Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1020: Chapter 814: The City Lord’s Guests Are a Bit Fierce

Vila is a very clever little fairy, she knows that the Undead Tribe will definitely be interested in the upcoming Summer Solstice Festival... she’s not worried about the little fairies having problems because they’re being watched.

No matter what kind of little fairy it is... except for the House Brown Sprites, those little fellows who get nervous even being watched by other little fairies wouldn’t perform anyway... they don’t care about the number of spectators, as long as Vila swears in the name of the convener she can ensure their safety, the little fairies are actually quite willing to perform under the ’grown-ups’ gaze.

Attracting attention is their nature.

But according to the little fairy tradition, the Four Seasons Festival can only be held in the clearings deep in the forest... and there are too many Undead People, Green Forest definitely can’t accommodate them.

She can change some boring orders issued during the Titania’s reign, but the forest is the birthplace of the little fairies, a home that the Fairy Queens have never altered across generations, Vila knows very well she absolutely can’t make any reforms regarding the location... the little fairies won’t acknowledge that as a real Summer Solstice Festival.

Fortunately the Temporal Artifact is quite reasonable, Vila thought gleefully, she can even auction tickets!

It’s said at least tens of thousands of Gold Coins can be auctioned!

Vila doesn’t quite understand, the Temporal Artifact clearly said it would broadcast it live to everyone on their big screen, why would anyone pay a high price to see it on-site, but she’s very happy to receive this money.

She originally thought she’d have to sell all the nectar and gemstones she accumulated over tens of thousands of years... as well as some star treasures Oberon gave her before he fell asleep, Vila knows there are countless people in Toril who would come with Gold Coins to buy these good things that can increase Life Force.

But Vila has always hesitated... gemstones are sold as they’re sold, having seen the contents of Hill’s warehouse, Vila is now very knowledgeable and doesn’t think those things are worth keeping at all.

Technically nectar doesn’t matter either, although those brewed for a longer time can increase affinity with Magic, it’s actually of no use to Vila... but she also asked Hill when exchanging, for a Legendary Mage already very close to Elemental Power, the affinity brought by this nectar doesn’t mean much anymore.

She’s really a bit embarrassed again letting Hill help her wrap up... but Vila doesn’t want to sell to others.

The nectar of the Little Flower Fairy contains the emotion and Mana of the brewer, truly a very private thing.

But now there’s ticket money... moreover, the Temporal Artifact also gave her a sum... called broadcast money, right? A full 100,000!

Vila is now a wealthy queen! The little fairies puffed out their little chests, thinking complacently, that scatterbrained Beta Tasding still has money!

The Mercury Dragon since coming to Agleya, due to its overly lively nature and exceptionally strong curiosity, offended many people... especially the little fairies... even the fairly brave Fairy Warriors, upon waking up in the morning and seeing a huge dragon eye staring at them outside, would be chilled with cold sweat.

Not to mention the Little Flower Fairy, they have another reason for outright anger... Tasding is a male!

Although these matters haven’t reached Hill, Lynn directly suppressed Tasding... for the Mercury Dragon, curiosity is certainly not as important as the sparkling Small Gold Coins... Lynn’s threat of deducting money is enough to keep him obediently at home.

But the little fairies are still very angry, though the Pixies teamed up to make Tasding lost for a few days, that couldn’t soothe their frightened hearts.

Since then, Tasding has ranked at the bottom of the little fairies’ curse disdain chain... the Sorrowful and Angry Fairy doesn’t count, that’s an enemy... these little fairies used to love cursing the Gnomes the most.

However, broad-minded... not caring what these little fairies not even as big as his fingernail do... Tasding, as long as it doesn’t affect him making money, he can even stand right next to these little fairies spouting nonsense and turn a deaf ear.

Having despised the annoying Mercury Dragon a few more times, Vila flew over her chosen woodland, satisfied to look at this natural clearing surrounded by tall oak trees.

Compared to the white wax trees favored by the Joyous Court, Vila feels in Agleya, almost considered an elf base, oak trees are more suitable... moreover, the little fairies look up to see vines bearing blue, pink, and purple flowers hanging from the tall trees, thinking triumphantly, Titania can’t make so many flowering High-level vines willing to be their streamers!

The same tricolor symbol representing the Fairy Court, the Joyous Court can only use spider silk woven streamers dyed like this... but here with Hill, any plant in Toril can be easily obtained.

The little stream on the ground was opened up for her by Hill, stretching from the small lake in front of the mountains... Inside, there were many large, transparent white fish swimming and devouring the flower petals floating in the air.

