Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 984: Chapter 780: The Strange and Powerful Blood Pool

The Undead Tribe used the simplest method to climb the mountain: they had enough numbers to support a simultaneous start of a mountain climbing event.

Amidst the sarcasm of ’Snow Cloud Peak’, relying on their brute-force style, they finally made their way to the top layer of Bone Mountain... This mountain peak can now be renamed to Stone Mountain... Not only did they leave shiny remains all over the mountain, but the Undead Tribe also managed to convert the areas they passed through into thick stone.

Hill estimates this is the aftermath of encountering the Purple Worm... The Purple Worm is one thing, but most of the Undead Tribe wouldn’t feel anything towards such a monster... Even to those small girls who tend to make a fuss, ugliness and ferocity have never really been an issue. Screaming has never stopped them from their fierce spells.

But disgusting creatures are different... This tests not the nerves but the stomach.

If those grimy, dirty mushroom monsters came rushing at the priests, the girls would probably go crazy.

Finally, when gathering at the mountain peak, the Undead Tribe stopped around the palace constructed with piles of bones... In the bones were inlaid various gemstones and oddly styled decorations, an ominous glow flickering between the cracks... Anyone seeing this palace would likely feel an eerie sense of threat.

Those not daunted by that evil aura might be attracted by the sheer number of gemstones... The Underdark truly lives up to its reputation as the most mineral-rich area.

However, these mean nothing to the Undead Tribe.

”Defensive Knights maintain the front row. Priests, keep the protection in place.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ eyed the palace in front for a while before speaking decisively, ”Earth Mages, get ready. I’ll count to 3, and together, unleash the Pitfall Spell on the palace... Those brothers and sisters who can’t even target where the palace is can help convert the land beneath us. Just sit down with your hands on the ground.”

What are you laughing at? I’m not joking!

We’re in a circle now! If your aim is off, you’ll hit the person opposite!

If you really want face-to-face with whatever disgusting thing might be underground, feel free not to heed my concerns and stand at the front row of the Defensive Knights!

But our T has been through enough, and shouldn’t endure such torment.

So... please pay attention to those dear brothers and sisters around you, for everyone’s sake, ask them to be generous.

The Undead Tribe stirred briefly, everyone’s already been companions who’ve cared for each other for so long, knowing more about their spell-casting abilities than they do themselves... Don’t think just because the palace is so big that no one would miss. There will always be someone who can miss a target just a meter in front.

So, even though many were filled with indignation, they were still pressed into the ground by their friends.

The formation of the Undead Tribe is almost always circular... horizontally by profession, vertically by family, each profession forming a ring, with family members of different professions front and back.

Seeing the Earth Magic ring abruptly lowered, Hill felt a bit disoriented: Earth Mages actually require very high control... Are there really this many clumsy people?

He couldn’t quite understand why these people chose a profession they couldn’t excel in... Even in games, being able to play decently is a basic requirement, right?

Earth Mage isn’t exactly a glamorous profession; Hill doesn’t believe anyone would choose this profession for its appearance, especially considering their standard robes are brown and earth yellow!

He even couldn’t help but cover his eyes with his hand, trying to avert his gaze from those Earth Mages either sitting down or being forced down by companions.

Fortunately, ’Snow Cloud Peak’, once ensuring those who needed to were avoiding, issued the command: ”Standing Earth Mages, get ready... 1, 2, 3!”

Countless brown glows shot towards the Bone Palace... Almost without struggle, the palace simply plunged into a large pit with a boom... That pit stopped just 3 meters in front of the knights’ feet, prompting many Defender Knights to exclaim.

The power of multiple overlapping Pitfall Spells was evident.

”Oh!” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ said, feigning, ”Calculation error, I thought it would stop at 5 meters! I underestimated the number of Earth Mages!”

”Old Dog, didn’t you say stopping at 1 meter is a victory, beyond that is just bad luck for them?” The person beside him asked innocently.

Even the knights standing in front of them couldn’t help but turn their heads to look at their leader with a face thicker than city walls, not to mention those gazing deeply at Snow Old Dog across the deep pit.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ suddenly turned to look at his own fallen people: ”Cloud Smoke? Why are you here? Go back to the Magic Cult territory!”

”Because after Rainfall’s defeat, no one wanted to stand beside you, Old Dog.” The mage showed him a mocking face, ”Only family wouldn’t want to see you die... Are you more likely to dodge a secret arrow or an ambush?”

”Even if I die on the ground, I can still command! I have enough Crystal Stones to resurrect in my bag.” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ replied without hesitation, completely dismissing his companion’s mundane question.

