As A Maid, I Can Fix Her!

Chapter 26: Chapter 25 - Tease Master Amagi

I sat next to Master Amagi and tried to sit up straight like a professional maid.

”Uhm, Master Amagi...

”To be honest, a maid should not sit at the same height as her Master.”

”But to respect Master Amagi’s invitation. I will do it.”

”E-Ettooo... please keep this a secret from the Head Maid, okay?” I asked, glancing at Master Amagi, who was smiling and staring at the thick magic book in her hands.

Caress...

Caress...

The thick, old magic book caught Master Amagi’s attention. The light smile on her face made me pause for a moment. This familiar smile seemed to penetrate my memories of the world of this novel I had created.

I feel that Master Amagi will play an important role in the future and will be strongly tied to Master Reina.

However, my memory of the character of Master Amagi is still vague because of my habit of always forgetting unimportant characters in novels.

Well, it was also my fault for forgetting about the side characters who didn’t appear again after the main character met the main heroine, and Master Reina was given a heavy punishment after conspiring behind the scenes to get the main character’s attention.

The books plot is... a Villainess like Master Reina serves a severe punishment, and it happens in the future if the plot correct.

But for now, I’m still working to make Master Reina became a respectable noble girl without committing any reprehensible acts in the future.

”Haha... you want to keep this a secret, M-Maid?”

”Ah! I-I mean... Umm... Uhhh...”

Master Amagi was awkward with me again after sitting on the sofa, her eyes darting left and right and seemingly trying to find a suitable nickname for me.

It would be troublesome if our relationship became so awkward...

So, I would gladly accept the title ”Maid”.

”Yes, Master Amagi...”

”You have to keep this a secret...” I said, putting my index finger to my lips.

”I-I understand, M-Maid...” Master Amagi replied with a small nod on her face.

It seems, my name has become a maid in the eyes of Master Amagi.

That’s normal... I guess.

What kind of noble would be willing to remember the name of a maid who works in another noble’s residence?

Calling me a maid is more than enough to ensure I’m not recognized as a ordinary maid in the background.

”Please read this magic book and don’t rush. I will help Master Amagi if encounter any difficult vocabulary.”

”E-Eeeh? I-Is that okay? You went to the trouble of accompanying me to this library.”

”This task given by the Head Maid and Duchess Adelheid Von Blutfeld is too easy to do. Accompanying a beautiful and graceful noble girl, it is a gift I cannot refuse... instead of sweeping the kitchen, scrubbing the outer walls during the hot day, or drying clothes in the backyard of the Mansion—” I don’t know what possessed me, but suddenly I told Liliana’s life story.

”—And yes, it’s suddenly became an easy task like that! Accompanying a beautiful, noble girl who is reading a magic book is not a problem for me. Because this is the same as working in silence!” I continued after telling Liliana about her work experience as an apprentice maid at Duke Adelheid Von Blutfeld’s residence.

”Pffttt... What the heck is that? You look like a maid who wants to laze around,” said Maid Amagi while holding back her small laugh.

”It’s not that I’m slacking off, you know... Because I’m working to fulfill Master Amagi’s needs, and one of those needs is understanding difficult vocabulary that Master Amagi doesn’t understand!!”

”I-I understand now... P-Please help me, M-Maid!!”

With that answer, my name has officially changed to ”Maid”.

”Yes, this Maid will be happy to assist Master Amagi.”

Ckuuttt...

”Guuuhhuukk!!” Suddenly, Master Amagi looked in pain and held her chest.

”Um, is there a problem, Master Amagi?” I asked in surprise after seeing Master Amagi holding her chest.

”N-No problem, it just seems like I’m being insulted,” Master Amagi replied with a strange smile on her face.

”M-Master Amagi, would anyone dare to insult a noble maiden of the Marquess family? If Master Amagi would please... Let this maid erase their existence who insulting Master Amagi!” I said in a high tone and heard the echo of my voice spread in all directions.

Ckkuutt...

Ckkuutt...

Ckkuutt...

”UHUUUKK!!” Master Amagi pressed her chest even tighter with both hands.

This reaction is funny, and somehow I know the reason.

”M-Master Amagi?” With an innocent expression and pretending not to understand the pain that Master Amagi was experiencing, I tilted my head.

Deep down in my heart, there was actually a feeling of guilt after seeing the innocence of a noble girl who was awkward and trying to remember my name.

What Master Amagi was experiencing was guilt after forgetting someone’s name, and she was trying so hard to remember my name. Calling me ”Maid” wasn’t a mistake, as it was my job title and wasn’t particularly important for a noble lady like Master Amagi to remember.

My instinct as an old lady told me, ”It would be so much fun to play a prank on a young girl who is feeling guilty!”

So, I’m going to tease this Master Amagi, with all my might.

Plaappp...

My hand was suddenly pulled by Master Amagi and held tightly.

”N-No... T-This isn’t a problem that stems from other people’s insinuations...”

”I-It’s my problem... having trouble memorizing people’s faces and remembering their names.”

”C-Calling you a maid after all the trouble you’ve gone through serving me...”

”T-That sounds rude, doesn’t it?” said Master Amagi as she held my hand tightly.

Our eyes met, and I could feel her gaze wavering with guilt. Master Amagi’s pastel purple eyes revealed the truth of her having forgotten my name.

Her tight squeeze...

The look in her eyes felt guilty...

That actually makes me feel uncomfortable to tease her...

”Oh, about my name, huh? Isn’t that a natural thing to call me... maid, Master Amagi?” I replied, releasing her grip on mine.

”Uunn??” Master Amagi looked confused by my answer.

”Remembering a maid’s name is not a important things, Master Amagi.”

”B-But, you remember my name!”

”Of course, I have to remember it, if I don’t remember the name of this noble girl I’m serving. I might end up—” before my words could continue, my head was struck by lightning, and I got a new mischievous idea.

”I-I might get the death penalty for behaving rudely towards the nobles in the Kingdom of Belfast,” I continued, putting another mischievous thought that had entered my head.

”A-Aaahh... is that so? D-Death penalty for behaving disrespectfully towards a noble family,” Master Amagi replied with a pale smile.

”...”

”...”

”...”

”E-EEEHHH??!!” Master Amagi continued to scream after three seconds had passed.

”H-How?! I-I am not make you disrespectful, right? I just invited you to sit next to me, right?”

”Y-You’re not going to die, are you, Maid?!!”

With panic filling Master Amagi’s entire body, I smiled and enjoyed the effects of my prank that was happening.

My hands immediately grabbed Master Amagi’s shoulders and pushed her body to sit quietly on the sofa.

My prank had been satisfying, and it was time to erase the guilt that Master Amagi was feeling.

Placing my index finger on her tiny lips, I tried to whisper in her ear.

”Ssshhh... don’t be too noisy in the library, Master Amagi.”

”If no one else finds out, I won’t get the death penalty.”

”Please keep this a secret, okay?” I asked, blinking my eyes.

Master Amagi seemed to understand the meaning of my wink and nodded her head.

”Thank you, Master Amagi...”

”U-Uuhh... Umm... you’re welcome?” she replied with a tilt of her head.

I smiled and stroked Master Amagi’s lips.
