Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1039: Chapter 833: ”Heh Heh” Is the Best Answer

Even though Hill didn’t know what had happened, he understood that Coron must have given his consent, and that the Toril Gods surely had no objections.

So that world likely had some hidden secrets yet to be uncovered...and William was currently working on digging them up.

As for why the Toril Gods didn’t do the digging themselves...Hill was not even slightly surprised. With relationships complex as theirs, it couldn’t possibly be that any deities not of their own would be allowed to investigate.

Stories that would bring shame to all the Gods just by hearing them... Even though so many Priests and Holy Knights had gone, Toril hadn’t heard a whisper, only proving that these related deities had consciously decided to cover up the matter.

They should all be thankful that Celene and Shaer didn’t care about affairs of other universes... Otherwise, had the Priest of the Maiden of the Moon also gone to Felunryel, the whole of Toril would likely have drowned in gossip by now.

On the day before the Equinox harvest ceremony, the Undead Tribe finally completed their competition: One thousand victorious champions returned, carrying themselves with pride, and many more came back dissatisfied, believing they had simply been unlucky.

Hill always thought the reason this game entertained everyone so endlessly was due to the poison circle providing a convenient excuse for everyone’s failures...luck forever being the best scapegoat... But honestly, the poison circle merely sped up the pace of combat and didn’t enhance anyone’s combat sense.

Unless your luck was catastrophically bad, dropping you within the poison circle and barely escaping only to face a group of teaming masters...otherwise getting killed right as you enter is quite rare.

So seeing those seven dissatisfied, eight disgruntled Undead Tribe members, Hill understood that William had found a perfect pastime for the bored Undead Tribe... As long as this instance was open, more people would be drawn to gamble their luck.

After pondering a while, Hill thought William’s current goal might just be ensuring there’s always activity in the central mountains of Felunryel... The Chromatic Dragon Queen was surely still keeping an eye there, the Ancient Red Dragon definitely wouldn’t return to die... So William’s aim must be at others.

Though what William was searching for, it wasn’t clear just yet, there’d come a day when things would be settled... Just wait patiently... Hill smiled, he had plenty of time.

If it was for Teraxil, if necessary, William would surely seek his help.

Vila, who wasn’t too concerned with the Undead Tribe’s affairs, happily commenced her first Equinox harvest ceremony upon receiving the list: In the Queen’s Hall, long tables woven from twisted Cloud Berry branches lined up... Though the Cloud Berries appeared to be placed on the tabletops, reaching for them revealed they still grew on the branches.

Of course, the long tables were also laden with abundant delicacies and wine... The Equinox harvest ceremony always began with a generous feast, fairies would share these tasty foods with their guests while raising their glasses in gratitude for nature’s bounty over the past year.

A troupe of Little Fairies with various instruments sat on a small elevated platform to the left and behind where the Queen was... ’Young Master’ held his baton standing at the forefront... His expression was solemn, waving his arm vigorously, initiating this Toril symphony concert.

Hill soon noticed moonlight in the pool again shimmering gently, while shadows beneath the trees once more twined into feminine silhouettes.

When things turn aggressive, the two Goddesses might not come, but for performances, they certainly attend each show... yet Celene’s alright, while Shaer’s originally a stunning beauty adept at singing and dancing alluringly, her Dark Night dance being indescribably beautiful.

Though Celene was the elder, she aligned more as the traditional angel type... Brimming with kindness, her singing also hauntingly ethereal, albeit a bit flat.

Hill listened carefully to the concert... ’Young Master’ and the Little Fairies’ efforts hadn’t gone in vain, even if it was still Toril’s epic music, it was transformed into multi-part ensemble, the arrangement carrying unique splendor... It bore the grandeur and unfettered pride talents present in a flourishing era possess.

The last time Toril featured such majestic music was during the era of elven domination over the continent... Yet it carried none of the refined elegance of the Elven Court music... The charm of serenades and waltzes contrasted the distinctive allure within marches and symphonies.

Celene and Shaer listened captivated.

Upon the performance’s conclusion, Shaer uncharacteristically made a request: ”Hill, I want the sheet music for these pieces.”

Hill replied with a smile: ”No problem, I’ll get them right away.”

”Me too!” Celene said unwilling to be outdone... She had interest too, but hadn’t thought she could ask Hill, trying hard to memorize... Shaer is always so sharp!

Hill without any hesitation said: ”Of course, not a problem.”

Shaer suddenly giggled softly: ”Hehehe~ When will you sing anything other than Moonlight Tune?”

