Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1013: Chapter 808: An Unexpected Alliance

The Hydra Lizard leisurely swayed its three tails... An ominous dark purple aura flashed around them.

This spell never had high damage to enemies... But any living creature hit would feel its soul and body lashed fiercely, and without enough resistance, it could only curl up in pain, unable to control its actions or launch an attack.

On each of its twelve mocking lizard faces... Aren’t Rose’s priests fond of whipping people? It seems like whips have become their symbol!

A Wax Melt Demon, a creature turned into a candle by a succubus, couldn’t withstand the ’Whip of Shaer,’ and Zholar dared to claim they feared no pain.

Even the God of Suffering might not withstand Shaer’s whip, yet these fools dare to fight against the Lady of the Night!

The Hydra suddenly paused... The eyeballs it swallowed began to rebel, trying to drive it to take the severed hand placed in its belly by the spider... Quite a creative thought, Vikna probably never imagined his hand would have such a lucky day, to enjoy the company of countless little spiders through their eggshells.

Indeed, the Hydra Lizard considered itself quite knowledgeable... Yet, it was the first time it saw a Wax Melt Demon transformed into a spider mother in the Underdark.

The nature of those beings is more like a succubus, fond of humanoid creatures... Whether they could reproduce wasn’t something an animal like it would know.

But a Wax Melt Demon wrapped in a bunch of spider eggs fighting a war was indeed rare!

No matter how miserable the spider looked, it would never stick its claw into that thing!

Even its Main God wouldn’t demand such an unreasonable request! One eyeball could dream on!

If it continued causing trouble, it would simply put a Stinking Cloud Spell into its belly’s storage bag... For a Proto-Serpent Lizard with an expandable and shrinkable head, it was easy.

Vikna, having once been a Mage King, maintained a lich’s typical style despite his appearance, yet he was not full of worms like the Lich Lord Visaron.

As for him not belonging to the Ferun Pantheon, why the Divine Artifact appeared there... That would be worth asking the treacherous Dilo Dwarf God who loves digging holes.

That fellow’s target should be Vikna’s Divine Power... Because of the left hand and left eye lost due to subordinates’ betrayal, if Dilinca could convert that anger of betrayal into the opposite direction, then the Dilo Dwarf God could perhaps use the Divine Artifact to completely remove the curse from his twin brother sealed in the Abyss.

Additionally, this Divine Artifact could, due to an Abyssal Evil God’s curse, grow stronger.

Honestly, this fellow truly deserves to be the craftiest existence among the dwarves... Few of the Toril Gods could grasp the affairs of other worlds as well as him, especially one focused solely on Toril’s Lady of Darkness.

Like its Main God, spiraling around the resistive big spider with claws tightened and eyes closed, seemingly plotting rebellion, Hydra Lizard thought somewhat helplessly of the messages received before arriving... Its extensive knowledge was only due to its Main God receiving just that much information.

Shaer is intrigued by Vikna’s secret divinity... As for any disabilities or whispers, the Goddess of the Night has no interest.

But she was too late in receiving the news... Had she not acted on a whim, personally searching for Dilinca’s trace, she wouldn’t even know what the Divine Artifact was or where it came from.

Thus, Shaer’s knowledge came only from some message of a little friend... But that was enough for her to take action... Other worlds held little interest for her, but she very much wanted to learn how they maintained secrets to strengthen her divinity in secrecy.

If only dark power intrigued her, Shaer was already quite enthusiastic now... What Rose wanted, even disinterested, she would destroy before anything else.

So now, the Hydra Lizard pondered how to obliterate the pretending-to-be-dead spider along with the severed hand.

However, its flames only singed the spider shell... The demigod-level Wax Melt Demon was undoubtedly beyond its capability to kill.

Though this Wax Melt Demon doesn’t seem as strong as those seen before, presumably Rose’s last creation from a thousand years ago... Nearly failing due to the Queen of Succubus causing chaos.

But the Hydra Lizard, with strength comparable, couldn’t deal with the spider that swallowed Vikna’s hand... The hand was continuously draining the spider eggs’ life force, then enhancing this big spider’s defensive power in turn.

It couldn’t help but lift a head to glance at the elves perched above... Their painting was somewhat useful, though unfortunately too low-level to suppress power from deities.

”That Hydra! Are you trying to kill the big spider?” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ shouted down using his megaphone.

All twelve lizard heads raised: ”Hydra? Are you talking about me?”

”Ah... Yes!” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ hadn’t expected the lizard to be more interested in the name, ”That’s the name of a multi-tailed serpent deity in our world’s mythology.”