The path formed by water waves extended all the way to the throne, decorated with flowers adorned with purple crystal, tiger’s-eye stone, and yellow jade, with every detail echoing luxury.

Vila gazed at the throne already set on the high platform, touching the crown atop her head... At present, she could only choose to sit on a throne shaped like an ice dragon carved from crystal, but one day, she will use her divine power to condense a true Queen’s Throne!

The last step on either side of the stream now was a series of statues of Vila in various poses... The pure gold sculptures adorned with gemstones best demonstrated the wealth and beauty of the current ruler, and every queen must exhibit more dazzling brilliance than her predecessor, especially Vila, she must outperform Titania in every festival.

Otherwise, even if the Little Fairies attended her Summer Solstice Festival, the only thing exchanged would be merciless ridicule towards Vila... Being impoverished is not qualified enough to become a queen.

Vila gently lowered her head and said to Windmill Jasmine carrying her, ”Sister Jasmine, let’s go to the throne! I’ve troubled you to protect me during this period.”

Vila knew that among the Little Fairies coming to Agleya for the Summer Solstice Festival, there were certainly some harboring intentions to kill her... On the contrary, the Court of Sorrow and Rage wouldn’t make a move at this time. They would rather see Vila split the Joyous Court in half!

Just the thought of it might even bring a smile to the perpetually cold Queen of Sorrow and Rage.

Vila was clear in her heart, her only concern was Titania’s loyal followers... The animosity of the Joyous Court’s queen towards her was never a secret, but for some Little Fairies who believed the queen’s status should remain unshakable, Vila’s rebellion was considered a sin.

Not to mention, she took Oberon away, leaving the Little Fairy Queen devastated by lost love, crying every day... To be honest, when Vila first heard this, she almost laughed off a few teeth... Oberon had only the three of them as children, while Titania had hundreds, the Inner Court of the Joyous Court nobles was filled by her offspring.

Otherwise, the Little Fairies would not prefer staying in the Outer Court even though only the Inner Court matched their status... No one wanted to endure the cold stares of Titania’s many illegitimate children.

So, even though her two siblings were not interested in protecting her, they also didn’t think Oberon leaving Titania was a mistake.

Windmill Jasmine carried the contemplative Vila to the ice dragon throne; she carefully moved and placed several pink flowers beside the small throne... Her flowers might not be that large, but the Little Fairy’s throne was smaller.

Windmill Jasmine’s flowers spun gently in the breeze like tiny pink windmills, she stretched and folded herself to make the cold throne appear exceptionally gentle.

Perhaps because Vila particularly liked her pink-white flowers, Windmill Jasmine leaned towards liking her a bit more than the other two vines, willing to help her with this... But she felt Vila was overthinking it; the Green Forest was also within Hill’s puzzle lock range.

Any Little Fairy stupid enough to attack Vila here probably wouldn’t even be able to draw a weapon.

But it doesn’t matter... Optimistically thought Windmill Jasmine, she just found a good spot to listen to music... The Little Fairies always called themselves the best artists, even if their words always needed a discount to be listened to. Nonetheless, it counts as melodious, right?

When Toril’s longest day of daylight each year arrives, Hill merely watched from the rooftop garden as the festival unfolds... Fran and Lynn chose to go to the Alchemy Hall to watch, and many Agleya citizens went over... The temporal artifact placed a giant screen in the small plaza, so they didn’t have to listen to the noise made by the Undead Tribe.

In fact, although most Agleya citizens had dealings with the Undead Tribe, even selling many things to these otherworldly elves, they were reluctant to enter the Alchemy Hall... It is under the control of the divine artifact; should the other party turn hostile, they wouldn’t even get a chance to struggle.

The sense of crisis inherent in Toril people runs deep... Either those with poor nerves are dead, or they’re genuine elites, the kind that can return alive after falling into countless traps, slaughtered companions all gone... Toril people admire such strong individuals, but encountering them, they absolutely keep a distance.

However, Lynn and the Elven City Guards regularly moved in and out, coupled with curiosity about the Little Fairies’ Summer Solstice Festival... Only the most capable artists of Toril could be invited to the Fairies’ Four Seasons Festival.

Artists who are invited almost always achieve instant fame, not even murderous villains would lay a hand on them.

Most Toril people imagine the fairies to be extremely beautiful and elegant creatures... Although Agleya people have become aware that these beings retain beauty but lack elegance, they are still interested in the fairy festival representing the pinnacle of art.

As for Hill here, even with giant screens, no one chose to come... The divine power surges occurring frequently on the Floating Castle indicated to the Agleya citizens that their city lord’s guests were quite fierce.
