Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 992: Chapter 788: The Onset of the Ground War

The battle on the giant screen continued, but the onlookers seemed somewhat distracted... The subordinates stationed there by Rose were not stupid, and she did not order the Zholar who were slacking to charge forward and fight the Undead Tribe to the death.

Including the Zholar archer, who had a small spider web marked on her head by Hill, she remained unfazed and continued to draw her bow and shoot arrows, completely indifferent to her silk robe fluttering in the cold wind and rain.

For the Zholar, if selling their looks could achieve their goals, they wouldn’t mind undressing directly... But the Undead clearly intended to kill while enjoying the scenery and had no intention of stopping... Even if they were just discussing which lady Zholar had the best figure and was dressed the most seductively moments ago, it didn’t stop them from killing her outright.

The lady Zholar looked grim, and kept cursing that the Teraxil Elves were not real men... The male Zholar felt even more uncomfortable, as the eyes of those female Elves across were scarier than the women in their own families!

It felt like they were looking at more than just male color... Many male Zholar dressed in revealing leather outfits quietly added a cloak to themselves.

Initially, because the Undead chose spells that revealed their indecent mentality at a glance, the Zholar who were posing and flirting, soon retracted their minds... They directly gave up the idea of using beauty to pit the other side... The Undead had never held back even as they showed endless variety.

Several Matron Zholar could no longer hold their composure... Although more Undead had died compared to them, the numbers never dwindled, as people continuously rushed down the mountains to join the battle again... While their own subordinates, once dead, remained dead.

The Matron on the far left was the first to lose composure, directing her Soul-Eating Spider squad to charge at the enemies facing her family... Her family members had suffered the most deaths so far.

Although the knights in the battle field had no intention of doing it again... They felt that if they exploded again, the system force would be lowered to the minimum, and they had not yet wanted to taste the pain of being shattered just to touch a few Zholar sisters. Moreover, although the pain level was reduced, it didn’t mean it wasn’t painful.

They found it not worth the loss, so they abandoned the idea of hugging to explode again... But there were always some who were not willing to give up learning, especially after seeing the defensive knights undressing and going to death together with the long legs.

Even the curses of the Undead girls could not stop those blinded by desire... As a result, while other families had battle casualties of about one-tenth, the left family had lost a full fifth of their female members.

Their Matron losing control and throwing in a big move was understandable.

The Matrons of other families smiled happily, and then commanded their Soul-Eating Spiders to charge directly at the Undead.

It seems, in the world of the Zholar, the family that first sought help from these big spiders of Rose, would get their evaluation downgraded in Rose’s eyes... So, despite losing so many family members before, these Matrons did nothing.

Apparently, whoever couldn’t hold on first would have the worst status in these families in the future.

Hill couldn’t help but curl his lips: ”Foolish.”

”Just greedy for profit.” Fran said indifferently.

They both understood clearly that there was no way these families could live to return to their main city... They were just like those mercenary armies that had been wiped out, just cannon fodder.

”The spider web moved.” Celene reminded Hill, ”What is she doing?”

Hill glanced at the archer who nonchalantly put her hand down, a bronze octagonal star accessory swaying on her waist: ”Rose’s positioning transport key... Even if it can’t be used for teleportation now, it can still be used to send positioning alerts.

I think reinforcements might be coming.”

Sure enough, in less than ten minutes, the alarm of the Undead rang again... On the other side of the mountain, enemies also appeared.

The giant screen suddenly shook violently... It slowly extended to the right, and soon a new screen appeared... The journalist holding the recorder shouted while running: ”I’m going to set the machine on the opposite side! Just make sure to watch that one and don’t get hit... If something goes wrong, message me! Once I set up, I can move back and forth!”

Hill couldn’t contain his laughter, realizing that this thing was a folding screen.

Celene couldn’t help but praise: ”How is this done? You say, if I go ask William, could he tell me how to make it?

I really want to install one in every temple!”

Hill was momentarily stunned before answering: ”That’s the divine power of the God of Time and Space, it can’t be used in other temples, otherwise, Coron would’ve made one for himself long ago.”

Temples of deities have exclusivity; even if Celene doesn’t mind, her divine power wouldn’t permit the power of other deities on her territory.

Celene understood that principle, could only lament with a sigh: ”What a pity... I really like this Divine Artifact! I don’t even know...”

She didn’t finish, but Hill suspected she was wondering if AO could do it... It seemed even though the Creator hid well, if Celene wanted to find him, she could.

Hill thoughtfully glanced at that moonlight: Celene wasn’t that foolish! She had never thought about mastering time and space herself... Yes, clearly curious about prophecy, she never thought about controlling fate.

Even with a lacking mind, could instinct avoid all killing intentions?

”Sir!” List suddenly appeared, ”An enemy has appeared outside Agleya City! Just crossed the Lake of Heart from Ferun Great Land!”

Hill summoned his control Crystal Ball hidden at the center of the castle and immediately activated the full city defense.

”Tell Lynn not to worry, my Defensive Shield can attack outward from inside.”

”Yes, Sir.” List quickly answered, ”Mr. Lynn has already organized the City Guard to the east city wall... He hopes you won’t take action for now, as the Elf City Guards really want to kill a few Zholar themselves.”

”Tell him, if they can’t hold on, to call me directly.” Hill said nonchalantly.

He didn’t think the Zholar had the capability to break his Defensive Shield... The Puzzle Lock wouldn’t be so memorable for the Mis Zhunuo Elves for years if it was easily broken.

If the City Guard wanted to train their combat power, the Zholar were indeed quite suitable... Rose was really ruthless! She knew well how strong Hill’s combat power was.

No, that’s not it.

Hill couldn’t help but ponder: Rose probably just didn’t want Hill to interfere with some of her operations.

He suddenly came to his senses and asked List: ”Ask about the situation in the other two small towns. Have the villagers outside been gathered in?”

”There’s no movement on the Luskan side.

The Hidden Town is still fine, but the White Dragon Queen and Arausato have started patrolling the forest, they feel something’s not right, suspecting there might be someone lurking below.

The Mithril Elves have all returned to their base, Edna has also been taken back by them, now only the Undead are in Hidden Town.”

Hill nodded: ”So, it’s Long Saddle Town? When did they start colluding with the Zholar?”

”Lynn suspects an Evil Mage from the Underdark might have gone wrong... It seems there’s some movement in Deepwater City too.” List whispered, ”Although Deepwater City’s Underworld directly connects to the Underdark, the underground mountain range inhabited by Evil Mages in between has always been their best underground defensive formation.”

”So... what’s in Deepwater City that can help Rose counter Shaer?” Hill turned to ask.

”I don’t know!” Celene exclaimed in a bit of a panic, ”In my temple, there’s only the battering image that makes Shaer angry! That thing has no use other than angering her, right?”
