As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 39: Chapter 38 - End Of Honorable Duel

The only admiration I can express right now is...

”What the fuck is going on?”

Of course, I said it in a weak tone. These words, which are not common in the world of novels, are too harsh and potentially toxic for the characters I’m writing to hear.

There are several reasons why I said ”What the fuck” on that one, none other than Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, who is skilled in using swordsmanship.

Frankly, Master Reina had no chance of winning this honorable duel. The gap between their abilities and experience in wielding weapons was like the earth reaching the sky.

Not that I’m saying Master Reina’s swordsmanship is bad; it’s just that there was no chance she could land a single blow on Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s body.

Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s attack techniques and evasive maneuvers could not possibly be overshadowed by the abilities of a young girl in her infancy.

Cttaakk!!

Cttaaakk!!

The sound of wooden swords clashing on the vast field caught the attention of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s knights, who were on their lunch break.

Using slow and elegant dodging movements, Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld was able to avoid Master Reina’s hasty stabbing attack.

Swwoonngg!!

The thrust from Master Reina’s wooden sword didn’t seem slow and was too fast for my eyes to see, even though it ”sound” too late to hear... But, there were small traces of sound that entered my ears and sounded like a loud blast of the thrust from the wooden sword.

Master Reina launched a counter and a single strike as she could, narrowly missing Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s body several times. If only Master Reina’s wooden sword movements hadn’t been so easily read, her stabbing attacks aimed at Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s blind spots would have easily hit their targets.

But as I understood before, their abilities and experiences are different.

What I saw before my eyes was a little girl playing with her mother at the training ground.

Cttaass!!

My gaze, which was watching Master Reina, was suddenly diverted by the red rose petals that fell in front of my eyes.

”Hmm?” Of course, it made me wonder why red rose petals were falling in front of my eyes.

Before the big question could be answered, the Head Maid grabbed my hair to lower my head quickly.

”Good afternoon, Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld!” said the Head Maid as she turned me around to bow with her.

I, who was amazed by the honorable duel between mother and daughter, now had to bow my head to a figure whose face I did not know.

Without saying a word and my head forced down by the Head Maid, I saw a pair of shiny black leather shoes.

A shoes that look so luxurious...

The Head Maid’s panic as she grabbed my hair to make me bow...

That was enough to make me aware of the figure standing in front of me.

”No need to be so formal, Mell.”

”I came here to see how close my sweet wife and daughter are.”

”I’m not too late to see their honorable duel, am I?”

His relaxed and pleasant tone of voice triggered Liliana’s deepest memories of her first encounter with Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld: the figure, seemingly a gentle man and a respectable nobleman, which can terrified Liliana in the past with his calm eyes. The slightest mistake from the Liliana in the past... ”happen”, it would have her beheading the death penalty before she knowing it.

Unfortunately, that fear disappeared after I took over Liliana’s body and my gut feeling told me otherwise as a one heartwarming paragraph, I wrote.

[ Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld is a friendly figure and cares about his family. ]

That was a line of paragraph that I once wrote in my novel, before Master Reina was sentenced to death in front of a lot people.

My body trembled slightly when I remembered that meaningful paragraph.

My goal at that time was to create a dark and sad atmosphere; now it feels like deep regret and reluctance to see the face of Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld, which is filled with friendliness.

”With all due respect, you are not late...” said the Head Maid as she released my head from the grip of her rough hands.

My hair, which I had combed neatly, was now a mess after being pulled roughly.

I know the Head Maid’s intentions were good, but her methods were too harsh to carry out.

”The report from Marchioness Shinano Vii Lichtberg is indeed interesting; who would have thought it would become such a serious, honorable duel? Even my beloved wife is using her family’s signature sword technique,” said Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld, which made my gaze return to the training ground.

Without me realizing it and having lost a few precious seconds that were wasted in vain to pay my respects to Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld, the situation of an honorable duel had turned into an intense battle.

Cttaass!!

Cttaakk!!

The loud sound of wooden swords clashing against each other was now filled with a shower of red rose petals.

I don’t know where these red rose petals came from, but one particular spot caught my attention. It was Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld technique, centered in the shower of red rose petals, seemingly the mastermind behind this extraordinary magical event.

The red hair of mother and daughter seemed to blend like roses blowing in the breeze. Their wooden sword movements became more refined, as if they were dancing at a royal feast, each searching for an weak opening to attack.

Master Reina’s stabbing attack suddenly shifted into a gentle slash, aiming for Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s neck. However, it was easily avoided by a beautiful movement of her neck, avoiding Master Reina’s clean and elegant slash.

The disadvantage of height, ability, experience, and attack power is a reason for Master Reina to give up. But she keep trying it.

Even with her petite, agile body, Master Reina had repeatedly broken the balance and defense of Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, who was slowly retreating.

Master Reina’s victory was narrow, and defeat was in her eyes. However, she refused to give up and continued to move at her own pace.

”Reina’s movements are not too bad for attacking, but they are still too bad for landing a fatal blow on an opponent.”

”If only Reina wasn’t so lazy to practice... Hmm!!”

Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s voice faltered at the end, somehow... some bad feeling quickly spread through my body.

Brrttt...

Brrttt...

A bad feeling I had...

It was too obvious!

”Oh! So that’s the reason...”

”Why did this honorable duel happen... all because of a little maid who’s the same age as Reina, huh?”

Srreesshhh...

Srreesshhh...

Without turning to look at Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld, I could feel his sharp gaze fixed on me.

So piercing...

Shivering...

Turning on the danger instinct in Liliana’s body...

This is really bad and makes me sweat quickly in the hot daytime weather!

”Well, I hope for the best possible outcome after this honorable duel is over...”

I was still ignoring Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld, who had been talking to himself without a response from the Head Maid. My gaze remained fixed on Master Reina, who leaped high and twisted her body in the air, as if delivering the final blow she could do with all her might.

Paannggg!!

With just one swing of her wooden sword to the side, Master Reina’s final attack was thwarted by Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld, who aimed the tip of her wooden sword at Master Reina’s neck.

”It’s over, Reina...”

”Kukukuuu!!”

”Hahahaaa!!”

”With this honorable victory in the duel, Liliana is still MINE!” said Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld with a sinister smile, like the final Boss Villainess who appears at the end of the story.

The crushing defeat suffered by Master Reina has marked my new life, becoming even more difficult...

”Ohh... What the fuck?” My response was the same as before.
