Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 118: Chapter 91: Cousin Makes a Move: A Straight Guy’s Makeup Brush!

Once the time and place were set, the two young girls didn’t linger much longer and left directly—they still needed to prepare.

In the afternoon, Li Younan didn’t have any free time and went to the construction materials market in the county town.

He bought some of the less expensive or frequently used building materials here to save a lot of trouble.

Besides that, Li Younan also visited the hardware store to check out some tools like electric drills, hammers, and other common tools, which could be purchased and kept on hand.

Some of the more expensive or larger tools, such as sawing tables for cutting wood panels, could be directly outsourced or rented at that time.

Then, Li Younan went over his plan, aiming to complete all renovation work within two months. Therefore, the precise timing for the delivery of materials and equipment was crucial and needed to be thoroughly calculated and planned.

Afterward, Li Younan locked himself in his room to draw up a sketch.

Some essential location parameters would still need measurements later.

When his mother returned from work in the evening, Li Younan mentioned his plan to go to Chengdu the next day. His mom only instructed him to drive safely and didn’t say much more.

The next day, since it was on the way, Li Younan first went to pick up Xu Liya.

Xu Liya lived in a newly developed residential area in the county town, where property prices were not cheap.

This young girl was quite punctual, as Li Younan saw her already waiting there for quite a while when his car arrived at the foot of her apartment building.

However, upon seeing Xu Liya, Li Younan couldn’t help but gaze in surprise.

To be precise, it was like a little Daji from King’s Glory standing there.

Li Younan parked the car in front of Xu Liya, got out, gave her a once-over, and with a smile, said, ”So you’re a coser?”

Yesterday, these two young girls only mentioned attending a comic convention but hadn’t said anything about cosplay.

The outfit Xu Liya wore seemed quite costly and was likely handmade.

The fluffy big tail looked very tactile.

Xu Liya’s makeup was heavy, with eyes exaggeratedly large and filled with an anime feel.

Yet, from Li Younan’s professional perspective, the makeup seemed a bit wasteful and rather rough.

Xu Liya had a suitcase, which Li Younan helped to load into the trunk.

At this time, the bed in the trunk was naturally folded up, and the suitcase was placed on the moveable large drawer, which was rather stable.

Xu Liya obediently got in the car and sweetly said, ”Thank you, Brother Li.” Though, she was a bit surprised inside, having seen Li Younan’s old house yesterday, yet the car seemed very expensive.

Xu Liya was not an inexperienced girl; her uncle had bought a second-hand one that was over 400,000!

Suddenly, Xu Liya looked at Li Younan with even more admiration.

Li Younan drove towards Lu Xiaolan’s place, and then he suddenly thought of something and asked, ”Is Xiaolan doing this too?”

Xu Liya was momentarily surprised and hesitated, ”What?”

Li Younan said, ”You know, your cosplay thing...”

Xu Liya nodded, ”I lent her a set of Zhen Ji’s clothes yesterday.”

Li Younan’s expression grew a bit unusual as he found it hard to imagine his simple and slightly old-fashioned cousin in such an outfit.

Soon, the car arrived downstairs at Lu Xiaolan’s place.

Then, Li Younan saw his striking cousin.

Li Younan couldn’t help but close his eyes slightly and rub his temples gently.

How to put it... It’s a bit of an eyesore.

The outfits worn by anime characters directly adapted for real people probably give off this weird impression...

This moment wholly depended on a unified hairstyle and exaggerated makeup to balance the overall effect.

And now, what was Lu Xiaolan’s condition? The outfit actually fit her well, but her hairstyle and makeup were both utterly awful, leaving a terribly unpresentable impression.

Xu Liya hopped out of the car, giving Lu Xiaolan a good look-over, and couldn’t help but burst into laughter, tears almost coming out as she said, ”What... what is this? You can’t just wear the clothes; you need to do makeup. Didn’t I tell you yesterday?”

Seeing Xu Liya laughing so happily, Lu Xiaolan felt more hurt and said in a wronged tone, ”I... I spent the whole morning trying to apply the double eyelid tape... I can’t do it, otherwise, I’d better just forget it and change the clothes back.”

Li Younan checked the time, shook his head, and said, ”No time for that; get in the car first. We’ll figure out some way to fix it over there.”

Xu Liya glanced at Li Younan, thinking he meant for her to help Lu Xiaolan do her makeup, so she nodded, saying somewhat helplessly, ”Alright, alright, I’ll help you with it later.”

Lu Xiaolan pouted and got in the car.

Along the way, Xu Liya started messaging. The photographer she considered a master kept contacting her—the originally aloof photographer suddenly seemed like... a pest.

Xu Liya no longer wished to deal with that guy, but she realized it was not practical to rely solely on Li Younan for photography, and it was unnecessary to ruin that relationship, so she barely responded saying they wouldn’t need his help with shooting this time.

The guy asked if she thought it was too expensive, mentioning the price could be negotiated.

Xu Liya was already growing impatient and simply replied, ”We’ll see about that.”

It’s better to leave some room for negotiation.

Compared to Xu Liya’s excitement and eagerness, Lu Xiaolan felt a bit melancholic at this moment.

Usually a bit of a chatterbox, she sat in the front passenger seat staring out of the window without uttering a word.
