Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 991: Chapter 787: Hill the Proud Bachelor

Hill couldn’t help but laugh as he looked at the giant screen: the Undead Tribe had already divided the battlefield into two parts, with the major families standing before the Zholar… while the scattered ones and minor families were tangled with those Goblin Trolls.

The Disease Stone Golem had already been blown to dust on the ground.

The previously frantic Undead had now found their battle rhythm.

The Defensive Knights standing right in front of the Zholar hadn’t seen any casualties for a full ten minutes… Now, standing beside them were all old friends. After fighting together for so long, even without command slogans, they could switch skills with almost the same timing.

The archer that Hill was watching intently had a bow-drawing and shooting posture almost identical to his neighbor, even the rhythm was similar… This made Hill more certain of his suspicions.

Zholar are also elves, and every elf has their own feel for the longbow in their hand, including mages and priests. Not using it doesn’t mean they’re not good at it.

However, the Wax Melt Demon is different. The raw material Rose used to create these creatures is Succubus. They’re dexterous with spider silk, but as for bows, they can only shoot accurately.

The unique rhythm and melody characteristic of elves are difficult for the Wax Melt Demon to exhibit… But these creatures are strong in mimicry, and if you hadn’t noticed her from the beginning, it would be hard to distinguish her from all the archers.

Hill marked a spider web above her head.

Having observed for a long time, Celene noticed that Hill’s observation had ended, so she quickly asked, “That Silvermoon Goddess in Teraxil, is her divinity only the moon?”

Hill was taken aback for a moment before answering, “There’s also illusion, animals, and detection.”

“Animals?” Celene asked in surprise; the other two she had as well, so she understood.

“Animals in Teraxil are very special; they can evolve into Magical Beasts.

And the Silvermoon Magical Beasts are natural Silvermoon Devotees. Most others are Earth System Magical Beasts.” Hill replied straightforwardly as it was not something that needed to be kept confidential.

Celene hesitated before saying, “The world created by the World Tree is so different from ours! Here, animals are just animals, and Magical Beasts are Magical Beasts, entirely two different beings.

Silvermoon Magical Beasts sound really nice… However, I have cute Beastified People, they not only have a simple nature but really love me.

Hill, what do you think? Surely good-natured Beastified People are better than those villains under Shaer, right?

Unfortunately, the Toril people are always too harsh on these poor children…”

Hill fell silent, the existence of Beastified People itself is a kind of sorrow, among the kind gods of Toril, only Celene is willing to extend a hand to embrace these poor souls.

Even if Beastified People aren’t part of the Evil Faction, the beastification disease toxin they carry is enough to make most people turn them away.

For the Toril people, while followers of Shaer indeed destroy heaven and earth once they take action, most people don’t believe they will be that unlucky.

However, anyone could encounter Beastified People, and there are such stories circulating in villages all over Toril.

Becoming a wolf or a brown bear sounds fun… but most people lack the willpower to endure the transformation period after being bitten… Once they fail, they can only remain as an animal for life, forgetting all human memories, losing even their intelligence.

Watching their family and friends ultimately become wild animals, possibly becoming prey under a hunter’s bow and an arrow, how many could have goodwill toward the Beastified who caused it all?

So, although Hill is not afraid of having Beastified People in his territory, he will not openly welcome such beings… Kindness doesn’t mean they’ll never go mad, even if his territory is full of Datura… Eating this plant within an hour of being bitten by a Beastified Person can prevent the tragic transformation into an animal.

That was the first preparation he made after discovering Beastified People among passersby.

Celene didn’t expect Lord of Agleya to allow her Beastified followers to settle there, she just wanted to test… if a Beastified follower of hers needed healing and entered the Silvermoon Temple, the Lord of Agleya would at least not forcefully drive them away, that would be enough.

Celene was already accustomed to her chapel being troubled by the lords because of its insistence on treating and serving Beastified People: though they couldn’t expel the Maiden of the Moon’s followers, they could blockade the routes leading to the Silvermoon Cathedral.

Even if these children leave after healing, the lords cannot accept it.

The last lord who was willing to offer a little space was still Elaströ.

Celene thought that Hill’s future territory would definitely be stronger than Silvermoon City… The heart of the lord determines the future of the territory.

Listening in, Fran always felt like something flashed through his mind, but he was completely clueless… He couldn’t help but glance at Hill, and found that his grandson felt nothing at all… Knowing Hill was very sensitive to matters concerning Teraxil, Fran thought perhaps he was overthinking.

