Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 963: Chapter 759: Vila’s Great Dream

”Was he... just laughing?” Vila perched on Hill’s hair, speaking in surprise, ”The Undead Tribe really is similar to us little fairies! Even at this time, they have to joke about their unlucky companions!

No wonder even pixies can find playmates... they must have a lot in common... and the more anxious the playmates are, the happier they become.”

Hill gently turned his head, holding back his own smile.

He remembered that unlucky fellow ’Universal Sky Net,’ the master of the Duchess’s son Jack... always on good terms with ’Cunlü’ and the ’Old Age Striking King’... one of the small leaders of the Wild Boar Legion.

And for some reasons, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was probably the most frequently trampled by wild boars... the few girls he offended were the type to hold grudges relentlessly from morning till night.

Therefore, that commander famous for being clumsy couldn’t help but chuckle, which was actually understandable... it was quite normal for him to call out Black Rose first, after all, in such situations, they usually target the big families first.

Only when these big families take the lead in sacrificing themselves will the other small families and scattered ones accept a similar fate for themselves.

For the Undead Tribe, as long as the situation stabilizes, those Demon Soul Corpses couldn’t cause much more trouble... the only slight complication was that ’Snow Cloud Peak’ was being too conspicuous, and Demon Soul Corpses aren’t low-intelligence bugs, some soon attempted to charge towards him.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ quickly summoned a carriage and rushed in, with only a megaphone-like tool extending out from a small window to continue directing the scene... Commanders have always enjoyed such privileges, and no one had grievances about him not participating directly in the fight.

So soon, some Defensive Knights raised their large shields and stood outside the carriage: the Insect King actually commanded some giant bugs to charge at the carriage, trying to dig out ’Snow Cloud Peak.’

This enemy was indeed somewhat troublesome for the Undead Tribe... mainly because this cavern wasn’t spacious enough compared to the large number of them.

In a way, it forced the Undead Tribe to battle from the same perspective as the monsters, luckily their level was still relatively high... or rather, once the area attack spells were released, the Demon Soul Corpses couldn’t really do anything.

Hill propped his chin and watched the battle: Demon Soul Corpses aren’t easily created, and the necromancer or lich behind them must be feeling very distressed right now.

But if there was no movement during that most chaotic moment just now... Hill had some doubts—either this was an intrusion from the Bottomless Abyss or Hell, already tossed into the Stellar Realm by the Toril World, or their location was just too far away to act... they used to be able to open a gate to come directly, not anymore.

Hill silently chuckled to himself: If it’s because of the distance that they couldn’t show up... no matter who that guy turns out to be, as long as he imagines the panicked rush to get here, all while sensing his creatures disappearing one by one, he’d feel a faint ripple of amusement... but the other side might not be extremely furious, especially if they’ve confirmed their enemy is Arausato.

Sacrificing some bugs and zombies that have been nurtured for hundreds or even thousands of years is indeed painful, but if it could be exchanged for a Bone Dragon made from an Ancient Dragon, any kind of sacrifice would be worth it.

Undead have plenty of time, they can always find more of these things again.

And his leisurely pace is, indeed, quite normal... the Ancient White Dragon is notoriously resilient, and if he doesn’t wish to endure the dragon’s final desperate attacks, he might indeed come slowly, waiting for Arausato to bleed out and die... with so much paralytic poison, escaping back to the surface won’t be easy for the White Dragon.

Hill felt his analysis was probably correct, so he sat back down on the sofa, waiting to see the outcome.

If that unlucky guy truly was cursed by the Goddess of Misfortune herself, Benshasha... when he arrives, it’s likely that the Undead Tribe will be in the middle of wrapping things up.

But the Undead Tribe showed some signs of anxiety at this time, perhaps due to the monsters’ conduct being so methodical this time, they’re worried there might be even higher-level attackers behind this.

So after only a few scattered Demon Soul Corpses and Corpse Demons remained, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ requested to rain Holy Rain in areas without bugs to ensure no gaps were left.

Meanwhile, the number of bugs in the cavern was also gradually reducing, and even the Insect King that had been charging repeatedly at the front was slowly losing strength, surrounded by the Guardian Knight Order wielding their great shields.

”It’s nearly the end,” Fran stood up, ”I hope those spoils of war are sent back soon, and if the person behind the scenes arrives, do call me, I want to see what kind of person comes up with such a quirky idea.”

Hill stood up to see him out, it seemed his grandfather felt the battle was entering its garbage time.

