Leisurely Traveler with Check-in System

Chapter 202: Chapter 109: Helping Hand: The Woman Driving a Ford Bronco

Then, Li Younan finally saw what the person driving looked like.

The car stopped just a few meters in front of them, and then, with a snap, the hood latch popped open.

A young woman wearing a leather jacket, jeans, and boots jumped out of the car.

She was wearing sunglasses, with short hair falling to her ears, looking quite sharp, and had a large earring on one ear.

She took out two leather short gloves from her back pocket, put them on, then lifted the hood with a crisp motion.

Li Younan watched the scene with interest.

Driving a Ford Bronco alone, and such a young woman at that, was indeed unexpected.

Judging by the direction she came from, she must also be coming from Jiuzhaigou, since there’s only one road and one direction here.

The young woman stood in front of the engine compartment, silently observing the situation inside.

Li Younan could tell at a glance that although she looked quite imposing, she probably knew nothing about repairs.

With the mindset of helping whenever possible while traveling, Li Younan intended to go over and take a look.

But before he could move, Zhao Ruoxuan had already wandered over.

Li Younan was a bit speechless.

Zhao Ruoxuan curiously approached the off-road vehicle.

It had to be said, this off-road vehicle looked much more imposing than his Land Cruiser.

It came factory-fitted with larger all-terrain tires and had been lifted, making it much more wild and hardcore compared to a Land Cruiser, which leans more towards a commercial off-road vehicle.

Visually, the Ford Bronco seemed like a larger version of the Tank 300.

The first words Zhao Ruoxuan spoke were: ”Wow, big sister, your car is so cool!”

These words clearly pleased the young woman; she raised her eyebrows and smiled at Zhao Ruoxuan.

In the moment her profile turned, Li Younan saw the young woman’s features clearly.

Her features were very delicate, with a mole at the corner of her mouth.

According to some superstitious beliefs, it should be called a ’gourmet mole,’ indicating she might be a food lover, Li Younan thought with interest.

Zhao Ruoxuan continued to ask, ”Big sister, is there something wrong with your car?”

The young woman continued searching the engine compartment with a somewhat serious expression, sighed lightly, and nodded.

But she figured even if she explained it to Zhao Ruoxuan, she wouldn’t understand, so she didn’t elaborate.

Zhao Ruoxuan kept asking questions enthusiastically.

Finally, the young woman said, ”Little sister, could you wait for a moment? Let me finish this first and then I’ll play with you, okay?”

Only then did Zhao Ruoxuan tactfully close her mouth.

Before her was a tangled mess of metal, pipes, and various boxes, like a chaotic heap. She bent down, with her neatly cropped head slightly lowered, her gaze scanning over the dusty components, trying to spot something unusual.

Where is the condensing system?

She only recognized the transparent plastic jug, half filled with swaying pink liquid—windshield washer fluid, which she had refilled before.

Everything else was alarmingly unfamiliar.

She craned her head, her nose almost touching the thick black hoses.

They felt hot to the touch, with no visible cracks or leaks.

There was no pungent smell or strange steam emerging.

Only the residual heat from the engine compartment, stiflingly warming her face, causing her bangs to curl slightly.

She straightened up, shook her sore wrists, and took out her phone from her pocket.

Unlocking the screen, her fingers rapidly typed: ”Ford Bronco condensing system warning light on.”

The page switched, displaying a bunch of links.

She clicked on the one with the most straightforward title, her fingers quickly scrolling through the densely packed photos of circuit diagrams and words like ”refrigerant pressure,” ”condenser,” and ”compressor.”

She frowned, fingers hovering above the screen, her gaze jumping back and forth among the unfamiliar words and images as if lost in a maze.

She recognized each word, but strung together, they became unfathomable symbols.

She was even unsure which part in the engine compartment corresponded to the terms mentioned on the screen.

The screen dimmed, reflecting her somewhat bewildered face, her short hair sticking to her sweat-dampened temple.

However, in the screen’s reflection, she also saw a young man.

Startled, she turned her head to see the handsome young man she had noticed before parking, somehow already standing beside her vehicle, curiously peering into the engine compartment.

She hadn’t expected the clean-cut, handsome guy to help fix the problem, so she hadn’t actively sought his help.

Yet at that moment, he spoke with curiosity and inquiry, ”What’s the error code?”

”What?” the girl was momentarily confused.

Li Younan asked again, ”The car has malfunctioned, right? But from what I can see, there’s no obvious issue, so what’s the warning?”

The girl was momentarily stunned, instinctively replied, ”It’s the condensing system, the warning light shows a condensing system fault. I’m afraid it might overheat, so I stopped to check.”

”The condensing system, huh?”

Li Younan rubbed his chin with a hint of exploration in his eyes and got hands-on.

Only then did the girl come to her senses, asking, ”You know about this?”

Li Younan fiddled with the coolant container a couple of times, adjusted his angle to look at the hoses inside, and had already reached a conclusion.

He smiled, ”You read online, didn’t you? When the coolant warning light comes on, you should immediately pull over, right?”
