Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1014: Chapter 808: An Unexpected Alliance

”Is he strong?” The proto-serpent lizard shifted uneasily, its slender tail with purple radiance once again sending the black widow spider that tried to flee when it was distracted flying.

”Very strong, admired by all while alive, and serving as a gatekeeper for the Grim Reaper after death.” ’Yunfeng’ tilted his head in thought before he solemnly answered.

Although he didn’t know what the serpent lizard was thinking, he had no intention of lying... ’Yunfeng’ understood a bit about the noble system of this world. Serving as a gatekeeper for the strong was not a position of humiliation but a symbol of trust.

The twelve heads of the serpent lizard howled loudly towards the sky, then lowered and spewed a blaze at the black spider... The blue-violet flames proved its excitement... Previously, the flames it spewed were all blue-green.

”I! From now on will be called Hydra! Haha~ I have a name now~” The roar from the twelve heads was earth-shattering, even causing the giant curtain to shake... It seemed the volcanic rock holding the camera equipment was shaking from the sound.

A hand suddenly appeared on the giant curtain... The cameraman noticed something was amiss and rushed forward, relocating the filming equipment... This time he chose a spot that allowed a clearer view of the half-charred giant spider.

The spider’s wailing did not evoke sympathy from anyone... Even though it sounded like the lament of a young woman.

The Undead Tribe doesn’t listen to the sound, only looking at the appearance, and regardless of how beautiful the face is, it doesn’t stop them from eliminating the well-experienced red-named monster.

Hill initially found it strange why the Wax Melt Demon didn’t transform.

Whether to arouse some special desires... Hmm, no... the sympathy of the opponents... Once Hydra spoke, anyone familiar with such magical creatures should realize it was definitely a Dragon Beast, yet it didn’t use its more powerful Wax Melt Demon form in battle.

Being burned to this extent without changing was likely the price necessary to seal Vikna’s severed claw.

Hill was puzzled as to what Rose intended by going after Vikna’s Magic Eye Palm, as a Spider Goddess, she didn’t have the Divine Arts authority over the undead side.

Unless she hadn’t given up on tearing off a piece from Shaer... Undoubtably, secrecy is one of the most important divine roles of Shaer.

Hmm... Hill really admired Rose’s perseverance... To deal with Shaer, one can only act on Toril... In Toril to deal with Toril’s embodiment of Primordial Power?

Rose’s plan to stir up trouble was halted more than ever, even having her Spider Magic Net partially seized to patch the holes Mask made in the Shadow Realm.

Unless Rose could lure the home-loving Goddess of the Night out of Toril, wanting to deal with her was as difficult as dealing with the World Will of Toril directly.

But Shaer could coldly watch the devils and demons act in places like Gerns for thousands of years without uttering a word.

And she could retract to Toril at any moment with her Divine Power incarnation.

Cautiousness is nearly engraved in Shaer’s bones... She provocates others to act for her no matter what... Of course, if hitting Celene were an option, Shaer wouldn’t mind using her whip.

Suddenly startled, Hill turned to silently gaze behind him... A beam of moonlight slowly re-emerged in the pool.

Touching his forehead to confirm no cold sweat, Hill couldn’t help but glance at the last big tree... He somewhat understood why Shaer chose that jacaranda tree... The branches were full of blooms, purple flowers blossomed radiantly.

Moreover, the flower resembles cherry blossoms, always having petals drifting with the wind, clustered on the ground, with a kind of blurry oil painting color... Hill didn’t have the Life Golem clean up these fallen flowers.

Thus, Shaer really had a fondness for purple.

But even if Shaer had come, as long as she remained silent, Hill wouldn’t discover it.

”Hill...” Seeing Hill had noticed her, Celene whispered, ”May I borrow your painting for a moment?”

Hill blinked and immediately understood she was referring to the painting itself: ”Of course, my pleasure.”

Hill pondered; Celene’s silverfire had a well-known feature, able to locate objects across the Ferun Great Land without time or space restraints, this was only a bestowed ability for others to use.

For her, casting spells through objects should be a cinch.

Hill looked up at the sky and brought the painting out of the pendant: As soon as it left his hand, the huge painting slowly floated... This was Hill’s territory, within Hill’s Puzzle Lock, his will was an order.

He wanted the painting to float, and the Puzzle Lock would naturally lift it gently.

Twilight slowly retreated, and night descended gradually.

Bright moonlight softly draped over the courtyard, Celene gently said, ”Shaer, it’s time for your Hydra to leave. I give you only one minute.”

Though there was no movement in the courtyard, the giant serpent lizard strutting on the screen chose to retreat almost instantly, winding through a crack and disappearing... Of course, before leaving, it didn’t forget to whip the spider once more... Even though it was a chosen, it was limited to releasing the Whip of Shaer only three times per day.

His sudden departure left the undead who was chatting with him cheerfully dumbfounded for a while, chit-chatting incessantly... From the almost silenced sound, one could surmise they were not only talking about this Hydra but also Shaer... William very decisively censored words that might lead to misunderstanding.

Including those generalizing Hydra’s background, they were also cut off... William knew Shaer well, the Goddess of the Night didn’t want any of her affairs to become gossip for others.

The silvery moonlight in the courtyard became brighter and brighter, while the milky moonlight on the water pool softly danced, directly embracing Hill’s painting... The silver moon in the sky suddenly descended, a milky, luminous, silk-like gentle phantom liquid silently burned on top of the painting.

In surprised cries from the Undead Tribe emanating from the giant screen... Since turning the tray into Dilinca’s Divine Artifact bag, the painting being held by some unfortunate Fire Element Mage suddenly had silver fire appear.

The Fire Element Mage almost dropped it out of fright... But eventually held onto the edge gallantly, realizing the flame had no harmful intent.

He abruptly looked up and asked, ”What tricks is Hill up to now? Isn’t he the only one who can modify this thing? William lacks the skill!”

But no one could answer him, the Undead Tribe couldn’t help but gather around, the silver rays circling the painting, the unlucky bag of Dilinca already half-dead and moaning now yelled again... Silverfire could harm the soul.

The flame didn’t last long, perhaps 30 seconds?

Then the silverfire leaped down, dashing towards the black widow spider that was trying to escape by sticking onto a strand of web... She keenly sensed something amiss, but lacked the strength to flee.

Three whippings of Whip of Shaer would be unbearable even for the Archbishop of the God of Suffering.

Then she could only roar in anger as the silverfire engulfed her... In the blazing silver flames, the Wax Melt Demon finally gave up struggling and chose to return to her original form... She knew escape was impossible now, so she handed control to the Vikna’s Claw within her body.

Yet her struggles were utterly futile... A deep black beam swept past, even transformed into Wax Melt Demon, and even with Vikna’s Claw guiding her actions, their combined effort couldn’t withstand Shaer’s Dark Beam... The spell’s damage was strong, but its strongest aspect was its immobilizing ability.