He looked at the battle on the giant screen and couldn’t help but ask Hill, “The Undead Tribe… doesn’t seem to be going all out?”

All the spells were group attacks… and they were control spells like Cold Rain Spell and Gale Wind Spell, with attack power not even as strong as the Zholar’s bow and arrow!

Hill blinked and couldn’t help but cough lightly before saying, “I guess… it’s because… the scenery is… too beautiful, so… they intend to… watch a little longer… right?”

Fran shook his head helplessly, “William’s not doing anything about it either?”

“The Zholar want to delay time, and William might also want that. And coincidentally the Undead Tribe is cooperating,” Hill’s speech returned to normal as he discussed the matter, “He probably hopes that more Zholar come out, which is easier than having to think of ways to siege a city.

After all, there’s always been rumors that some favored families of the Zholar have their main cities connected to the Spider Magic Net… Although Rose cannot enter Toril right now, she might drag those cities into the Abyss through the spider web.

William probably doesn’t want to create trouble for himself.”

Although the Undead Tribe will dissipate after entering the Abyss, for William, explaining this outcome to the players is troublesome, he can’t just say that the Abyss map is incomplete and falling in means a glitched death, right?

Unless he could prevent those cities from being pulled into the Abyss… However, William, far away in Teraxil, can’t manage that.

That would require the Deities local to Toril to step in, not to mention that the control of the Deities over Toril has declined now, even when they could back then… William’s ally is also unreliable.

Hill couldn’t help looking at the sky… with Coron’s character, he wouldn’t be willing to help Shaer against Rose.

Moreover, many Teraxil Elves in the Underdark still secretly worship and respect Coron, and the Father of Elves couldn’t help the Undead Tribe slaughter the Zholar.

Thus, Rose is delaying and William is also delaying… He will assist Shaer, but won’t dedicate himself entirely for her, this temporary alliance built on tacit understanding ultimately depends on whether the individuals can resolve the issue.

This war ultimately relies on whether Shaer in the Shadow Realm can sever Rose’s hand that reached in… just like Celene’s most direct reaction back then, Shaer would surely want to kill Mask, who leaves loose ends everywhere… Otherwise, how could Rose have had this chance!

It’s clear that the disturbance in the Shadow Realm lasted only a short while, but Rose was able to seize the opportunity to storm in through the loophole, proving she was prepared, that loophole must have always been within the observation of the spider’s poison pearl lens.

The huge sphere of flesh and metal grows a window resembling an organ on its surface, through which Rose and her subordinates can see a perfect image of the chosen location, and once they see an opportunity, they can open a portal immediately… After all, Rose was once an elf! Her vehicle was a metal spaceship shaped like a giant spider: two spherical cabins connected by paneling fixed with bolts, and eight delicate spider legs cautiously supporting the former.

This ship can send Rose’s projection to any location she selects using the lens, without even needing Rose to use magic… This is the reason Rose was still capable of taking action in the Shadow Realm even when the entire Toril Magic Net had collapsed.

Celene soon realized: “So, the Teraxil Elves only intend to give Shaer a hand, not planning to form a formal alliance with her?”

Hill couldn’t help but laugh: “Although William secretly admires Lady Shaer, his Divinity is fairness and justice, and he insists on righteousness… While he’s positioned in the orderly neutral category, he leans more towards benevolence.

So he will give Lady of the Night a hand, but can’t officially cooperate, and in terms of working style, William doesn’t agree with some of Lady Shaer’s methods…”

Hill swallowed his words: but Shaer’s madness isn’t incomprehensible… A social anxiety person who just wants to survive in the dark, yet their own sister tore down their home… and she did it against her firm disagreement.

Celene hesitated for a few seconds before saying: “I don’t quite understand… Shaer has many avid admirers, who don’t even care about the countless souls under her command, as long as she says the word, they’re ready to lay down their lives for her, but mostly they’ve been ruined by Shaer.

Why does she only value this William, who isn’t wholeheartedly thinking about her?”

After all, having lived together for thousands of years, Celene can still feel Shaer’s special regard for William.

Hill helplessly laughed: “That kind of question, I can’t answer.”

After thinking for a moment, he said righteously: “I’ve never had a girlfriend! How would I know how girls think?”

Celene softly said “oh” and fell into silence, she didn’t quite know what to say.

Fran, who had been listening quietly, silently lowered his head: Sometimes he really didn’t know what Hill was thinking… In his decades of life, he hadn’t even had a girlfriend, why was he so proud about it?