Hill paused for a moment... He had heard Celene only liked one type of song under the moonlight... When her priestess conducted the Second Moon Summoning Ritual, accompanied by the serene harp melody, they rose in a trance, spiraling around the moon, during which they could have a private dialogue with Celene through spiritual visions.

Silvermoon Priestesses said this was Celene’s favorite song, and the Maiden of the Moon’s cathedral always resonated with the Moonlight Tune.

So Celene, wouldn’t sing any other songs?

How is that possible?

However, Celene remained silent, with no intention of responding to Shaer... This could only prove that she was guilty, and Shaer had very powerful evidence in her hand to ensure Celene did not dare to speak nonsense.

Hill could only lower his eyelids to make himself seem as if he understood nothing... When he left Toril, what he wanted to take was the Mithril Energy Core, not the various gossip of the Toril Gods... But he might really have taken away too much unnecessary information.

Fortunately, the Little Fairies and the Undead Tribe they hosted all ate happily... For the autumn hunting festival, Vila exchanged several Cooking Puppets from Hill... Cooking Puppets all came with vacuum fresh-keeping boxes.

Thus, this generous feast, which included 10,000 people, managed to satisfy everyone.

After two days of feasting, Vila finally clapped her hands and announced the end of the banquet... The cups, plates, bowls, and wine jugs on the table turned directly into oak leaves, which flew out of the Queen’s Hall, spinning in a faint green glow and turning into dust, finally falling in the Oak Forest.

And those cloud berries stretched their branches and leaves, shaking their bodies, and walked back to the walls around the hall in a silvery glow, turning once again into patterns... It turned out that those creeping extending patterns on the walls around the windows and murals were composed of these cloud berry thorns.

Hill couldn’t help but laugh, the talented spells of the Little Fairies were really useful in daily life.

Vila stood up from the throne, raising a horn in her hand that looked like a ram’s horn: ”The time has come! My warriors! I have released a special prey in the Oak Forest... The first warrior to catch it and bring it before me will have the right to take the Horn of Generosity from my hands.

Don’t ask me what is special about the prey... You will understand at first sight.

If you can’t even see that, then you shouldn’t enter the forest and waste your time!

Alright~ Off you go~”

”Hill, what use is that thing?” Celene asked nonchalantly, ”Is it worth so many people monkeying around for everyone’s amusement?”

Hill smiled helplessly... With Celene’s character, she indeed could not understand how valuable the title of first place was to humans.

He simply explained, ”Once a day, the user can try to play this horn for 10 minutes, and if the music is recognized by the horn, it will produce the effect of a Heroic Banquet Spell.

As for the dishes at the banquet, they mainly randomly appear from all the food and drinks of the generous feast, providing 12 types of food and 1 bottle of wine for 50 people to enjoy.”

If it were some powerful weapon or equipment, perhaps the Maiden of the Moon wouldn’t agree, but the Heroic Banquet did move her: ”Ah! If that’s the case, it is quite worth embarrassing oneself for it, once.”

It seems that during the time of being hunted by Shaer, Celene deeply understood what living rough meant, so she cherishes food... Although she wouldn’t starve, she would crave!

Although Hill didn’t think there was anything embarrassing about this... The thrill of being one in a million could ignite the public’s interest in any human world, but he also didn’t think a goddess who overlooks most deities could understand mortal thoughts, so he simply watched the giant screen with a calm expression.

The Undead Tribe was entering the Oak Forest on their various mounts, causing cries of surprise... The faint green light surrounding the forest shrank them directly to the same size as the Little Fairies.

The Powerful Shrink Spell was Vila’s way of ensuring fairness for the Little Fairies while competing with the Undead Tribe... The Little Fairies’ levels might not necessarily be higher than the Undead Tribe’s, but they were more accustomed to a small person’s perspective.

Finding the specially marked prey would be easier... But, being not skilled in combat, it was very likely that the prey would be snatched away from them by the Undead Tribe.

Hill laughed... ’Young Master,’ as Vila’s envoy, was pointing out from the high branches of the Oak Forest with the broadcaster beside them: ”Look at their little surprised faces~ Tsk tsk tsk~ So foolish~

Didn’t they realize this earlier? The Oak Forest is only so big, how can it fit 10,000 people?

Besides, the Little Fairies also have to participate in the competition, aren’t they embarrassed to compete with those tall humans directly!

Now this is the fairest competition!”

The journalist said lightly, ”Although I don’t want to care, I have to remind you not to talk nonsense and incite public anger.”

’Young Master’ said arrogantly, ”What can they do?”

”Hehe.”
