looking at The Great Wall; they are truly quite happy.

Speaking of which, after so many battles, this is their first time relying solely on a stone Great Wall to resist the enemy!

The Undead Tribe are raring to go, standing within their defensive zones with excited expressions: they are eager to know what level of damage this ordinary city wall can withstand... and if repairing while fighting, how to do so without affecting their own combat.

If it’s not too difficult, they can build walls wherever they go in the future... In that case, even if another Worm Mage comes, there’s nothing to fear!

The divine beasts attacking from two directions up Alamir Mountain didn’t understand why the Undead Tribe waited until their forward troops reached The Great Wall before starting to unleash endless blizzards... Anyway, leading the charge are those who abandoned their human identity to seek refuge.

if Elemental Giants are at Level 20 at birth, and they grow stronger over time, these Magicians who chose to abandon their human identity can only reach Level 23 at most... For humans, already extremely powerful, but in the world of divine beasts, they are just the lowest existence.

Divine beasts’ thinking has always been simple... When two tigers fight, the one that wins becomes the boss.

So they seem chaotic and disordered, but will not disobey stronger divine beasts... and when they win next time, they will make the other listen to them.

So even after becoming divine beasts, compared to those mighty divine beasts that ravaged Kalinsan tens of thousands of years ago, these Magicians who chose power eventually have to become the vanguard to test the enemy’s firepower.

However, these people were once the high-level nobility of Kalinsan... They were the ones to offer others as cannon fodder.

It is precisely because of this subtle difference that the Fire God Beasts rampaging in Suldofir take their leisurely time to torment that human fortress; after all, it’s better than going back to daily brawls with the Air God Creatures!

The key is, those Air God Creatures sent to fight them were old friends... When they saw each other, they deeply understood why they always found the other annoying, they were natural born enemies!

However, it was due to their habitual slacking that the divine beast army on Mil Plains had no idea those fellows had already become resources in the Undead Tribe’s pocket.

Hill found that the Undead Tribe was urgently changing the defense zone, they had to send those Fire Mages to the forefront of the Air God Creatures... The simplest way to deal with Air God Creatures is with fire, so although now there are mostly Ice Series, followed by Earth, there are still quite a few Fire Element Mages.

If one chooses the Ice and Snow System, as long as the freezing is fast, it can cause considerable damage to those Air God Creatures, and also counter the Fire God Beasts. Most don’t want to just watch when encountering Fire God Beasts, providing Knights with Fireproof Barriers... although it can’t block the Fire God Beasts’ punches, it can stop the fire caused by them.