Vila tugged on a strand of his hair, swinging it before asking, ”Is it over, Hill? Are all those filthy things dead?”

”Not sure if there’re any left in the back passages,” Hill replied with a smile, ”but they can’t cause much trouble anymore.”

Vila tilted her head, and a tiny white rose on her small red bun swayed slightly. As a Flower Fairy, her hair color changed depending on which color flower she had been residing in recently.

That rose caught Hill’s eye for a moment: ”Vila, what kind of rose is this? Why is it so small?”

”I’ve been flaunting it in front of you for so long... Did Hill only just notice?

Indeed, no matter how handsome he grows, he’s still a careless boy!

Hill, if you keep this up, when will you ever have a beloved girlfriend? I guess I’ll never have the hope in this life of cozying up with my lady and discussing intimately which color flowers match best with which hairstyle...

Oh well, what can you expect from a mage master!

This is our painstakingly grown fairy flora, the seeds are condensed from star essence~ Eating twelve of them can transform a human from an ordinary person into a professional!

This one is a bit too big, it can only be used as a hair accessory. It’s the even smaller flowers that we’re aiming for.

The equinox is here... The little fairies will wear clothes made of new leaves and spring flowers, and adorn their heads with wreaths of white or bright yellow flowers to hold our celebration!

The equinox celebration is very important to the little fairies, of course, although it won’t kill us, at most, make us a little sad,” Vila answered him earnestly. ”The Summer Solstice celebration, however, is truly worse than death... We used to hold hope for the Joyous Court and would only casually celebrate on our own... But now there’s no need to think about over there anymore.

So, we’ve decided to hold our own Aglaea’s Four Seasons Festival.

We’ve already sent out invitations to all the little fairies in Toril.”

She chuckled with a couple of giggles: ”Let’s see if those little fairies choose to wait for the Joyous Court, which we don’t know when it will open again, or travel thousands of miles to come to Aglaea!”

”So... why is that?” Hill knew Vila well, although she loved to play and make mischief, to some extent she was a very thoughtful little fairy. If it weren’t for her father’s fallout with the Little Fairy Queen, Hill really felt Vila would become the next Little Fairy Queen.

Of course, the initial remarks he could completely pretend he never heard.

”Oberon is still asleep within the tree,” Vila gently said, ”but this isn’t right... We are children of nature, unlike other deities... Toril refuses no one, but it will never refuse us entry.

I think it’s because the Joyous Court has been away from Toril for too long... Oberon’s name, under Titania’s prompting, has become something few little fairies know, and I’m talking about those who haven’t even been to the Outer Court... So he no longer has roots in Toril.

So I must hold the Four Seasons Festival according to fairy tradition, to stage the grandest performance in front of the tree where Oberon sleeps, allowing each participating little fairy to offer the perfect show to the Father of Beasts: heart-rending and touching stories, poetry with beautifully crafted words, marvelous and delightful songs, we do not need songs praising the queen, just songs that praise nature.”

Hill sighed but couldn’t help but pour cold water on Vila: ”I remember, little fairies’ life comes from the Fairy Plane? The Joyous Court is where your power source lies, right?

Even if Titania is your queen, she cannot cut off your life source, but extracting divine power from there isn’t that easy.”

Vila slyly smiled: ”Hill... if I hadn’t stayed in the Ice Mountain for so many years, I might also think this notion is fine... But just a bit of divine power emanating from a Solar Deity Artifact is enough to provide us with sufficient life force...

Titania never intends to let me go back, can you guess why?”

The Little Flower Fairy waved a small magic wand in front of Hill: ”My power has already threatened her queenly position... that throne nearly flew towards me when I walked past it.

Oberon had previously fallen out with Titania, but never thought of leaving the little fairies’ home... to protect me.

Were it anywhere else, I wouldn’t do this, but Aglaea is a place blessed by the Elven Pantheon, and your garden is full of Suren’s life force. The nature force here is not much less than that of the Fairy Plane.

I want to try... Oberon loves a good spectacle too, and I don’t want him to just sleep away like this.”

Hill reached out a finger and gently ruffled her little head: ”Then do as you wish... I will protect you.”

Vila’s actions essentially divided the Fairy Court in two... Hill figured he ought to make her a stronger weapon. Though he might not be able to create a Fairy Throne like Titania’s that enhances the queen’s power to Intermediate Divine Power, he could try to make something similar.

Vila braided a small swing out of Hill’s hair, happily sat on it, and swung, knowing full well that Hill would absolutely support her!