Cloud Smoke glared sharply at Snow Old Dog: ”Will you ever need a priest?”

Snow Old Dog replied without changing his expression: ”You milk-playing men have no use. But some selfless priestess will understand that commanders can’t just return to town.”

”I should learn from Sanda King.” Cloud Smoke rummaged through her small bag, ”Flash Bombs are really great, at least they can shut you up.”

Their conversation was finally interrupted by a piercing scream... The live broadcast camera began to move toward the deep pit where the scream came from, and everyone along the way showed regret on their faces... The priest named Yunfeng had already stopped and silently stood behind ’Snow Cloud Peak’.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ walked while speaking, ”Now it’s time for business: Priests, give me full buffs, I’m going to see what’s down there!”

He purposely turned back to look at Yunfeng following him... and received a gnashing of teeth and a golden protective barrier against evil... This person turned out to be a priest of the Sun god.

The Sun god of Teraxil, although also open to having the undead tribe as his priests, has always been proud and demands very high standards from the undead tribe. Those who can’t pass his test shouldn’t even think about entering his temple... which is why many people have to choose to become Light Mages.

Among the undead tribe, Sun god’s priests are even rarer than Space-Time Warlocks as a basic profession, but when dealing with individual undead, they are genuinely effective... a priest with more attack spells than healing spells, truly one of a kind.

There are simply too few people, so facing the massive numbers or high-level monsters underground, they are of no real use.

For regular players, choosing this profession has no meaning, nor would anyone insist on trying to pass the test... But for these PvP guilds, who deal with battles daily, a high-end profession like this is still very useful... After all, besides dealing with large tasks, their more common enemies are the undead tribe themselves.

It seems that ’Snow Cloud Peak’s’ clan is indeed very worried about their Clan Leader dying unexpectedly, sending out a nemesis of the undead specifically.

The reporter in the live broadcast bravely followed behind Snow Old Dog, aiming the camera equipment at the deep pit:

The Bone Palace was floating in a tattered state within a dark red blood pool, slowly disintegrating with the continuous bubbling blood.

Several undead beings, although sporting wings but reduced to just skeletons, struggled inside... clearly beyond saving.

Of course, no one intended to save them.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ watched for a while, then finally spoke, ”Were these guys trying to lure us in and perish together? Are the undead that loyal?”

”You’re overthinking it, it’s definitely a result orchestrated by a leader beforehand... undead don’t require heirs, they don’t care if others live or die after it’s gone.”

”So what happens when an undead dies?”

”Are you planning to discuss logic problems in the fantasy world with us here?”

”You’re really boring... Yunfeng...” ’Snow Old Dog’ said with a face full of dissatisfaction.

”It’s only because I’m bored that I wouldn’t die with you.” Yunfeng said seriously, ”There’s already no one left with the guts to stand beside you and be led astray by you.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ let out a heavy sigh, ”My life is so boring...”

”Are you missing the retired Zhu Meili and End of the World Romance?” Yunfeng raised an eyebrow in surprise, ”I’ll pass on your longing to those who are still playing the same game with them now.

They actually miss you quite a bit... Maybe there’ll be another big boss who buys out their guild just because of the long time spent fighting against you!”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ looked dejected: his rival’s family could sell for big money, but his own family absolutely no one would buy.

He quickly gathered his thoughts, then turned to give orders: ”Defender Knights, stand around this pit with a two-foot distance in front.

Earth Mages, follow up, build a circle of stone walls 1.3 meters high in front of the knights... those with level 5 or higher Mud into Stone, step up.”

The undead tribe quickly sprang into action.

Finally appearing at the edge of the deep pit was a circle of black granite.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ walked around the enclosing wall, nodding in satisfaction: ”Now, other professions can rest, priests take turns releasing Holy Rain: don’t stop until that thing below turns into real water.”

Hill initially thought that the undead tribe’s priests, numbering in the millions, should be able to transform this ominous blood pool quickly... but he kept watching until the sun was high.

The undead priests had even started a second round of spell casting.

Unable to resist, he furrowed his brows as he searched his memory for the origins of this blood pit: the undead tribe’s Holy Rain is a level 7 divine art, logically by now that deep pit should have been turned into a holy water pool.

Yet the blood pit kept bubbling... Hill felt after watching for a long time, he could sense a peculiar enchanting feeling... and he was watching through a screen!

Hill lowered his head, deep in thought, when a light voice whispered in his ear, ”Anything unimaginable is either related to gods or their weapons.”
